Is there an album included? I think our photog said something about getting prints in the mail? Are these proofs? What does disney include with my thousand dollars?????????? Thanks ladies :goodvibes

Well what they do is, they take the thousand dollars and they spend it all on Twinkies.... then they send you a 4x5-inch print (which they call a "proof") of every shot and a folio containing 12 prints that they like. You can ask to select the prints for the folio yourself if you want. If you want any other prints, you have to pay for them, and if you want the digital rights, you have to give them another $1,000 or the equivalent amount of Twinkies.... :rotfl:

That is a lot of Twinkies..

and total crap! $1000 just to take some pictures in front of the castle and all you get is proofs? If that's really the case, NO ONE SHOULD DO IT! Get someone with a digital camera that you know, OR! THE GORILLAPOD! and take the pictures yourself and print them at Walgreens!

I did the MK shoot and got the 12 that come with it, then you can go on the internet to your pictures and order more if you would like I have 38 in total and for all 38 size 4X6 in color is $494.00

4x5 - $12.00 per
4X6- $ 13.00 per
5X7- $20.00 per
8X10- $30.00 per

Amanda,

Contrary to Carrie's experience, most of us got good/decent photographers, though I know lately it has been a little more of a problem. We were not allowed to choose the photos for the album. The photographer chooses those, but we did get all the proofs as well. I finally got around to ordering an enlargement for the house. Mine were no where as awesome as yours and it is nice to see they are doing a little photoshop with them now. I think current brides are getting a lot more photos taken now than we did in the past. DPS also mails you a "proof book" with smaller copies of all your proofs, which is good to pass around the family if they want to order some prints.

Your photos were absolutely beautiful ! Can't wait to see your ceremony pix!

hey, smart one, you cant walk thru the parks in your wedding attire...duhhhhhhhh :)
Can I wear my wedding dress in a Disney theme park?

Not usually. You can wear wedding attire in a theme park only under these conditions:

1. During your actual wedding or reception that is held in a theme park through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings. Theme park weddings occur outside of normal operating hours.

2. During a private Illuminations Dessert Party at Epcot, held in conjunction with your Intimate or Custom wedding at Walt Disney World (but you have to be escorted through a back gate).

3. By purchasing a special photography package at Walt Disney World, through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings. With this package you are taken into a theme park before it opens to the public and a Disney photographer does a photo session with the bride and groom in wedding attire. This package is only available in conjunction with an Intimate or Custom wedding.

Basically Disney won't allow adults to wear any type of "costume" (including wedding attire) into the theme parks during regular park hours. The concern is that it might confuse other guests into thinking you're part of the entertainment!

You CAN wear wedding attire at the Disney resort hotels on the day of an official Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding, however!

Has anyone ever tried reprinting them on their own scanner - then no extra Twinkies for Disney?

Yes, mine worked fine...that was in 2006
you can scan the proofs but once you try to enlarge they get a little grainy...if you order a print you can enlarge them to any size....

I remember reading (I forget when or where...) that if you wait over a year to order a CD of all the photos and the rights, that the price is dramatically reduced. Is this true/still true?

Incidentally, if you are a UK bride, you get the CD with all images and copyright included in the basic package.

This applies for MK shoots and any Disney photography done - just got an email from Disney confirming this, as it was something Summer mentioned so I queried it with them....

Yes... sort of. According to my communication with Disney Photographic, if you wait three years, you can order the digital files CD for $500 if you had a Wishes wedding and $350 if you had an Escape wedding. Unfortunately, those prices used to both be $100. The change applies to any wedding held on or after 8/1/07.

About the cost, you lucky UK brides. My planner also said after 3 years the price would go to $500.00.

I know you can't wear your bridal attire into the parks but what about if the bride were to wear a pretty white sundress and the goom some nice pants and a shirt - kind of like pjstevens is going to wear for her VR on the Disney Wonder - only a little shorter. Make reservations for an early breakfast before the park opens and get a photopass photographer to snap you picture in front of the castle.

wow meryll83 really?

that is very exciting news... will def be having a disney photographer now

i havent been told we get the cd, i think you only get the cd if you are a escape bride with the package with the wedding not the mk shoot

Very interesting. Do you know why there is such a difference?

Yes, it is because when you consider the cost of reprints and then add exchange rates and overseas shipping costs (especially for larger prints) it makes the delivery of photos to the UK extremely expensive (not that Disney isn't expensive anyway).

Hi Ladies,
I upgraded my MK shoot from $1000 to $1250, so with that additional charge I got an album of 12 - 8*10's that I got to chose. I also got the proof booklet and I got all photo's taken in a 4*6. There were 93 of those so I took those to walgreens, scanned them on to a CD. I had to get 4 CD's at $2.99 each but I have all my pictures and I can get enlargements or prints if I choose. That may be a better option for some of the brides in the future. I just got the album today and my wedding was 12/27/07 but it is better than I expected it to be. I am very happy with my purchase. Those moments are once in a lifetime.
