Ok. So I am SUPER excited to make my call and get our date set in stone. What sort of things do they ask when you make your first call? I get nervous so I need to make sure I have all the stuff I need written down before I make the call.

aqnd does anyone know what times they are in to take calls?

I recently booked MY WDW honeymoon, too!! First, *CONGRATULATIONS* on your engagement! That's wonderful!

When you first call, they will ask basic information, and you'll probably want to use your soon-to-be last name, if your WDW trip is going to be your honeymoon. (Because when you check in, you'll be married!!)) If you already have a resort in mind, let them know so that they can price to see how much per night it will be when ya'll are planning to go.
Also, they'll ask what type of park tickets you'll be interested in ((hopper, 5 day, 7 day, etc.)) So, if you're unsure, you might want to read up on them BEFORE you make your call, so you're not "put on the spot."
Other facts you'll want to have on hand at the time of call is any ADR's you might want to make, the exact date of check-in and out, and MAYBE your fiance's SS#. (Just in case. They asked for mine, not my fiance's.) Also, they will price it up for you, especially if you go with a certain plan, so you might want to make a deposit payment then, so have your VISA, or whatever, ready!
The 1-800 number is available to call 7 days a week, until about 9pm, I do believe.

Good luck planning your trip!! And CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement, again!!:yay:

First, pick a date- any date. It's crazy, I know, especially because you have 365 days to choose from! If you are impartial to a date in general, pick a month that you like best, whether because it's seasonal, practical, etc. For me, I said i always wanted a fall wedding, so I said, "October, works for me." Then, I decided I def wanted it on a SATURDAY, so I looked the the Saturday dates that were available in that month. I think it was the 6, 13, 20, and 27th. My fiance didn't want the 13th because ONE DAY, our anniversary's going to be on a friday, I didn't want the 27th because that's my cousin's birthday, and I wanted it sooner, rather than later, so that pushed me to the 6th, rather than the 20th. The first thing I did after that was call the reception hall and tell them my date, you want to book that ASAP!! When they told me that October 6th wasn't available, I had the option of bumping it up a week (September 29th) or moving it back a week (EEK- October 13th).
My flowers/wedding colors would still be in season for September 29th, so I didn't mind pushing it up, especially because I didn't really care too much on the date- it's about the marriage- not entirely the wedding DATE!!
If you have a special day that you want to get married, Valentine's day, the day that you met, specific dates MAY be harder to accomodate, depending on how much notice you give the reception hall/church, etc.. As long as you are willing to be somewhat flexible, you know?

When you are booking the actual date, they are going to ask minimal questions- (Unless you're planning an on Disney grounds wedding, they'll need more information.) They'll ask your name, fiance's name, specific date, anything special you may have in mind of doing (i.e.: doves flying, or something?), and the time you're thinking of. Also, they may want a round-about idea of how many guests are invited (for fire capacities, food preparations, etc.)

Wow, I typed a lot. Sorry. Once you have the date, contact reception hall, then church, or wherever the wedding is being held. Are you planning to get married on WDW grounds??

Hmmmm, let me try and remember what they asked me. I believe really they only asked my name, phone number, fiances name, if I had a date in mind, and if Disney was the only location I was considering/ if I was sure I was having a wedding there or only looking into it.

When I got assigned a sales manager a few days later then she asked me a few basic questions.
What locations I was interested in
Date - and did the date have any significance to us ie. anniversary etc.
About how many people we were expecting
What kind of budget we were working with
And asked me if I had any questions

Very easy. Don't sweat it. The first call is just very basic. If you are going to be booking an escape wedding then you must have 4 nights stay at a Disney resort booked before you can book your wedding date.

When I first called, they asked me:

Where I wanted to get married
When I wanted to get married
How many guests that I thought I would have
