What do Santa's reindeer eat?

Our kids leave whole oranges. They love running outside in the morning to see the orange peels all over the yard! We started the tradition one year when we forgot to buy carrots, and oranges were all we had.

Cheese and crackers as well as a nice glass of merlot ;)

Carrots.. (Kind of like the oatmeal and glitter idea though! :thumbsup2 )

Entemanns cake!:thumbsup2 Rudolph prefers Chocolate dougnuts!

Carrots have always been our tradition, but out of the blue the other day, DS 3 said we have to leave CORN for Rudolph. Umm, ok son!

I really like some of the other ideas here though! But I think I'll pass on the glitter. Unless Mrs. Claus is going to come vacuum on Christmas morning!!!:rotfl:

Carrots, I've actually never heard of the glittler/oatmeal thing.

Santa usually got cookies (or pie, whatever dessert we had left on Christmas Eve) and Diet Dr Pepper.

Now that I'm all grown up we don't do it anymore, I hope to carry on the tradition to my future children though. :goodvibes:

We never left anything growing up either but we are starting that tradition with our kids. This is the first year my dd is old enough to understand and we've decided to leave a couple of carrots. We may alternate with that and the "magic reindeer food" as she gets older though.

ETA: When we do the reindeer food (aka the glitter) we will be leaving it outside since the deer will be outside too. It will eliminate the messy glitter/vacuuming issue.
