What do I look for/ask for if I want to try and get a points transfer?

If I want/need say 5 points and I want to get a transfer for a trip for Jan. How does that work??? I know you are allowed only one transfer in or out a year right? Do the points have to come from a resort contract for which I want to make a ressie at?? So if I want to stay at OKW and I am short say 5 points do I need a transfer from a OKW member? Should UY be important with a transfer?

If you are reserving within 7 months the resort does not matter. You would want to find someone able to transfer points from their 2009 Use Year into your 2009 Use Year - but keep in mind that the points will retain their original Use Year as well Home Resort status - so if they have a February Use Year, the 2009 points will expire on January 31, 2010 - but transferred points can be banked into the next Use Year.

For a trip in January, 2010 you whould be fine with transferred points from any 2009 Use Year.

The biggest challenge may be finding a member willing to use their one-per-year limit for a small transfer. If you would have any use for a larger transfer (remember you can bank those points), you might want to consider that if no small transfers are readily available.
