Yes, I can't believe how quickly we found the owner! We live in a small town, though, so I'm sure that's why. I thought we'd be dealing with this for several days at least.

That's great news! I once had an "overnight guest" - a basset hound. Our story turned out just like yours - we found the owner the next day and he was so thankful! I don't think it's ever the wrong thing to help out an animal in need.

He's home with his family!

DS and I went out to the vet to get him checked for microchips, but there was nothing. When we got home, the warden called us and said he thought he had the owner. I'm so happy! The owner was a guy I'd gone to school with and he was so thankful. They lived about a mile from where we found him, and he was so grateful that we kept him safe.

He offered a reward -- I said no, but he could give it to my son if he wanted, so he did.

What a happy ending!

How did you end up finding the owner? I thought it was going to be a lot more work than it was, even in our small town!
