What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

If you haven't purchased your luggage yet, buy your luggage in the most obnoxious color you can find. We can always spot our fire engine red luggage in the sea of black luggage on the airport carousel.

After accidently picking up the wrong luggage 4-5 times ( all black!) I went and bought a new set. It's lepoard print. I have never saw anyone with it and have no problem picking it out!!!

-Bringing your own fan
-Bringing in crystal light packets for water, instead of buying at WDW
-ziplock bags for EVERYTHING
-Making index cards for each day for places you want to get to, it makes things VERY organized
-rain poncoes at the dollar store
-going to "Character Warehouse" (an outlet 5 min. away from disney that sells WDW purchendise almost HALF off!)
:)

what do I need ziploc bags for? and what do I put in them?

We just returned this past weekend from WDW and I took the suggestion of the ziploc bags and I thought it made the suitcases so organized even though my husband and my Mom teased me. My husband kept saying ok don't take Monday's outfit out but hey I thought it worked out great. I also made this folder with everything labeled. I had my spreadsheet, maps (since we stayed offsite and won't do that next time), car rental info, flight info, medical info (mine and the kids since I am pregnant). It was great but got teased again my MOm called me DAnny Tanner (from the tv show Full House) they called it my "folder of fun" instead of the "clipboard of fun".:lmao:

One tip that proved very helpful on our recent trip was taking an over-the-door shoe organizer to organize all of our "stuff". It saved me so much time from digging through bags to find lotion, bandaids, q-tips, sunscreen, medicine, etc. I will be taking one on every vacation our family take from now on!!

When I first read this tip way-back-when, I thought it was a bit "obsessive" ;) but I am sooo glad I took the advice!

I have not seen one of these in years-where is everyone buying the over the door shoe organizers these days??

Dollar Tree has them.

I have been to every Dollar Tree in our area and none of the locations have them. I bought one for my daughter to put shoes in a while back at Target. Guess I'll be at home tonight dumping shoes on the closet floor so I can pack it! :rotfl2:

I know a lot of people put each day's clothes in them, but I don't. I pack all the toiletries in them so that if they leak, it won't make a mess.

I take them with me to the parks to keep fanny packs, hats, wallets, cameras, and cell phones dry on the water rides.

I guess this only applies to AK and MK.

I too use the over-the-door shoe holder. My DH teased me endlessly before our first trip about it. Once we got there, he was so happy we had it.

GO figure:confused3

Have Fun!!

After about four trips, basically "laughing" at those suggestions, I mean we only get to go every other year or so, I wanted to get my $'s worth! :rotfl2: Well, last trip, we were so relaxed....DD was almost 7 then, had DMIL, DFIL, and they enjoyed the trip...Heck we all enjoyed the trip soooooooooo much more. My husband (then 40) said it was his first RELAXING vacation ever!
We checked all the maps and books ahead of time, decided what was Have To's and did those first, some even a couple times, then left when we got hot or tired, we came back refreshed and ready for more fun! I never thought I would get my money's worth by resting! SOOOOOOOOOOOO wrong!!!!!
Some mornings we got up early, some mornings we slept in, we just went with the flow. Basically pretended we were in Vegas, no watches or clocks, we started when we woke up and stopped when we got the slightest bit tired. Sometimes, just stopping for an ice cream did the trick. Time inside a cool place, rest and relaxation, you will really get your money's worth and ENJOY yourself to boot!:cloud9:

Just be sure to Lysol those pockets before you put toothbrushes or anything like that in there. :lmao:

I couldn't find them either...until I checked in the BATHROOM section of the Dollar Tree. They aren't as large as the shoe ones but they are identical otherwise--plenty of room for toiletries or the things you don't want to forget each day (keys, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.).

Good luck!

That's where I found mine. It has 9 pockets, so I bought two. One for each bathroom door in our cabin.

We used the zip locs to keep everything dry inside our back packs. We never knew when it would rain so I always had them in the bag to make sure that nothing was ruined. I had a pair of flip flops in a zip loc so incase it rained I had those to take out and use, but then also something to put wet shoes in.

Same as this poster, I used the zip locs to make sure that nothing leaked from the toiletries on the rest of the bags contents. Make sure that you use the kind that you have to pinch together yourself for this, the kind that zips across with the plastic piece doesn't keep things from leaking onto everything else. Ask me how I know. :headache:
