If you could pick any Disney Movie as a theme for a new Disney Resort which movie/theme would you choose?

I would love to see a

Beauty and the Beast/Castle resort!

I like the Beauty and the Beast idea... you could do a Parisian theme for one part, and a French chateau for another... that would be sweet!

I like Beauty and the Beast. I think The Little Mermaid would be really cool too.

I'll have to think on it, but my first instinct would be Beauty and the Beast or Toy Story. Here's why:

The rumors I've read say the 4 themes will be Nemo, Cars, Little Mermaid and The Lion King. Also, the single rooms (as opposed to suites) will be in the Little Mermaid section.

I discussed this with DD10 and she had the exact same concerns I did. I think that says a lot. The main ones were that the 4 themes were (in her words) all too babyish. Nothing that could translate well to older kids. The second concern was that anyone who wanted to stay in the singles and had boys would be out of luck with a Little Mermaid theme. Why not select a more gender neutral theme for the singles?

As Mrs. Charming mentioned, a Parisian theme, a chateau or any number of things could appeal to older kids/teens/adults. It's not all about Belle. As for Toy Story, I just think that appeals to older kids too because the characters were the sort that still make you laugh years after you watched it first. Adults like it because we recognize the toys of our childhood.

Toy Story was a close second for me...it could be a lot of fun maybe with both some Woody/Western themed rooms and some Space/Buzz rooms.

So they decided that the Little Mermaid rooms at the new Animation Resort would be the singles? I wonder how they came to that decision

I went with Fantasia but in reality I think a single movie or character is far too narrow of a theme for a whole resort. Having buildings dedicated to characters or films in an animation resort would make much more sense, hence the conclusion of POP.

I voted for both Lilo and Stitch and Monsters Inc. Lilo and Stitch could be a cute idea, one area more Hawaiian/Tropical and the other a space type of theme. I also voted for Monsters Inc. b/c I like that movie and think they should do more with it (as with Lilo). Although, DD would never stay there, for some reason she is afraid of Mike Wazowski
Toy Story and Fantasia are both already represented @ ASMo.

They should do a resort that is geared toward Pixar in the future, or a Heros/Princess type of resort. Incorporate them both into areas so if a family have 1 girl and 1 boy they aren't fighting over staying at the peter pan or the tiana section lol.

Oooh, this is a hard one! And a fun one to boot! Well, since the Art of Animation is going to be coming out I would want a resort that focuses more on the architecture, feel, details and time period of the movies.

My Favorites:

Beauty and the Beast: Like others have stated, one could do a Parisian/French Chateau theme, though Paris never really featured in the movie. A mixture of a large 'castle' based loosely off the one in the movie (though not too similar to the one in DLP) and smaller B@B type Chateaus surrounding it would be picturesque. This could also set the stage for a deluxe (castle) and moderate (chateaus) all in one resort! Another possibility would be another hotel building inside a version of Belle's Village. The movie is set in a mountainous/hilly area surrounded by coniferous forests (remember that awesome first scene in the movie?) I would imagine that the landscaping would play off this, along with a plethora of roses. For the castle, maybe bring in a tough of Versailles, while the Chateaus would have a more rustic but charming feel. Overall, this could be a very romantic resort, grand yet intimate.

PP: There are two possibilities here, an Edwardian London resort or a Neverland resort. While the Edwardian would be the easiest to pull off, a Neverland resort, if properly done, would be a sight to see! The rooms/buildings themselves would be tree houses, 'caves', even pirate ships! The coolest thing that could be done, though, would be the pool. Imagine a large pool complex spanning a massive area, starting at the lagoon with a Captain Hooks pirate ship in the middle (on an island with a bridge of some sort, so everyone can reach it) that is a water playground, with water slides, water bucket, water sprayers and water cannons. A lazy river could connect it to the mermaid lagoon (A zero entry pool, with a beach!) and finally to another pool featuring Skull Rock, and a large water slide or two. Along the way one could encounter pools, caves and waterfalls. And maybe even pirates, mermaids or a giant croc. The landscaping would be based on the whimsy the island has in the movies, bright colours, trees of all sorts from all around the world, all in one place. And some tree's and flowers that can't be found in the world too. ;) Ferns, Palm Trees, Pine Trees, Vines, Orchids, fields of grass, all sorts!

A few other ideas:

The Jungle Book: A colonial India style resort with a few JB details, as opposed to entirely based on the book.

Aladdin: Agraba, the resort! Agraba is a mix between Egypt and the Middle East, and could make for an interesting resort. I would base the resort of the palace and it's grounds, with fountains, reflecting pools, small gardens, a cool white palate with gold accents.

Hmm, I figured I'd be the only one to pick Hercules... :rolleyes1

An ancient Greece theme would be awesome. Kind of like Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, but with a magical wholesome Disney twist.

Sleeping Beauty or The Little Mermaid, but only if the mermaid one is all under water.

When Walt Disney World was first planned there were supposed to be 3 more hotels built around Seven Seas Lagoon & Bay Lake. One of those was a Persian/Arabian themed resort. Obviously it was never built.

I really wish they'd resurrect those plans and make an Aladdin/Middle-Eastern themed resort. I can guarantee it would be beautiful!

either one of these resorts would be so COOL :cool2: I love the way you described them....very creative!

Hercules would be so cool!! But of course so would Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Wall-E, etc etc.

Too hard to pick!

I went for Aladdin as I could picture a resort based on the Middle East theming...fountains, palace, souk (marketplace/gift shop), the pool theme including a water slide that uses "magic carpets" and spitting camels ..... the ornate tile mosaics - ohhhhh the possibilities - which would appeal to both kids and adults.....

Aladdin would def. be a fun one too! I could easily see it as being a Mod. or maybe even Deluxe resort.

I was even thinking a Haunted Mansion Hotel could be fun...although some people especially kids would prob. be too scared to stay there.

(Some people already refuse to stay at Boardwalk because of the "scary" clown) :clown: lol
