What Disney "household items" have you bought?

Wow! I am TRULY IMPRESSED! I wasn't sure I would get any posts when I started this thread!

Sirus - thanks for the DIXIE site. I now realize I have only TWO of the available patterns. Giant Food is cramping my style by not having all the patterns!!!

:

I purchased the Disney Dixie plates and bowls, and I didn't realize until I got home and opened the packages that all three plate designs are included in each package of plates, and all three bowl designs are included in each package of bowls. :) I wish I had realized this before I rummaged through trying to find three 'different' packages of each. No worries-- I'll use them!

I also have the Disney kleenex, and a pair of Mickey bookends that I proudly use to display the photo album from our last trip.

OOOH, I found wonderful kitchen utensils like pancake flipper, spagetti scooper, slotted spoon, etc. all can be found at gift shop in Animal Kingdom. They are black, with black handles, and a white mickey glove at the end -- too cute!

Oh Deebo - you are RIGHT! HA HA -- I thought I only had two of the patterns! Thanks for noting that. I don't need to rag on Giant Food anymore!!! I don't use bowls so I didn't look for them ... hmmmm ... how can I use the bowls. :p

Were the Kleenexes big boxes, "boutique" boxes or individual (purse size) packages. Were they Kleenex brand or another brand. I need to look for those next!!!

Thanks!!!

I alos had the tea kettle but I burned it up when I got in the shower after putting water on. :furious: I'm so forgetful! Also my DD's room is all Princesses. We have Disney mugs we use for our tea every morning. I have Tink dish towels and oven mitt that I got from Walmart. We also have the buzz paper towels.

Glad I could help. :thumbsup2

I'm not usually a paper bowl person, but I bought them anyway because I was afraid that I'd be sorry if I didn't. So far, I have actually used them for ice cream and for cereal in the morning.

I have found two types of tissues-- I think both are Kleenex brand. One was the standard 'large' box that has square photos of Mickey, Donald, Goofy, & Pluto all the way around the box. I think there was also a Princesses design available. I found these at WalMart. The other tissues were in the small cube 'boutique' boxes and had a VILLAINS theme-- either Capt. Hook w/ Peter Pan or Cruella and some Dalmatians. I found those at ToysRUs. They're a little pricey, but you only live once!

Don't you just love Disney?! I'm so excited about my upcoming trip that I could just bust! :cheer2:

I have a T.V. armoire that actually came from the Wilderness Lodge, you know the one with the bears on it? Does that count? :confused3

Connie1042, thanks for the info on the topiary. Can you explain 'exactly' how you planted it? I have a funny feeling it's going to be a high maintenance project for me.

I turn toys into household items. I bought one of the souvenir magnet sets and I use the magnets to hang up Disney postcards on my fridge!

Oh KaysMommie - I hate when I burn things!!! Funny thing is I burned a pot of veggies really bad cause I was .... perusing the DIS boards instead of watching the pot of veggies on the stove .... .... arg ... I can see the headlines now ... HOUSE BURNS DUE TO DISNEY OBSESSION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deebo - thanks for the ADDITIONAL info. I see you are at the Contemporary this trip. My friends LOVED it!! I am helping another friend plan her trip and they are staying Contemporary too. Her son loves trains and we thought the monorail right thru the lobby would be grand for him! Plus Chef Mickey so close! (I am yet a POLY fan ... and going for the familiar on my second trip!)

I don't have ANY Disney tea(dish)towels. I am deprived. I need a trip to maybe WALMART for some new DISNEY items ... plus maybe buy a couple items to help along my friend's DISNEY obsession!! She's not going til January so it can be a Christmas gift!

.... plus my next trip I need to look for all these utensils (black & red) with Mickey ears. I may have to burn up some of my old ones ... DEAR DEAR DH - I HAD (stress HAD) to buy some new ones ... my old ones broke cooking the lovely dinners I made for you -- (all the while he is eating with a MICKEY FORK!!) hee hee hee :teeth:

Believe it or not, I found a 25th Year Celebration set of Mickey Pillowcases in my linen closet. I bought them when I was ... (well 25 years ago when I was a baby and NOT in college ... really I can't be THAT OLD can I?) -- I was putting clean cases on the pillow in the spare bedroom when I realized what they were!!! WOW!!! See ... obsessed before I even owned pillows of my own!

Love the mickey ice trays. Nothing like having "mickey" floating around in my sweet tea to make my day.
Tinkerbell oven mitt
Disney countdown til Christmas from the Christmas shop in MK
LOTS of Christmas ornaments
Christmas stocking holders

I have a lot of little things in the kitchen - wine stoppers, spoon rest, magnets, sink strainer, kitchen towels.

My mom, on the other hand, goes for the bigger items as my DBF gets her a Disney appliance every Christmas (much to the chargrin of my dad  ). To date, she has a popcorn popper, toaster, smoothie maker/blender, and waffle iron. She also has a shelf above the double doors to the dining room that is all Disney - she has old Mickey juice glasses, Disney picture frames of my brother and I when we were little vacationing at WDW or DL, Mickey and friends beanies, ceramic figurines, etc. As much of a mishmash as it sounds, it is tastefully put together and I just like eating in the kitchen when I visit so I can look at it. :goodvibes

WOW!!! THAT IS DOING IT RIGHT!!!! Cool! :woohoo:

We have way too many Disney Household items- it's just crazy. For a long time we had a Mickey Mouse bathroom! Anyway, my favorites are the sink stopper with the Mickey Head from the Gourmet Pantry at Downtown Disney, and we LOOOOVE our Mickey Waffle Maker.

2 sets of dishes (service for 8), wine glasses, canisters, kitchen utensiles, pot holders, kitchen towels, paper towel holder, cookie jar, colander, bottle opener, egg/pancake molds, waffle iron, toaster, tea pot, salt & pepper shakers, mugs, 2 cookbooks, wine glass charms, clock, spoon rest, cutting board.

Dining room light fixture for over the table!!!

bathroom rug, towels, soap dish, soap dispencer

Duvet set, throw pillow, sheet set

Various prints and sketches and mickey picture frames, not to mention all the christmas ornaments.

I forgot, I have the Mickey camera strap on my Canon Rebel - we searched high and lo all over DL in 2001 after seeing it in WDW in 2000 and not buying it. :teeth:

My best friend has a Cinderella room that has spilled into the entire house. If it has Cinderella she most likely has it.

Oh, I try to keep the Disney Magic alive in all my rooms. It helps to get me through in between each trip. So here it goes.

Kitchen -- 50th Anniversary dishes, silverware, toaster, Mickey waffler, Princess waffler, ice cream maker, smoothy maker, pop corn popper, snow cone maker, 2 Minnie cookie jars, s/p shakers, Mickey beer stein, numerous glass jars with Fab 5, pot holders, Mickey Mouse phone.

Bathroom -- shower curtain, towels, garbage can, toothbrush holder, lotion dispenser, cup, dixie cup holder (with fab 5 cups in it)

Bedroom -- Mickey Mouse sheets and Duvet set

DD room -- Has been done in princess for years but she wants a big girl room now and we are in the process of changing it. :sad2:

Hallway has a disney print on the wall

Living room -- Mickey Mouse phone, candle topper, picture frames and as a friend of mine asked, do I have any pics of my dd that don't include a character (about half the pics in my living room are blown up pics from trips)

Numerous throws and almost every one of my picture albums are Disney.

A lot of friends joke with me all the time about do I have a room in the house that doesn't have Disney in it. NOPE.

Oh and at Christmas my tree is all Disney as are almost all of my decorations.

I'm not quite up to your standard, owing to a husband who does have his limits, but I do have the same kind of theme going. I have something Mickey in every room in my house. Some are easier, eg the kitchen, but some I just have a little tin of peppermint characters which I think are really sweet. I have a faithful mickey pyrex chopping board which I have had for years. It came from Disneyland Paris and couldn't be without it. Last weekend I bought a 16 piece crockery set that was in the sale at our local Disney which was down from £45 to £8 ($81 to $14), I was chuffed with that.

My DH tries to set limits ... and fails! :rotfl2:

Great deal you got katytrott!!! Lucky you! I never find the good sales ... maybe I need to read those budget boards more but the community boards can get scarey. I'll stick right here on the Theme Boards ... this is about keeping the magic alive :wizard: !

Anyone else have some different items? Seen anything new for the household?

(I should mention I also did the spare bedroom with Beauty and the Beast sheets -- and a comforter ... and a lovely B&B nightlight with a castle in the back) ... hee hee hee ... I have no children and all nieces grown ... what WILL the neighbors think??? :rotfl:

I just bought a Mickey papertowel holder, matching spoon rest, matching dish drainer and buffet caddy (it holds plates, napkins and silverware for guests to utilize). Next I am going for the bar set (openers, etc.) and the bar shaker set with a cocktail shaker and four glasses. I also have many different throws that we use ALL the time, several Disney-themed lights, a canister set in my kitchen, desk set in my office, lap top computer bag, and my card holder/pen set. I LOVE to surround myself with Disney stuff--it makes me VERY happy!!
