What Disney does best!

I have already posted about Universals great theming and state of the art technology on it's new rides. This thread is about what we love about Disney...what we think they do best. This is NOT a VS. thread, so please do not go there.

1.) I think Disney is the best at special accommodations for their guests. Whether it is wheelchair or ECV access, assistance with hearing or sight issues, or even accommodating guest size, I think Disney is over the top. Knowing all they do to assist others like this is my number one reason for feeling the Pixie dust.

2.) Pyro! Fireworks at Disney are not to be missed.


I have a lot more, but I need to leave some of them to someone else!

Disney is the all time best at setting a mood.

The staff used to be better at keeping up the feel as 'cast' members. This total immersion has fallen off since they started outsourcing a good deal of staff and devoting so much attention to the time-share business instead of the theme parks but still, it's better than anywhere else.

I agree. Many times we'll swing by WDW and not even bother with rides. We'll just hang out for awhile and soak up the atmosphere. Gotta love APs...

Story telling. They go beyond theme and tell a story with EVERYTHING. It;s a story I buy hook line and sinker every time.

Totally agree with #1 but not because they accomodate but because for the most part accomodations aren't a second thought there, but a first thought. Disney is only getting better and better in this area thinking about access for all even before an attraction is built. Gotta love the inclusive thinking that goes on at the Disney company.
I hope to see a continuation of this kind of thinking there.

Yes! From the minute you call for reservations they make it exciting, I think. Your whole mood level shifts. I should call every day just to be put in my "Happy Place"!! We have had issues with CMs in the past but over all it's great. Just getting mail from WDW is fun for me. I guess it's the little things in life! But how do they do it?

No one...and I mean NO ONE...accommodates kids food allergies like Disney does. My wife and I are always impressed how on top of this they are - at EVERY restaurant.

Music....everywhere. Sets the mood, the background, the tone. Rarely are you anywhere at Disney when there is music not playing.

I have to add another one. Transportation at WDW!

While some may not like the buses, I think it is fantastic! They make such a difference for us.

Traveling as a family, if my mother gets tired, we can walk her to the resort bus where she can easily go back to rest and we can continue to play.

I would never in a million years travel alone anywhere, but my DH can put me on a plane to Disney and I know that once I get off, Disney will take care of all my transportation needs I don't have to fear getting lost.

Magical Express is a dream come true for me.
