What different meals do you make using hamburger??

Made beef & broccoli with it last night. Just kind of punted, but it was good. I'm excited to get other ideas from this thread.

I'll also make (sorry if I repeat...)

Taco soup
A taco crescent roll pampered chef thing
Hamburger stew
Chopped steak with mushroom gravy
Chopped steak with BBQ sauce & cheddar
Chopped steak with bleu cheese & bacon
Bacon burger dogs
Empanadas
Dirty rice
Macaroni & cheese with ground beef

Hamburgers
Meatballs
Lasagna or spaghetti pie
Tacos
Cheeseburger soup
Meatloaf
Stuffed pepper soup

We usually only eat ground beef once a week.

With ground beef, I make:
hamburgers
meatballs
meatloaf
beef & noodles (browned beef, tomato sauce, beef gravy, egg noodles)
pig food (browned beef baked with marinara sauce, ricotta & mozz cheese)

Disykt. What I baked bean casserole? Recipe please!

One thing I grew up eating is I guess what everyone calls Beefaroni.

Every 3 weeks or so we would have "Hamburger & Macaroni"

It was basically a pound of ground beef browned with a sliced up onion. Elbow macaroni was boiled then the Hamburger was added to it. Then Tomato Soup was added to that.

We grew up on that stuff.

To this day I still make that about once a month.

One thing we HAD to eat with it was white bread with peanut butter.

Is this what everyone calls Beefaroni?

My Grandma used to make elbow macaroni with hamburger, sauce, green peppers and onions and we called it American Chop Suey. Is that a northeast thing?

My mom still makes this and I am from New England

Salisbury steaks is something I make along with most of what everyone else has posted.

I'm all for easy so mine aren't necessarily "recipes."

Korean Beef is an internet favorite right now.

1 lb hamburger, 1/2 c brown sugar, 1/4 c soy sauce, 3 cloves minced garlic, 1/2 t fresh minced ginger, 1/4 t crushed red pepper.

Brown beef, add other stuff for sauce and cook a bit. Serve over rice with sliced green onions on top.

I like to serve it with sauteed cabbage.

My baked bean casserole is also easy. I can't find the recipe, but you don't really need one. It also has variations all over the internet.

brown a lb of ground beef, add chopped onions, a big can of baked beans and doctor it up with some bbq sauce, etc. Top with canned biscuit dough and cheese and bake.

Although no one asked, I'll throw in Runzas just in case anyone is interested. Thaw a couple of loaves of frozen bread dough. Brown ground beef, add a bunch of chopped onions and cabbage. Season as desired. I use seasoned salt, pepper, cumin, and worstershire sauce. Break each loaf of bread into 8 pieces and stretch out the dough. Fill it with meat to make a "hot pocket" and bake.

I am bored with ground beef, it's always the same! I do make inside out stuffed cabbage in a pot which is the lazy girls stuffed cabbage lol. I am going to re-read all the posts n see if I can find some new ideas.

Taco soup
Tacos
Chili
Sloppy Joe
Hamburger Helper
Lasagna
Spaghetti
Meatloaf
Stuffed peppers (with dirty rice - so good!)
Shepherd's pie
Hamburgers

Interesting - to me hamburger is - well, hamburger. Ground beef is what I use to make a hamburger and other meals. Just an observation. And lettuce is lettuce and doesn't become a salad until it's mixed w/something else.

okay, now I'm getting hungry reading all the responses.

Thanks! All the recipes look good. I will be trying the Korean Beef very soon. :thumbsup2 You have garlic twice, could the second one be ginger by any chance?

Some really great recipes and ideas! Usually I use turkey, sometimes beef. Also I make meatballs with a mixture of ground beef, veal and pork.

One recipe I use ground beef for is Roman Holiday. So easy and so delicious. More of a winter meal.

1 pound cooked elbow macaroni
1 pound cooked ground beef
2 cloves minced garlic
1 minced onion
1 large can tomato puree
1 pound shredded sharp cheddar cheese
5 slices american cheese
1 pound shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated locatelli
salt and pepper

Add all ingredients to a casserole large bowl, mix well- top with some grated and shredded cheese and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees with foil - remove foil last 10 minutes to brown and bubble.

Serve with crusty garlic bread - delicious! Almost as good as lasagna. :)

My Mom always made that and called it goulash. My Mother In Law makes the exact same thing and calls it American Chop Suey. We are all in the NorthEast ;)

I forgot before, the other thing I use hamburger meat for is to make Italian Wedding Soup. The hamburger and breadcrumbs, eggs, parmesan cheese, spices make the tiny meatballs, and they go into the broth made with chicken broth, garlic, escarole and orzo. My very favorite soup.

My DH doesn't like ground beef in anything but burgers. I like to make picadillo (like taco meat), but I haven't in forever. Also shepherd's pie, which I learned is actually called cottage pie if it's made with beef, shepherd's pie with lamb.

When my daughter was in daycare I was browsing the weekly lunch menu and one day they were serving American Chop Suey. I asked the director the next day what in the world they were feeding my child, she laughed and said many parents were asking. She was from the Northeast (and was the menu planner) but transplanted to Texas. I hadnt really ever heard of Goulash either, which is what she described it as.
