What did your pre-school girl wear for Pirate night?

We are doing a 7 night DCL, Nov 3-10. I'm trying to figure out what DD can wear for Pirate Night. She'll just be 4 when we cruise.

DS was Jack Sparrow for Halloween last year so thats a no brainer and DH and I have Pirates of the Caribbean shirts. I have a Jack Sparrow shirt I bought for DD from The Disney Store for this summer, but it just fits her now so I'm not sure if it still will in 4 months. I called the store and they still have them but they aren't on sale, it will be another $16.50. Not sure I wanted to spend that for a couple hour party.

Any suggestions, or should I just buy another shirt? She has a cute Pirate headwrap BTW that she'll wear also.

Help! Advice please.

Does she have a blousy shirt? A long black skirt or maybe black capris? An older brothers pants made raggedy and tied around her waist with twine. Is there any friends she has or a cousin you can borrow items from? Black ballet slippers for her feet.

This is a little overkill, but we got DD this outfit for Pirate night. pirate:

She's going to wear it to the MNSSHP and for Halloween, too, so its not just for Pirate night on the cruise, but its so cute, I couldn't resist! I think my moms words were "over the top". :rotfl:

OMG!!! I just bought my daughter the EXACT SAME outfit. We're going on the Sept. 6-9 cruise -- I had the seller alter it a little bit, but I, too, saw it and could not resist.

I love this!! Where did you find it? We aren't doing a cruise until next year, but would love it for Holloween!

HLAuburn--that is ADORABLE! (And hello from Northeast Mississippi, too!)

OP, here is what my turned-3-on-the-cruise DD and DD5 wore. We found the smaller one on eBay then had the older one made. Wouldn't cost much to make--found the same fabric at Hobby Lobby, pattern for the ears on the boards and fringe. Basic a-line dress, but they loved them and so did I. And we still wear them at home, too.

On the other hand, two years ago for our first cruise, I didn't know about putting out extra money for pirate night, since I didn't know what to expect, so we all just wore black pants, white shirts and I made red cummerbunds and headbands. Cheap, but we still felt "in the theme" by the time we added eye patches or beads. We went in November both times, so stuff got cheap after Halloween! This last one, though, in 11/06, I did a little more planning and spent a wee bit more because I saw how much fun it was for everybody--even my stoic German husband liked dressing up for Pirate Night and getting with the spirit. I was surprised and ELATED! (It's amazing what Disney does to a grown man!)

This makes me want to go back! I think that was part of the most fun of the trip--planning outfits and accessories and stuff for Pirate Night.

Oh that's so cool! I'm glad someone else is as "into" this as I am! :rotfl: Did you get your set yet? She told me ours should be in the mail this week! I can't wait to get it!

What changes did you make? We added little silver coins on the corset and we're going to make DD a fluffy pirate shirt, but other than that, it should look like the picture.

I got mine from eBay! The seller's name is knotforgotten. :thumbsup2 You can also try searching "pirate tutu" or something like that.

Hey neighbor! :wave2:

Your girls are adorable, and those outfits are great! Where did the swords come from - are they props they give you for the picture or did you bring them? And I love the "arrrrggg" faces! :rotfl: Great pictures! pirate:

We had her add the black and white ruffle to the "Minnie" corset. I bought a shirt from Gymboree with puffy sleeves to wear under.

First, a shout out to a fellow SW Pennsylvania from a former SW Pennsylvanian and still a Steelers fan stuck in Bear country.

We chose to repurpose a Tinkerbell costume from previous Halloween and my older son went as Captain Hook (he's missing his hat and hook here). DD was 4 at the time.

got this idea from someone else on this board a few months ago. Go to Little tykes.com and in the search type: pirate costume. They are cute, one size and very cheap !! I paid alittle more in April. The shipping is the worst part. I think the blue costume would be cute for a girl. We are going in oct, DS will turn 5 on cruise, he is skinny and about 43" it fits him fine. They just velcro closed in the back and are one piece so easy to fit . If it is not available and you like it let me know, I had to buy a 2 pk, one black one blue costume and my DS wanted the black one so just going to sale the other at consignment store, can sale to someone on the board just as easy !!

OMG you weren't kidding. I went to the website and that is CHEAP! My daughters POC eyepatch cost more than that. Thanks for the tip!:thumbsup2

Here are my twin 4 yr olds on our cruise in March 2007.

DS1 (on right) is girlie and wanted a skirt, DS2 (on left) is more tomboy and wanted pants. Got both costumes off ebay for $4-$5 ea.

Thank you! The littlest one KEEPS an "arrrggg" face--the "sweet" kid has trouble looking mean!

The swords (and flag) are from home--part of the 40 pound box I shipped ahead!! They were made for the Peter Pan obsessed daughter's birthday party where every child got a sword (made by my German carpenter hubby) so I thought we must include them for pirate night. They ended up really adding to the pictures, I thought, as I used the sitting one for Christmas cards--complete with Yo Ho Ho! caption (my very traditional, conservative family was very non-plussed about a red & black, pirate Christmas card!)

I also did this. I got 2 for my DD2 and 4. They are really cute, easy and cheap.

Our dd4 is very afraid of pirates and fireworks, so on pirate night we are planning on dressing her up in her Tinkerbell outfit - about as close as we can get to a pirate theme/Peter Pan.

Last time we went, dd then 18 months went as Tinkerbell. Not quite Pirate but she loved it. DW and I were pirates. This time I am looking for a pirate costume for her she will be 3.

Thinking of dressing ds who will be 10 months as a parrot?

I think that would be neat...I didn't plan on dressing up for pirate night but now I have changed my mind.

Too bad littletykes.com won't ship to Canada ...they are cute and we are travelling with 2 boys and 2 girls so it would have been neat to have them in similar costumes...especially since with shipping included it was only $16 for all 4 costumes...what a deal!

Those are the most beautiful costumes--ever. Wow.

I love seeing all the people really getting into the feel of Pirate Night. We had some great adult costumes last year on our ship.
