I assume most girls who dress up are in Cinderella attire, but was curious if any of your children or others you saw there had any creative costuming other than Cinderella. I think it would be cute to dress dd as a step-sister, but I'm sure she'll prefer Cinderella's blue ball gown.

My niece (who was 4 at the time, almost 5) wore her Cinderella dress. She had her choice of Ariel, Cinderella or Snow White and, of course, Cindy won out!

We had a cute dress from the parks that had Cinderella and Aurora on it. It was AWESOME as both Anastasia and Drizella commented on it (Anastasia called it an ugly blue stain on her dress).

You can kind of see it in this photo:

My 4 yr old granddaughter is going to wear a stepsister dress that I bought off of ebay.

My girls went as their favorite princesses: Belle and Jasmine.

There were LOTS of girls not in costume, so people needn't feel it's necessary. But my girls did love the attention.

There are some lovely stepsister/stepmother dresses on etsy, I think I'm going to get one for my DD4.

Also check out the disboutique thread, there are some beautiful dresses that people have made.

hope this helps

My daughters wore copies of the stepsisters dresses. You would not imagine the attention they got!
The stepsisters spent over 30 minutes with us. Sat at our table and put their feet up- even told other children to "go away, we're sitting here with our friends. They are real princesses." It was kind of mean- but SO funny! I guess if anyone can get away with it- it's Druscilla and Anastasia.
They got my DH to dance with them and kept referring to the size of his "castle" and asking me if I was done with him yet! It was just so funny.
The pictures we have are priceless.
I can give you the information for the designer who made them for us. I think they were about $65.00 per dress? I can't remember! PM me if you need the information.

I would absolutely love for dd to wear a stepsister dress as I figured most who do dress will dress as Cinderella and it would be more unique to have her as a stepsister. I will still let dd pick what she wants, though I will tell her your story. Not sure she'll "get it" though as she's only five and has never been to Disney yet. Maybe I could dress as a step sister LOL! Wish I had room in our car for all these clothes I want to bring!

I made this for my daughter to wear:

It did not get as big of a reaction as I thought it might. My son's got more attention from the stepsisters. They wanted to marry them :) I have not made this years outfit yet.

DD wore a blue sundress that I had made. Cinderella commented on how beautiful she was and that she liked headbands too. Drizella told DS that they should get married and DD could be their maid. Anastasia commented on the ugly blue dress. DD didn't like Drizella for the maid comment and she only liked Anastasia because she wore pink. It was quite funny.

DD worn her Snow White costume. It was our last night and THAT was the costume she wanted, so who was I to refuse :)

My daughter is older 15 with autism so she still likes character meals. She is too old to dress up so we bought her a beautiful crown off ebay for $50. Similar would have been $200 in the mall. Cinderella loved it and told her it was more beautiful than hers. I wore my Mickey wedding ears as it was our anniversary and a nice dress.

My dd wore her cinderella dress and got lots of attention from the characters. She even danced with Cinderella (that was an accident though..it was a mobscene that night and we were walking through the restaurant to leave and cinderella grabbed her to dance) Step sister comes up to us "hey cinderella, cleanin' yet?"

There were girls wearing everything that night..all different princess dresses, regular attire...whatever she's comfy in.

I would LOVE to dress DD6 and DD4 as the stepsisters. But I'm not sure I can justify the cost, because I don't think they'd wear those as much as a Cindy dress when we get home. I'll have to ask them what they think!

I was trying to decide between a Cindy t-shirt with a tulle ballerina-style skirt, or their fancy Christmas dresses (we're going right after Thanksgiving) so we could get some Christmas photos with the decorations in the lobby. I also thought about taking them in Christmas dresses for photos in the lobby, and then changing them into princess outfits for dinner, but I can already imagine how much grief my DH would give me for that! :rotfl: We're also going to try to do Akershus and CRT, so they'll be in full princess gear on those days.
