We will be traveling with 5 kids age 2-5. What did YOUR kids wear for semi-formal night???

Christy

This is not to debate what is proper to wear on Semi-Formal, I just want to know what your kids wore :thumbsup2

Edited to add--I would LOVE to see pictures of your little ones on Semi-Formal night!

Our three boys wore suits on formal night. However, most of the boys in the room had slacks and a nice button-up shirt. Very few had jackets/suit coats. We're going again this year and will not have them wear their suits (they've outgrown them anyway!). Instead, we'll have them wear nice pants with a shirt & tie (no jacket).

My DS (5) wore a long sleeved button down top and navy trousers; my DD (almost 7) wore a sleeveless dress. Though I took 100s of photos on the ship, this is the only one of them from semi formal nite!

On formal nite, DD and I were in gowns and DH and DS were in tuxes.

(This was a photo my mom took of our photo being taken by the ship's photographers LOL).

I saw many young girls dressed as the princesses on formal night and it looked really nice.
Boys mostly slacks, button up shirt with a tie and a few with vests, but I rarely saw any boys with jackets on. Just a couple. That is on 10 DCL cruises.

For our cruise in August, I bought our 3 yr. old "dressy" dresses from Baby Gap and JC Penney's. For her shoes, I bought her "big girl" heels and she loved that. I found great deals at Pennies and several of the dresses came with matching hair pieces and scrunchies. I noticed that most of the other little ones were dressed very much the same. As for small boys, I seen most in dressy pants( khakis and darker dress pants) with nice button down long and short sleeved shirts. Another place that has great dressier clothes at reasonable prices is Baby Depot.

My little one was only 2 when we went on a 7-night with a semi-formal night. But, I just had her wear her Easter dress on that night. It was a little dressier than her sundresses, so it worked for her.

We are cruising in January 2007. :woohoo: We will have 5 children with us total. Here is what we are planning for them to be wearing for formal night.

Girl aged 13- not really sure what she will be wearing. She's pretty picky about clothes these days.

Boy aged 10- khaki pants, dress shirt and we just found him a boys' sized Disney tie

Girl aged 8- dressing like a princess

Girl aged 5- also dressing like a princess

Boy aged 16 months- I hope to find him something after Easter or after Christmas that's dressy like a tie and vest and pants outfit

Hope this helps you out some!!!

Semi formal night. I actually switched our outfits because I wanted to get the lifetouch pictures with the burgundy. :)

Oh, DD wore the dress in my sig on formal night when she was 4.

For formal night, both of our boys wore their tuxes and for semi-formal, just the tux pants, shirt and Mickey Mouse vests.

DS (age 5 months at sailing) wore a tux. Got one sized 6-9 months and he's already outgrown it :confused3 We found quite a good selection on eBay where I also found my Mickey vest which all the CMs liked. I think the tux was a little warm for him as we had to take the jacket off when getting the formal pictures taken but the silvery vest went well with my tux and DW's black and white formal. We saw two boys about 7 and 9 wearing tuxedos with tennis shoes! Must have been their compromise with mom & dad :rotfl:

For semi-formal night, our boys also wore nice khaki pants and long-sleeve shirts. :thumbsup2
