What did you have for dinner last night?

Great googliemooglies Skiingfast! There sure would be a lot of elk tears shed around here if anyone knew they were eating anything even remotely resembling Bambi! Or if I even *mentioned* *joked* *tried to joke* :scared1:
tacos would be history here...
It'd take years for my kids to recover...

Pixiewings - I'm ashamed to admit I use bottled coleslaw dressing! But I did attempt something close to Oscar's baked potato soup. I thought it turned out excellent, but I had made it for my inlaws and come to find out they don't like cream cheese or sour cream, both of which I used! Oh well....more for us! :thumbsup2

Tonight is pineapple orange shrimp and linguini. French bread.

I second that sentiment regarding Elk. If I was starving, I would not touch that with a ten foot fork. No offense to Elk eaters, but please do not serve that to me. I will eat spam in a can first.

For dinner last night it was spaghetti. Garlic bread, and of course Parmesan cheese. Yummy! :)

I'm not a vegetarian and I've seen more game meat walk through my yard in the last few days than I could eat in a few years. My area is not hurting because it lost an elk to provide food.

Thank goodness tonight I had pulled pork with spicy bbq sauce.

Skiingfast -it was all meant in jest. Bon appetit! My kids would freak out because they insist I'm always trying to poison them with my "homecooking" lol. I'd try something gamey, just to try it, just never had the opportunity, I'm a citygirl. Have tried rattlesnake, quail, frog legs though. :cool1:
Edited to say: and if stranded with Cody Lundin out in the wilderness, I'd definitely try some elk!
Tonight I think I'll just stick to some Wild Horse *wine*.

Tonight is bbq chicken, bbq pineapple, tabouli with lime and cherry tomatoes. Poisonous I'm sure.

Sometimes bottled is fine. :) But this was so far above bottled I will never go back! So easy to make too, which is good for me because I've been working so much lately. :) I still have some cabbage...I think I'm going to make more! :)

My kids wouldn't eat elk either....I've had it, my Dad hunts, it's good, gamey but good. My kids would hate me forever tho so it's just not worth it...I'll keep making traditional tacos from good old hamburger meat, sometimes I'm able to sneak in ground turkey but not often. lol

Last night was DD14's 15th bday, she wanted Red Robin so we had RR. :) YUM is right!!!! It was super good!!

Spaghetti, it's good and it filled me up fast.

Pixiewings - your recipe sounds much better than bottled coleslaw dressing! I think I'm bordering on gourmet when I add raisins, :lmao:

My ds has been wanting to go to RR but we never take them to restaurants outside of DLR for fear of......humiliation - they used to be too out of control in restaurants, but I think they could chill now. We do go to the one by Homewood and they usually fall asleep at the table! That's the only way to take them anywhere - asleep! What should I order there - - suggestions???

Spaghetti is my go-to meal. I never have less than 5 jars of spaghetti sauce in my pantry. Safe to say I need therapy for being a spaghetti/marinara sauce hoarder.

**Meatloaf** tonight with meat! (turkey burger) :hippie:
mashed Yukon Gold potatoes
broccoli
garlic bread

Oh and a little veggie burger mixed in, of course with a packet of dry ranch dressing and a packet of Lipton onion and a can of Durkee onions, great recipe!

I've heard RR has unlimited fries, I don't like fries to much but may be something for you. But bottomless rootbeer floats too, and I could do that. I always have wanted to try it but never have, there isn't one close to me.

I had soup for dinner. After I noticed what I thawed was not what I planned to prepare.

I like the Bleu Ribbon Burger, and I like the BBQ Chicken wrap with french onion soup as well. :) Your dinner sounds yum!

Yes, they have unlimted fries, and they now have sweet potato fries for .79 cents extra! I don't know if those have free refills tho. We get the freckled lemonade (strawberry lemonade) quite a bit and that has free refills, the shakes don't and I have no idea if the root beer floats do or not but flavored iced teas do have free refills. :) I like the peach or raspberry iced tea, they are good.

Last night we BBQ'd for DD's 15th bday party with friends, I had a burger with pasta salad and chips. More yum! lol

I have no idea what I'm making tonight but since it's 8 I need to get it done....lol

Oh great on the sweet potato fries! Does that Bleu Ribbon burger have blue cheese? DH would love that. DS and DD would love unlimited regular fries.
Root beer floats are the best! I had heard A&W drive ins were going out of business??? :(

I lucked out today, my neighbor brought over a tray of lasagna! Good thing since we have a buseeee day.

Happy bday to your daughter Pixiewings!

Yup, the Bleu Ribbon Burger has bleu cheese, steak sauce and onion strings, I always take off the tomato (I only like home grown tomatoes for things like sandwiches, burgers and salads) and ask for pickles on the side. It's very good!!!
they also have a Teriyaki burger that's very good, teriyaki sauce, pineapple, tomato, lettuce...of course I take off the tomato but it's still very good! :)

Last night I made lasagne for dinner, Stouffer's frozen, the fam. loves it!! We also had some TX Toast.

Yum! Pixie, that all sounds very good.

Last night I noshed upon ........... wait for it .................. yes ...... again! Pepperoni pizza with pineapple. I added Dole (Of course!) Pineapple to it. Extra delish that way!
It was from Little Cesar's Pizza ....Pizza! Pizza! Yum! Yum!
A large Pepperoni Pizza was only $4.31. At a price like that, it is practically a give away.

I've never live near a Little Ceasar's except in college. Stopping in for a pizza that was hot and ready was luxorious.

I had spaghetti. Because tonight I ate what I wanted. Made a good spinach salad with slice black and green, pimento stuffed ovlives and artichokes.

Well, we didn't get to eat the lasagna, DH has a special diet for next week's medical test and no cheese is allowed! So I went to the grocery store, being the Stepford Wife that I am :rotfl: and got a rotisserie chicken, put it on the garage floor along with the other groceries.......the neighbor's dog came wandering in and ate the chicken!!!!! The dog ate our dang dinner!!!! So when the owner finally came to get the dog, I told her how her dog ate the entire rotisserie chicken, allshe said was thank you for holding her!!!! She left!!!! Of course I silently yelled at her to myself, "AND WHAT ARE YOU HAVING FOR DINNER TONIGHT **LADY**!!!!!!! NEVER MIND ABOUT MY KIDS!!!! HOPE YOUR DOG'S HAPPY!"

Looks like the go-to spaghetti tonight. Texas Toast does sound good Gisele.

It was good. :) Even tho it's frozen, it's still a good lasagne. :) And TX Toast is always a hit! :) I love pepperoni and pineapple pizza.....everyone in the family things I'm crazy but when I worked at Pizza Hut I had that quite a bit. LOVE it! Sometimes I'll get a pizza for DBF and myself, I get half ham & pineapple and half pepperoni & pineapple...good stuff! I also like pepperoni and jalapeno! YUM! Our Little Cesar's has all large pizzas for $5, can't beat it!

You should have had what you wanted...it was your day after all! :) You chocoholic you. lol

I probably would have said that....lol OMG how rude!!

We had hamburgers last night, we had a few left from the BBQ that needed to be cooked and eaten so I made them last night. I had mine with some cottage cheese and chips on the side.

Sorry about the naughty doggie from next door eating your dinner. I almost cannot believe that happened. Because one would think that their neighbors would have better control than that over their pooch's. All I can say is I hope that dog has explosive poo. And I don't mean Winnie! All over his owners living room carpet! Poor dog.... Poor no dinner for you... well not the chicken anyway. Maybe the dogs owner did not hear you? Which I doubt, she was just not interested in replacing your dinner. Heck... I would have replaced the chicken, added sides, plus dessert and maybe even drinks... even if it meant I did without something myself. Some people are just so thoughtless. And rude as a result. For unless she was a starvin' Marvin herself, with no deniro, she ain't!

Thanks for comiserating! Yah, I wanted to say to her, "HOW ABOUT YOU SEND US A PIZZA!!?!?" :furious: My poor dh, since he has that special diet for a week, didn't have his rotisserie chicken sandwich the next day. I feel bad for him, all the stuff he can't eat for a week, that just made it worse. The lady said probably her grandkids left the gate open and the dog got out and I told her more than once, "your dog ate the whole chicken, I hope she doesn't get sick, but I guess she seemed hungry, she must have been out wandering around for a long time and was really hungry?" I even had asked her husband on the phone (I called the number on the dog's tag) and asked him if it was ok that the dog ate chicken since my dog has food allergies - hint hint. Yah, that's how people are here, doesn't surprise me one bit, although I still roll my eyes every flippin time! I can't wait to move back to the "normalcy" of southern California!

I guess chicken burgers tonight, all this talk about burgers.

I need dinner ideas with no seafood, no milk or cheese, lower salt.
Any suggestions? We did spaghetti last night. This is a tough one, I'm so used to smothering everything with cheese for my kids.

Dumb dog, no, dumb owner.
Grilled Chicken Salads?

I had cheesesteak with spinach salad. Need to use up the spinach.

I had popcorn.....lol I wasn't very hungry last night. Everyone else had leftovers. :)
