With your childhood trophies, plaques, & awards? I am cleaning out my basement for a move 20 hours away and I need to get rid of most of my stuff. I want to toss em in the trash, but I feel kind of sad about it. What did you do with yours?
I had 3 large boxes of trophies, and not enough room to store them. I removed the plaque on the front of the trophy and threw the trophies away. Most of them were broken after 15 years being stored in the attic. I plan on getting an album of some sort and with my sport pics , put together a memory book.
I put mine on the fireplace mantel 27 years ago when we moved into this house. They have since been joined by my kids trophys. Great memories, would never every get rid of them, but I suspect when my now adult kids buy their own homes they will come to collect theirs.
My 1968 Little League Championship trophy is right next to my son's 1998 Little League Championship trophy.
I took the engraved name plate off of all my old cheerleading trophies and had new ones made to hand out to my little cheerleaders. This was 7 years ago and I just saw one of my cheerleaders all grown up and she said she still has her trohpy.
I kept them. They are buried deep somewhere in my Dad's attic.
Now, my ex's?? When I found out he was cheating on me, I took them to a dumpster about 20 minutes away. He played baseball his whole life, went on to play semi-pro, and was scouted by someone, who he turned down because he wanted his "last" summer at the beach. Yes, he's always been a moron.
Every once in a while, I feel a little bad about it, but then I get over it pretty quick.
Thankfully when I was growing up trophies were not in vogue so I mostly have plaques, which are all in a box in our basement. DH had BOXES of trophies that we donated to the Special Olympics many years ago. They were THRILLED to get them so look into that too.
