THREE in a row??? :worship: :worship: :worship: You are my HERO!!!!

And I can see where Serenity Bay WOULD be a different experience without all the kids running around. Sounds absolutely blissful....:cloud9::cloud9:

Hi Karin Tom's drink looks anything but DEPRESSING!!!:rotfl2:I just added my Albany pix to my TR!!!

It was not depressing at all! Right the opposite! ;) :lmao:

Thanks for more pix - love them! :thumbsup2

YES! 11 nights on board the Dream - a dream come true! (Trying to find ways to incorporate the word dream as often as I can - it was easier with wonder! :rotfl2:)
You would not believe how friendly the sales rep on board the Wonder was, after we booked the third cruise! :rotfl2:

Actually Castaway Cay was the one thing we were NOT looking forward to before our first cruise. As kids we were dragged to Italy every summer and spent our vacation on an overly crowded beach - no umbrella! .... so spending a day at the beach was not looking like something we wanted to do.
Luckily we sailed as part of a group of Disneyfans in 2009 on our first cruise. We went ALL the way - Fish Extender and all and since most of us didn't have kids we decided to meet at Serenity Bay.
When Tom and I reached the family beach we were like - okay, we'll take a walk and back to the ship! But then we got to Serenity Bay and it was .......... well, empty would be a good term!
We loved it! Drinks being served, music from the bar, shower and restroom just a few steps away - barbeque with NO line! What else could you ask for.

We booked a b2b for 2010 and a triple cruise for 2011 - I wonder what is in store for 2012! :rotfl2: ;)

I'm leaving on Jan 24th for 9 days at the World. Your posts and photos are gearing me up!! I check it everyday

Still Day 15, August 28

Disney Wonder - Dinner at Parrot Cay

That days dinner was at Parrot Cay. We arrived in time to listen to Mr. Know It All's "sum up" of the cruise. Thankfully had thought we would not understand English all to well, so he mostly talked to the other couple at the table.

We kept our mouths full, so we would not "be able" to talk too much! :rotfl2:

Tom had the Baked Crab Dip Martinique, Jumbo Lump Crab Baked in Creamy Cheese Sauce served with colorful Tortilla and Plantain Chips. Needless to say I needed to try a little bit and it was very good.

IMG_6744.jpg

I had ordered the Jamacain Marinated Chicken Tenderloins in a Sizzling Spicy Jerk Sauce with a Chunky Bleu Cheese Dressing. They wre so delicious! Not too spicy, just a little kick and they went very well with the Bleu Cheese Dressing, which was very strong.

IMG_6749.jpg

My main course was the Pan – Seared Grouper with Baby Shrimp Lemon Butter and served with a Saffron- Herb Basmati Rice and Snow Peas. I don't know how they do it, but the fish was still moist in the middle and so good. The rice was nice, a little too sticky for my liking, and the shrimp were tender and ever so lightly spiced!

IMG_6751.jpg

Tom ordered the Mixed Grill, Grilled Sirloin Steak, Lamb Chop, Bacon Wrapped Sausage and Jumbo Shrimp on Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus and Grilled Tomato with a Cabernet Mushroom Sauce. Now, let me tell you, that was a HUGE helping! But the meat was cooked perfectly, and the shrimp were really tender. The mash and sauce together were :cloud9:

IMG_6753.jpg

For his dessert Tom chose the No Sugar Added Pina Colada Bread Pudding. Not as good as the bread pudding I had had 2 days before, but quite a nice change from the usual desserts.

IMG_6755.jpg

Once I had seen it on the menu I knew I wanted the Lemon Meringue Pie
with Kumquat Sauce. I LOVE everything and anything lemon and that lemon Meringue Pie was right up my street. Sweet and gooey meringue over tart lemon curd on a shortcrust shell! Yum, yum!
Mr. Know It All deemed it the worst dessert ever! Thank god, not all paletes are equal! ;)

After dinner we walked over to the Atrium to watch the "Fairwell Show". All the characters and the performers of the shows came out to say goodbye.

IMG_6770.jpg

When we got back to our stateroom most people already had their suitcases put outside their rooms and it was wonderful to come back to a still decorated door and all our belongings still IN the cupboards! Don't you just love back to back cruises!

Arturo our stateroom host had left us another little surprise!

Next up - Disney Wonder - breakfast at Parrot Cay

This thread and a couple others have helped my convince the friend I'm traveling with that I'm not totally insane for wanting to take pictures of the food. :lmao:

You will find that there are quite a lot of people taking photos of their food at WDW!
During our cruise we were seated next to a Chinese family and when I started taking photo of our food, the little girl looked, smiled and then turned to her daddy and said, "See, other people do it too, not just mommy!" We were all !

No, you are not insane for wanting to take pictures of food - you are doing us all a HUGE favour! :thumbsup2

Day 16, August 29

Disney Wonder - Breakfast at Parrot Cay

While there are normally NO "fixed" breakfast locations, on the last day of your cruise you are invited to have breakfast at the restaurant you have dined the night before.

So our breakfast was at Parrot Cay. Since we did not have to actually "leave" we slept in a bit and went down to the restaurant. Mr. Know-It-All was already there and looking forward to riding It's A Small World. Still closed, dude, but you'll find out in the end! :rotfl2:

IMG_6783.jpg

I chose to go with Route 66, Scrambled eggs, bacon, grilled sausage, grilled ham, and hash browns for my breakfast. Well, don't expect too much from it - a very regular breakfast.

IMG_6786.jpg

I think Tom choser wiser than I did, he had the Chef's Farewell, a large open faced omelet topped with barbecued chicken, green peppers, onions and melted Swiss cheese. It looked nicer and taster nicer as well. ;)

IMG_6784.jpg

Every table received several of these fruit plates as well. We didn't try any of the fruit, just didn't feel like it.

First cruise over, but another one to start right now!

Hi Stefy!

I am glad you are feeling better again! :woohoo:

That breakfast was the LAST with Mr. Know It All! We were in for a wonderful surprise that evening! ;) Don't want to spoil the surprise! :goodvibes

You are going to love Castaway Cay! Just be sure to get to Serenity Bay! It is the BEST!!!!! :thumbsup2

I think Castaway Cay is one of the highlights of this Cruise we cannot wait to do and Serenity Bay is top of the to do list of CC as being an adult only beach is right up our street :teeth:

Oh btw we sent you and Tom a little something in the post on Friday so be sure to look out for it next week :)

The grouper and pie look absolutely delicious to me...shame Mr Know It All clearly knows nothing about good food nor ride rehabs:lmao:

12 days on the Dream...serious cruise envy here! You need to call yourself Disney Dreamer. Think that name suits you:hug:

Now can I ask a question about the food on the Wonder: was it served hot or luke warm? Just a little bugbear of mine

Ruth x

Oh, and let me tell you that you and Dave are two naughty kids!!!! Sending a little something! :goodvibes  Thank you in advance!

Mr. Know It All stated that he was a lover of "simple delights" (steak, potatoes and cookies), so this was a bit out of his comfort zone! :lmao:

Need to think about that new name - Disney Dreamer! Hm, has a nice ring to it! :thumbsup2

About the food on the Wonder, pre-plated food was served hot, the only issue I had is with buffet food. Since they hand you a luke warm plate, if you take too long in the line, once you get to the table the food is no longer hot. But I have that same issue with most WDW buffets. Food at the snack locations (Goofy's, aso) was always hot!

Day 16, August 29

Disney Wonder - Lunch at Parrot Cay

Our second cruise had just started. Since we were sailing back to back we were allowed back on board right after they had cleared the ship and we were asked to spend the time until the "other guests" were allowed on board at the Cove Cafe. Drinks and an array of sweet treats were free for us B2B cruisers! :goodvibes Hope they continue this on the Dream.

At around noon we walked down to Parrot Cay to have lunch. Now there are two buffets, Parrot Cay and Beach Blanket. What's the difference you ask? At Parrot Cay you are assigned a table and served drinks, while you fetch your food from the buffet - much more leisurely than Beach Blanket! :thumbsup2 The food is the same by the way!

IMG_6789.jpg

Tom's plate, lots of salads, roast beef, grilled steak, shrimp and a piece of salmon. Let me tell you, he cleaned that plate! So he must have liked it.

IMG_6787.jpg

My plate, pretty similar to what I had had before. Green leaves with balsamic vinaigrette, coleslaw, eggsalad, potatoes, shrimp, veggies, a small piece of salmon and another breaded pork "Schnitzel". There is also some cocktail sauce. I LOVED my lunch. And so much more relaxed with a waiter refilling our glasses!

Needless to say we needed two of these ........

IMG_6791.jpg

Bahama Mama, welcome drink on board the Wonder.

IMG_6792.jpg

My desserts, peach cobbler with vanilla custard, a chocolate profiterole and a piece of yummy chocolate cake.

IMG_6794.jpg

Tom had some peach cobbler and vanilla custard too, another chocolate profiterole and he had a fruit tart.

IMG_6795.jpg

And he just could not resist the fresh fruit salad.

After the lifeboat drill we went to watch the sailaway party.

Next up - Disney Wonder - dinner at Artist's Palette

This is a cliffhanger, Karin! I can't wait to hear what your "pleasant surprise" was at dinner... I bet it wasn't the reappearance of Mr. K-I-A! ;)

Karin, I am still here. Work has been awfully busy, I wanted to get my TR done and now I'm trying to catch up on all the ones I'm subscribed to. Everything the last couple of updates looks mostly scrumptious and you know how much we want to try the cruise (2013 for our 30th anniversary is my goal).

Karin - I'm really loving your cruise report! The food looks good...just sorry you got saddled with Mr Know It All. Hopefully the company on the 2nd cruise was better?

I'll be keeping up with your reports through Friday, but then we leave for Russia! Yes, we finally got the call to make our first trip! We fly through Copenhagen on the way over, and through Munich on the way back. Familiar with either of those airports? Anything good to eat? :lmao:
