I remember reading here, somewhere, that you need to pack detergent and other things (what were they?) in some special way because they will cause problems during check in (or something?)

As you can see, I can't actually remember what I read about it, but maybe someone out there knows what I am talking about.

Does anyone remember this topic?

Thanks,

Dawn

I have no idea what your talking about, however I think I can help with another idea for you!....when we went to wdw in april, I packed the individual tab's of laundry soap....I believe it was purex brand, and I've seen the tide ones as well. They come individually packaged in plastic, (well, 2 tablets in each packet)..you can guess how many loads of laundry your going to do and pack that much...

I remember reading about someone who packed some powdered detergent in a ziploc baggie and had trouble with airline security because it looked like drugs. Maybe that is what you read.

I packed those Purex tabs- they are great. I usually bring powder- these were so much easier!

The detergent tablets are great for packing, I take Tide tablets with me when flying..However I have found that sometimes two of the tablets is not enough detergent for a full load WDW dirty clothes as we call them..so you might want to pack a few extras, three tablets works better for me when using them.

I just got back from shop rite and they don't carry any kind of tablets. Where do you get them?

Laundry tablets are soooo convenient!

Keep looking around at area grocery stores or stores like Target and Wal-Mart. I think I got my last box of them at either Target or Safeway.

I had trouble finding the tablets, but found some with the travel sized items - toothpaste, shampoo, etc.

I'va always taken the tabs in the pst, but they simply cannot be found in my area any longer. Reading on another thread, I saw that others were having the same problems.
Hope you have better luck.

I just got some Wisk tablets at Target--very convenient! They are still out there, at least in some areas. :)

I don't know maybe I was just lucky but we were there in May and I packed Tide with bleach premeasured in indivual ziploc bags and then put them in a small rubbermaid container. I wrote in BIG letters on the outside of the ziploc bag TIDE. TSA did screen my bag. I didn't notice that my detergent had been touched as much I as noticed the hair conditioner and the strawberry scented body glitter being dumped in my bag when I opened it at WDW!:( I hadn't read about not packing detergent and never in a zillion years would have thought it to be confused with drugs. I would think it would smell differently but what do I know...ya learn something new everyday

I went to my 99c store and found the little boxes of deterget, they have different brands : cheer, tide, clorox 2 and downy softener. they have them 4 for a dollar (bought 10.00 dollars worth of detergent!!!) they are very convenient to travel, and also convenient to take to do the laundry instead of taking the "big box"of detergent. Each box of ultra detergent is good for one load.:D

i couldn't find tablets either when i went looking, but i found a really small bottle of liquid detergent at walmart for .97! i would say it held enough for about 5 or 6 loads. it was small enough to fit inside a gallon sized ziploc bag.

i can't remember the brand...sun something?

I found a box of the Purex laundry tabs at my local supermarket. I also packed some dryer sheets in a sandwich bag and put both laundry items in a ziploc bag. Worked out well.

....I'm done lookin'!!! I'll buy it from the vending machines at the resort.

I'm going to try today-----one more time!!!! The site you posted lists a CVS near me!!!

Gritzel4,
Thank you so much for posting the Tide site! I have 2 locations I will be trying this week. Do you use these tabs? Do you use more than one in the same load? Thanks again!! Counting the days 'til our trip to the sunshine state!:sunny:
