What details do you really love about Pirates?

POTC... the classic DL attraction that generations adore... what little things about the ride do you just love?

I'll get it started with a couple things;

I love the skeleton sailor right by the skeleton bar and I love the ship / fortress battle scene with the shadows sword fighting.

Best of all I've always really loved the dog with the keys and the sailors trying to woo the pooch. It would have been cool to have a Jack Sparrow in there not caring, like in the first film! ha ha... I liked that scene as it was my favorite reference to the ride in the film.

Tons of great details here, let's hear them! Arrgh! ...or walk the plank!

My favorite thing about the ride are the drops that enter you into the life of the pirates. It's like you leave one place and go to another. I love it.

I could go on and on about this...POTC is one of our favorites.
I love the detail in the sky..especially the clouds.
I love the detail on the pirates faces...and how their eyes follow you, especially when you're going under the bridges.
I love the hidden mickeys we found last week....
The voices of the pirates...how they really fit the motion of their mouths moving. And most of all...that musty pirate smell.

I like the old pirates with the cats... "here kitty kitty kitty" LOL Where their in jail trying to get the key from the dog has always been a favorite part of mine. That dog has always seemed so real!

I really love the new part with Davy Jones, that is such a cool effect! Not to mention Captain Jack!

But I love that musty smell too, that is DL to me!

I like how you can "feel" the cannon balls whizzing past your head.

I like the fact that nearing the end of the ride when the city is on fire you go under the falling apart city and some of the 2X4's are swaying like they are about to fall down. Thats a wicked effect. I also have to agree with others that the smell of the water has that cool musty smell. I looked it up and its a chemical they put in the water for sanitization and its called "Ozone"

Oh yeah. And the musty smell is especially strong in that room! It's like old musty wood. Smells like my friend's grandpa's garage, when we were kids. All old and dusty smelling.

I also love the dirty foot of the pirate on top of the bridge- my kids always notice and say, "dirty foot dirty foot"! Even the bottoms of their feet were thought about.

And I love the skeleton's warning in the beginning..."thar be squalls ahead". YEP!

My favorites are all things I want to take home with me

The pirates smell
The Portrait of the Pirate Wench above the bar (Why won't disney sell a copy of here, I want that picture!!)
The first cave room, I WILL have a pool like that room one day, but without a flume ride sadly

I also love " We wants the red head", "Carlos don't be Chicken" and the "Stow your weapons" sign

The dirty foot pirate was always a favorite of mine growing up. Now my son plugs his nose and makes sure all of us do too as we go under.
Did you know there's a hidden mickey on the jug he's holding? Right below the flame? It's kinda hard to see and you might have to ride it once or twice before you see it. The bottle is very dirty/dusty..but there's a clean spot in the shape of a Mickey.

Nothing quite like the moment you leave the caves and come out on the battle. Cannons blarring. Near misses all around you. The captain yelling at the defenses (I like the Movie additions and FX improvements a lot, but as I was writing this, I could only hear the original capt in my head and I'll probably always remember the original when thinking about the ride). That moment sets the tone for me and no matter how many times I ride it, I always feel the excitement of the ride at that point (And truly makes me feel like a kid again).

Wow, This is my fave. ride. We redo this ride first 4 days in a row...The second day we were dreamed Fast passes...Then the third day we were dreamed fast passes again...LOVE that ride haha

I love every moment, from start to finish. I love walking under the bridge to get into line and seeing the "Pirates of the Carribean" sign. I love the old guy in the rocking chair playing the guitar. I love all the Jack sparrow characters. The new Davy Jones effect too (my daughter loves to reach up and touch the smoke). I love the dog w/the keys. I love the women chasing the pirates. I love the music. I love hearing "dead men tell no tales." I love the smell. I love the sky. Ok, I'll shut up now

I also wish there was a Jack in the jail cell....

DD told me yesterday when we were on POTC that when she was little she would always duck under "dirty foot" because she thought the dirt would fall off and hit her in the eye!

Gotta love "we wants the redhead" too!! I could go on and on....

I love the music towards the end of the ride, how it gets a little jazzy. I suppose it could also be the beginning of the ride since you hear it in line and it's while you're waiting...

I also love the smell, the skeleton sitting up in bed looking at the map, the "We wants the redhead!!" and the chase scenes in that area, the dunking scene with the wife opening and closing the shutters and then the end, with the dog & the keys.

The "cheetoes" crab in the first scene.
The sprinkled donuts on the crows nest in the bar scene. (at least they look like donuts heh)
Silhouette shadows fighting on top of the fort
"Carlos, don't be cheeeken!"
Fireflies along the bayou

oh, and the last BIG drop at the end of the ride

I love seeing the old man sitting on his porch just before you turn for the drops, and I love the water falls just after the drops.

I love the beginning with the bayou and the fireflies, I love to look up at the sky. It really feels like you are in another place.
