What CROCS did for me!!

Well, alrighty then...I was clueless until yesterday what crocs even looked like because I'd seen the various threads here and assumed they were similar to the Tevas. Well, duh! Big pink crocs! Yesterday at the local WallyWorld I saw a girl with a pair of pink Beach...I thought they were the Payless knock-offs and she (in a somewhat offended voice) said, "No, these are crocs!"

So this morning I searched the DIS for this thread to read all about it...found the link...located a store nearby...went to check 'em out...they only carry the Beach, but I tried on the M (8-9) and it fit good. But, I really like the Nile, so came home and searched the croc site and located stores within 100 miles, only one carries the Nile and when I called them they had one pair left in the sea blue...eh. So, I ordered...pearl white Niles.

Now, after reading all 58 pages, I'm just praying for pixie dust that they arrive before our June 1 departure. I'd really like to do a test run for a few days. Plus, not sure if they will be the correct size...in the Beach M, my big toe was at the end, but width was fine and I am a wide foot. I spoke with a croc rep on the phone about the new whole sizing and we settled on the 9 so that I'd have ample length rather than hangover toes.

So, for those of you who ordered directly from the crocs site, can anyone give me a time frame on when I might expect my Niles? The croc rep said I should have them before we leave, but didn't sound too convincing. I'm seriously thinking about driving the 1 1/2 hours to the nearest store that sells the Nile style just to check...they said they had a shipment on order and I'm itching for a wee road trip anyway.

Thanks!

I got a pair of baby blue Crocs for mom's day from the DS's. And I thought they were a little tight/short on my left foot. However to my suprise, they have stretched a bit longer... I don't know why I am suprised, since we have all talked about how the back strap is stretchable. I just never think of the footbed as adjusting to fit in the length. It took 2-3 days of wearing, and when I put the same pair on this morning they felt great. Strange, hu?

I can't believe it!!! I went to Payless and they had the berk style sandals knock-offs NOT Beach or Nile style. So I'm really ticked now. They didn't feel right. The 9 too big and the 8 I was right on the rim of the foot bed. They have a lip all the way around them. I'm having no luck with these darn shoes. I want another pair but don't want to pay through the teeth for them to ship from US.

Oh well going to another mall today perhaps they'll have the Moc Croc type.

Momsgoofy, and others....

Just want to give you a heads up... When you get your Crocs, please, do not "overdo"! When you are first given orthotics you are told to increase your length of wear time, an hour at a time... and believe me, these feel so good, you think, why wait???

Trust me, do your feet and back a favor, and slowly work up to the length of time, after a few days, you can wear them all day, every day...

and all those wearing the nock offs, no problem, but for me I've put my faith in the research, and the heel base of the mold of the real crocs due to my feet "issues"...

 Dchef the originator of the thread!
:love1:

:rotfl2:

Well, my mom said I never had any patience :sad2: and she was correct!! I woke up this morning like one of the Blues Brothers...on a mission from God. :moped: After reading the thread, I decided to call each of the 10 potential locations in my area that MIGHT sell crocs. :smooth: Still the nearest location that sells the Nile is 2 hours away - southwest. The local Journeys store connected me to one 2 hours away - northwest, which only sells the Beach style, but did tell me there is a crocs kiosk in their mall that recently opened. :Pinkbounc The mall is only 20 mins. from my Dsis's house, so I have her heading to investigate which styles the kiosk carries. :cool1: She was chekcing them out on the website while I was describing the shoes to her...she's impressed and plans to try a pair herself. So, if she tells me that they have the Nile, I'm on a road trip!! :moped:

In the meantime, DH and my day together...the first we've had alone in quite some time...ended up lunch and a trip to the only location nearby that had the Beach style in the color I liked for it...khaki. Luckily, the store, Packlite (sporting goods) did have them and in my size! :cool1: And the lowest price I've seen...$24.99 plus tax. So, as I proudly waltzed around the store in them DH started to laugh and call me "Croc Hunter". :lovestruc Ah, yes, he does understand my love for shoes and comfy ones at that!

So, taking everyone's suggestion I will start wearing them for a few hours and build up. I had to do the same with my Addidas Addisage (the ones with the circulation knobs) and my knock-off Birkenstocks and like ya'll have said, after a few days no problem at all.

I am still patiently waiting for my Niles ordered via the website, but according to Mike whom I spoke with today, they may not arrive until mid or late June. :sad1: I did mention to him about this thread and he was curious, so I offerred to send him the link so he could read all the testimonials himself. I'll let ya know if I hear anything further on that. :listen:

Thanks again to my fellow Crocaholics! I'll let ya know what I think after I've worn them for a bit. :grouphug:

I am traveling to Calgary in June--maybe I could send you a pair from there and it would be regular shipping charges within Canada (right?)!! What do you think? We have the lime here now too--not sure what size though!

Oh you are too sweet thanks, but no thanks. Now I'm just getting greedy. Really I can live without them and no need to make you or another else go to any trouble. Perhaps it's a sign to not spend any money so I can return to Disney this year....a true possibility I'm working on if you can believe it.

Well, it wouldn't be any trouble at all--I am going regardless--Let me know if you change your mind!

Daisylove, I took a look at the HoleySoles shoes you mentioned. Here's what their website says about them - "Holey Soles products are now sold throughout North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe both under the Holey Soles brand and as private label products"

I have two pairs of Crocs, and mine were made in Canada! Where the Croc sticker fell off mine looks exactly the same as the HoleySoles shoe.

This link http://www.liteshoes.com/ will take you to their ebay store when you click any of the brand names. I want the turquoise ones!!!

These are the same shoe!! :Pinkbounc
I think just a different Manufaturer--Everything about them that I have read is exactly the same--Awesome--more distributers and choices out there. Hope this works for Canadians. Let us know! :cool1:

Oops did not see the info on private distributors. But at least now we can search for the shoes underthis name as well.

:cool1: I've worn my new CROCS two days, for 2 hours the first and 5 hours the second with no problems. I did notice that once in a while my shoe will make "pppfff" sound....DS calls it a Shoe F##t...he's going to be 13 tomorrow can't ya tell? :rotfl: It rained a bit yesterday, but not enough to test the CROCS on wet pavement...today however is a different story...it poured so I'll find out.

DH has changed his tune...he tried my Beach M (8-9) on his big ol' mens size 9 1/2 foot...it was a Cinderella's Step-sister moment!!! :rotfl2: But, he said, "Man! That IS comfortable!! And like nothing is there it's so light!" Ah ha!! Another convert!!! DH said he would prefer the Nile...a bit more manly he thinks so I'm still waiting on a call from my Dsis about the kiosk in her mall.

And yesterday I received an email back from Mike at CROCS, who said he got the link to this thread, read DChef's first post and forwarded it to some of the executives of the company. He has not read the entire thread though. So, who knows what will happen...maybe DChef will get a few words of gratitude for spreading the word about their product.

I was telling my oldest sis about them on the phone and now she is curious about the CROCS...she wants to try them on when she drops by this afternoon.

Well, thanks for all your help DIS family! I will let you know how the test run progresses!!

My Kindergartener's pink Payless CROCs were take yesterday out of the school locker room yesterday! She changed for swimming and left her shoes outside the little half locker. When class was over, her CROCs were gone! Her teacher and the principal looked and looked everywhere for them, including the previous classes' regular lockers. Bummer :(.

I just ordered my daughter a pair of the Payless ones in pink. I've been looking at them and trying them on for a while now (ever since this thread started :rotfl: ) and although I keep going back again and again, I just can't get over the way they look. These are really cute on petite little feet, but I wear a ladies size 9. :earseek: They are SOOO comfortable but they just look hideous on me!

My 8 year old daughter LOVES them though and her Payless ones should be here next week. :teeth:

Who knows, maybe I'll bite the bullet and get a pair.

Crocs are wonderful. I am up to 4 pair now and want to get a couple of pair of Niles.
I bought my first Crocs about weeks ago. I have osteoarthritis, sciatica, fibromyalgia and neuropathy. I was taking daily 4 Aleve, Relafen (4 850mg tabs) and tylenol arthritis (up to 12 a day) because of hip, back and knee pain. I am now taking 2 Aleve and 2 Tylenol arthritis and no Relafen. I am hooked!

I wear a ladies 9 as well and they are not as cute as on little feet. I wore mine for the first time, the other day. I braved it and wore them to work...I got a few looks but they are so comfortable. They really feel like not having anything on your feet as they are so light. Go on, get a pair....

I got my DD 6 a pair of the pink payless knockoffs. Ordered because our Payless' around here do not seem to carry them. Order them at least 1-11/2 sizes down. I ordered 1size down and I could have ordered her 2 sizes down and they would still bebig. She takes after the OP here and loves them large.

robinb that is so sad about your DD's shoes. They take things ike that soo hard at that age. I am sure she was upset.Mine would be crushed that someone could do that. pixie dust to your baby. :wizard:

maxaroni,elliemay192 I also wear a 9 and I am now up to 6 pairs. Who cares how clunky they look they are comfy! :Pinkbounc
