I just talked with a CRO (actully I think WDWT) and inquired about AP rates for Jan/Feb. She said nothing is out but check back........ Then she said she believes we will see another package offer before they release AP rates. And told be to check in about two weeks. I asked about room only codes for Jan/Feb and she said "we are only seeing alot of packages and they are not doing much with room only codes."

This is not what I wanted to hear but I guess I will keep checking.

I too am waiting to see those discounts!! I have room only ressies booked for the WL Feb 7 - 15. I keep checking back everyday for them. I wouldn't mind a package deal if it will be as good as the FTP was back this summer!!! I'll cross my fingers that we hear something very soon!!

THanks for the update!!!

:wave2:

Oh, no! Just what I DIDN'T want to hear! On this trip, we'll be spending a day at Cocoa Beach and another at SeaWorld, so packages won't work for us. Hmm, then I have to wonder if a room at WL is TRULY worth $207/nt.....(my AAA rate).

As great as the FTP was I really just want room only discounttrates because we will only be there for 5 nights and a package deal will just not work for us.

:( :( :(

From the sounds of things, CRO & WDTC is pretty busy these days relocating overbooked Polynesian guests. Past history has also shown that oftentimes the CMs don't know a whole lot more than we do. It may still be OK. We were there last February, and I did not book my AP discounted rooms until early November. So there may still be good news, and there is still time.

Deep breaths everyone, it still may all work out.

I just got a flyer in the mail from the Disney Visa that had a package deal for early 2004. For each adult package (resort and Pass), one child 3-9 can "play and stay" for free - so you are saving the price of the pass for the child. Since it is not extra for a kid to stay in a room with an adult, not sure what the "stay for free" is! And since DD is 10, doesn't really do anything for us!

Also praying for those room only codes!

I guess us AP holders will have to stage another uprising and bombard them with email again! Whatever happened to the supposed AP discounts program???? Well, I am NOT booking a room until either AP or FL residents discounts are out. For our upcoming trip I am paying rack for WL- 244.20 a night. I can't even say it without choking.

I became really disenchanted with the AP discount situation lately. I booked Oct 1 to 6, thinking Oct 1 was the last day of value season and we would get a good rate for the entire stay. Bought airline tickets for those dates. Waited and waited, no AP discounts 8/24 to 10/1 (except for that elusive 1 hour in early Aug). I was lucky enough to get a DC 20% discount at CBR, I really wanted BWI. I waited so long for the AP rates to come out, BWI and all the Epcot resorts including the Swan were booked for Oct 1 due a convention (rest of the nights were available). If they would have announced no AP rates earlier, I could have got it at regular price for that night. If the resorts were booked up in September, I would have understood. But all the reports coming back were that the resorts and parks were not crowded at all in September. But they do have AP rates available for Christmas, which is supposed to be the most crowded time of year! I can't figure it out.....:(

This was one of the reasons we joined DVC (Lack of AP rates). Next April we be one of the future trips to WDW where we stay in a resort rather than DVC home. I hope that the AP rates will be released then. If not I think DVC members get 25% off.

girlsx2.. I am planning on staying in the WL the first week of Feb...My daughters FL Resident pass expires on the 9th, so it will be before that!
I love DW in Feb...we go every year!

DVC members only get the 25% discount at DVC resorts, not others. And member discount availability is very limited.

I am a DVC member too and usually stay there but sometimes throw in a couple "extra" trips elsewhere, so that's how this came into play. My biggest gripe about the whole thing was the lack of communication. This calling day after day for rate availability was ridiculous. If they would have just said when rates would be available, I would have planned accordingly. I only planned this in July so it's not like I planned too far ahead. Oh well, lesson learned, never assume there will be AP rates and don't buy airline tickets before getting a room.

Rneighh, Thanks for posting your info, saved me a phone call. I am starting to "feel the pressure" for discounts for my late Feb. trip. I know it's a little early but I am anxious to whittle down my peak season rate at BWI. This will be our first trip out of value season. We have the 10% AAA discount but that's not much.

I would entertain a pkg. if the math worked out. A few years ago we did the old Sunshine Getaway (rooms and UPHs only, no meal plan) and it was a great savings for us as the room was so deeply discounted (about 36%!!).

The new VISA pkg. doesn't save us any more than our AAA discount as one of my children is now 11.

Keep posting info everyone, hopefully we will all get something that works for us!:sunny:

Just an FYI that Disney did not release AP rates for the first value season of 2003 until Oct 27th or 28th of 2002. So let's hang in until the end of October before we start sending mass emails to WDW about no AP discounts.

We were able to book AKL Concierge for Feb 1st through the 6th of 2003 with an AP rate of $277 a night inc tax and considering rack rate is $425 a night plus tax I thought it was a great rate.

Right now we have a savanna view room booked for $260 a night inc tax with a AAA rate for our upcoming Jan 23rd through the 29th, 2004 trip and are waiting it see what happens with AP rates.

I don't think anyone has said anything yet that would lead me to believe that AP rates won't be released, right? I haven't yet booked my rooms for the reason that they haven't been released. I'd like to get POR, but if the rates don't come out, I'd rather stay at AS than offsite. January/February are one of the slowest times of the year. The packages released aren't really that great and aren't enough to bring in the droves of people, correct? From what I've been reading, the CM's are saying to watch for them at the end of October. I bet the room only rates are a thing of the past though.

Keep your fingers crossed! I am!

Have you guys seen the photos of Pop Century? Mary from mousesavers just posted some great photos. It will definitely be a consideration for my Jan trip!

I agree....unfortunately. We are not AP holders and always used room only codes in the past. It seems that the non-AP room only codes have always been out long before our scheduled trip. Therefore, I am not holding my breath for room only codes for our trip in January........BUT, I am still hoping!

Thanks for that info DebbieB. The guide gave me the impression that is was available at all WDW resorts. Maybe I misheard or had switched off;) Well I am hoping they bring out AP rates for during our stay. If not then I guess we will have less spending money:mad: pirate:
