What creative things have you made before a Disney trip? I am having so much fun making things but I think I've made everything I've found on these boards. I'm looking for new ideas. Please share! :earsboy: So far I have...

Autograph Books
Travel Journal (for me)
Travel Journal / Activity Books (for kids)
Cast Member Thank You Cards
Mouse-keeping Envelopes
Laminated Priority Seating Cards (with dates, times, #s)
Mickey Address Labels for Post Cards

I don't have pictures with me but I will post them ASAP for anyone interested.

I had a good time messing around on my PC when I made my DIS ID:

This time I made

1) Autograph book
2) Mickey Head luggage tags
3) T-shirts for myself and DD for everyday we are there - 16 in all + 2 nightshirts for sleeping
4) Mousekeeping Thank you cards
5) Cast member appreciation cards

I made a scarf belt out of Mickey fabric for DD. She needed it for their spring concert at school and it will be great for her to wear at WDW. The kids decorated autograph books. DS10 used stickers on each page so if you flip through the book it spells out "Mickey Mouse is #1". He thought that up all on his own. Pretty clever if you ask me.

Would anyone be willing to share what the cast member thank you/appreciation cards look like? Thanks!

I've made Disney Shrinky Dinks and hung them up in our resort room window. :)

The crafting, scrapbooking area has some wonderful ideas from a bunch of great people that share all their crafting ideas, if prompted. I haven't posted over there but have lurked for quite some time. Its worth the time to check it out! :flower:

I made hair ribbons for my daughter and 2 nieces. Just took white ribbon and black slick paint and made Mickey Mouse heads all the way down the ribbon's length. They are really cute. I also did ribbons with light blue mouse heads to match the Grand Gatherings t-shirts that we will be receiving!

I always make a calander for my DD some she can put a sticker on each day that goes by and count down the days until our next trip. But this year I was thinking about an advent calander I made for x-mas. I cut a HUGE Mickey head out of felt and numbers. And now everyday she can put the number of days on the front of it until our next trip. It's so cute and it helps her learn her numbers and counting! I also have a little trick up my sleeve for when we are about a week away from going. I made it so it had a pocket in it so when we get close to going I will put some littel gifts from the Mouse himself and of course PeterPan (her favorite) to get her excited. Not that she's not already!

I made the mousekeeping envelopes and a travel book for DD and her friend. Mouse for less has a section of travel pages for each park. Also, found a website that has a feature that allows you to make a word search- I did one for each park. There are tons of websites with Disney coloring pages to download. I brought the books to a local store that bound them. We decorated the fronts of each with a tropical theme. Each park has a divider decorated with the theme ex. MGM has a box of popcorn and film strips. All of the decorations are scrapbooking things we found at Wal-Mart or Michaels. The girls are thrilled - its a great keepsake and fun to do!!

I've made paper chains, calenders, autograph books, photo albums, T-shirts, stroller saddle bags (mickey of course), mickey sun visors, halloween costumes (for MNSSHP), goodie bags. There is probably more, but that is what I can think of off the top of my head.

I can't remember the name of the website, but if you do a search for Mousekeeping envelopes here, it should come up with a thread on them which has the link. Basically, for these in the past, I've just taken clip art images of Disney characters and added Walt Disney font saying something like "Thank you for making our vacation special" or some words of gratitude.

For this trip, I did 3 shirts....2 separate designs for me and 1 that DH actually designed this trip for the whole family. I usually do the design for our family vacations, but this trip my brain was just plain out to lunch and could not come up with much. DH chose something related to Star Wars and Disney since we'll be there for Star Wars Weekend.

Last year for our DCL, I made a door sign for our stateroom door to help identify it easier and made smaller ones (in a different design) for all of the DISsers we connected with on the cruise meet thread. I also made a "Turkey Tag" for the cruise...had read about a similar idea on the boards. I used a clipart image of Mickey in a hammock and wrote "You've been Turkey tagged....who's next" or something like that. On the cruise I tagged the first person and then it was passed amongst the DISsers throughout the cruise...just like tag when we were kids.

I live for Disney Print Artist!! I make our mousekeeping envelopes, CM Appreciation cards, P.I.B.'s (Personal Itinerary Books - this year 4x6 index cards, divided sections, and pockets, then take to Kinko's and have them bind), and a couple of other surprises that I can't say because my Sis is a Dis-Boarder too!!!

Everybody wave to MattysAm!! :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

My DW has custom-made several unique outfits for our (original) Pal Mickey.

A Farmer outfit with Straw hat and coveralls

A Tourist outfit with an "M" on his sun-visor and a camera.

A Summer Fun outfit with a Finding Nemo "Hawaiian shirt" and colorful shorts.

Plus, of course, a rain poncho.
Pal Mickey hates to get wet (he says so all the time.)

Our Pal Mickey has made many trips to WDW and never fails to get the attention of CM's who ask about the outfits.

I understand that the "50th Anniversary" Pal Mickeys will have several new outfits available this Summer (anyone seen any, yet?)

Our trip isn't until October and it's been fun making all kinds of things to help pass the time!

Glad to help...just wish I could remember the sites, but at least you found it and now I'm going to bookmark it myself. Thanks!
