What country has the worst and best drivers?

I doubt they're the worst, but driving in Greece was quite the experience. People just stopped in the middle of the street and park there to run in somewhere, the cars behind them just move into the oncoming traffic to get around, drivers would just make new lanes if they think they have a few inches clearance, and in several places the two way roads were not wide enough for two cars. You had to not be too tentative trying to make a turn or get in a lane, because the drivers behind would just start pulling around you. I read Greece is one of the more dangerous countries in Europe for driving. I would do it again though, no hesitation.

Depends on who you ask. Here we say Belgium, one because it's Belgium, and two because also your parents, friends, family members are allowed to teach you how to drive. In the Netherlands you have to go via a driving school. Or we say Germany, one because it's Germany ;-) and two, because they don't have a maximum speed limit on the high way.

But 'independent' studies about Europe say Poland and Greece are pretty bad.

Thailand is the worst in my opinion. I have heard India is pretty terrible also. In Thailand a street sign or a traffic light are merely a suggestion, and no one follows any rules. If the road was designed for 3 lanes, the Thais can somehow fit 6-7 cars across that area.

Worst area in the US is the deep south in my opinion. People being too yielding to others and courteous can create lots of hazards on the road.

It doesn't surprise me about Japan. I did not drive while there, but the country in general is just efficient and courteous, so I can imagine that it translates to driving too. Also, I saw so many absolutely incredible cars in Tokyo! They're not gonna risk getting those babies in a wreck until they're legit playing Tokyo Drift in the middle of the night somewhere where I was not invited to go. 😁

My guess for best are Japan and Germany. The process to get a license involves a lot of classroom and practical instruction, plus there is good enough public transit that if you don't want to drive, you don't have to.

Worst I think is India. The crowds make everybody more aggressive, and everything moves so slowly.

What country has the worst and best drivers? :car:

Buzz's guesses:

Best- Canada 🇨🇦

Based upon our recent experience, most Canadian drivers are pretty good drivers. Except for those with Alberta license plates. Speed limits and turn signal use appear to be optional for them. (Sorry Alberta DISers!). Ontario drivers are a close second to the Alberta drivers.

Worst by far IMHO is India. Ever time I had to get in a car there I was scared to death and I learned to drive in Massachusetts🤣.

Second is China

Best that I’ve encountered is Scotland.

I wouldn't say the Italians are the worst drivers....they're just very aggressive drivers.

Worst Drivers: U.K.....you guy are on the wrong side of the road!

Best Drivers: The Germans.
