What could this be?

Can we please just pretend I never posted this and move on? It's all over now, and I won't post anything like this again.

Please...just stop.

I don't think that's possible on the DIS.

But, really, OP, I think most people are just concerned because you seem to think it's not a big deal. Are you really not going to at least call your doctor? That's what is concerning to people, for your own saftey and that of others around you when you're driving.

I understand being a little embarrassed about asking it, but just do the right thing and you'll feel better.

Look, I'm sorry I even asked. I just don't want this to drag on and won't ever post anything like this ever again. My mom got irritated at me for posting it and I don't want to cause any drama. Just stop posting on this thread and let it die.

I don't like causing drama and have never been one to start it. I'm fine now, drove to school this morning with no problems so can we just move on???

This is what is concerning people so much!!! You're not going to get it checked out, are you? Well, good luck to you and those around you and I truly hope it never happens again.

So is your mom taking you for medical care?

How old are you? your mom knows about this and is not insisting you get checked out????
maybe this story is another fake. I can't believe someone would not get checked out after experiencing something like this.

Yes, if I were your mother I'd be worried, too (although mainly because of what happened, not for mentioning it!)

Now that you've posted about this incident, there is evidence that you are aware that you have a problem, and have been warned that you should seek medical treatment. If this were to happen again and you were to get in an accident, this thread will always exist and I wonder if you could be charged with negligence for driving when knowingly impaired.

You don't want drama? hmm...

I have a few not nice things running through my head. If you want to endanger your own life that's your business but endangering the lives of others by still driving without getting this checked out... well, that's something else. That is irresponsible and, well I'll leave it at that. :sad2: I pray for you.

Fair enough, but I don't see the need for people to bring up her old threads, as someone did up there.

You don't think it's relevant that the OP has already had a DVT and now has had symptoms of a TIA??? She mentions in her OP that she is 'only 22', so it couldn't possibly be anything serious. However, she's obviously in denial since she had the same thought processes last year, and it turned into a serious situation. Her medical history is relevant if she's asking 'what could this possibly be'.

There is a reasonable chance (if she's not trolling), that this incident could be related to her medical issues last year. It is crazy (and negligent) to get behind a wheel until she figures out what's going on.

You post a comment like this on a message board, what did you seriously think was going to happen? that we'd just pat you on the back and say "there there". :confused3 Honestly.

Its VERY irresponsible. Youre endangering the lives of others, how do you drive comfortably without getting checked out? I dont get it.

The thread the other poster brought up was about the OP having a blood clot. The current thread is about the OP experiencing symptoms that could be symptoms of a stroke. Strokes are often caused by blood clots. I think the previous thread is very relevant, though that doesn't matter because the OP is obviously not going to take this situation seriously.

You don't want to cause drama, so when people are freaking out that you could kill other people if this happens again, you post about the fact that you're still driving around without having yourself checked out by a doctor. :confused3 But it's okay, because you didn't black out or kill anyone this time. Yep, that will cause this to die down. :stir:

Yup. Even if this thread is deliberately poofed, it will still exist online.

OP, you had a BLOOD CLOT and you didnt think that what you just experienced could be a mild seizure/somehow related to the blood clot? FOR REAL? Youre comfortable just shrugging it off?

Please take care of yourself! If not for you, than think about other people! If I was in an accident where someone knew they were not "right", I would be mad.

Hey Keypooh90, given how recently you were prescribed Coumadin, I assume you are still having to go in regularly for PT tests. Perhaps you should mention this situation the next time you go in for one, especially since strokes can also be caused by bleeds, which can occur if your Coumadin dosage is wrong.

Lovenox shots 2x day along with Coumadin. I'll be on both for the next 2-3 weeks, then for the rest of my life I'll be on the Coumadin daily. My Lupus has affected the blood/ blood vessels, so I'll be prone to clots for the rest of my life.

You need to mention this situation to your rheumatologist, who I assume you have to see at least every six months. You should probably also mention it to the doctor you're seeing for your kidney disease. Given the number of doctors you have to see, you might not even need to make a new appointment to discuss this since I imagine you already have several appointments set up. I know it can be quite a pain to have to check in with multiple doctors so frequently, and maybe that explains your reluctance to add yet another appointment, but as I'm sure you've learned over the last few months, it's very important to make sure all your doctors know about any symptoms you are experiencing. With Lupus, even otherwise insignificant symptoms can sometimes actually be very important - and this is not an insignificant symptom.

If the OP is only 22, then she is probably enjoying the attention this thread is bringing her, both negative and positive. IMHO, I think the OP needs to grow up and start taking responsibility. She does not want this thread to go away, she wants all of these strangers to continue posting about her. Probably makes we feel Important or something. Lol

No...i think the OP is actually freaked out that she may have a life threatening (and in this case life threatening to everyone around her) medical condition and is hoping if she ignores it and we stop pestering her about it it will go away.

It won't.

That's right. But no matter how much pestering we all do, she's not going to get checked out. So all this pestering is, frankly, pointless. We're all wasting our time.

That could be - but to me, that would seem more likely if she was an otherwise healthy poster. The OP is supposedly already dealing with multiple fairly serious issues. Given that at least one potential cause for her current situation could be fairly easy to fix (if her meds are causing it and just need to be adjusted) I find it odd that she'd rather ignore the problem than figure out what's causing it.

No offenese, but just because you drove this morning and was fine, doesn't mean that there isn't anything wrong. The incident you explained could have happened had you been driving, walking, doing homework, etc. It probably had nothing to do with you driving. To be on the safe side, you should at least mention it to a medical professional to make sure there isn't anything more serious going on.

A little over 10 years ago, my DH (boyfriend at the time) and I were in the car. He was driving. All of sudden he started to feel faint and thought he was going to pass out. I had to take the wheel from him and try to keep the car under control until he could get pulled over and stop. At the time, we chalked it up to his blood sugar dropping. We thought that this was an isolated incident and didnt' think anything else of it. On another occassion, he noticed how short of breath he got while playing ball with some friends. We laughed it off and said he was just out of shape. Again, we didn't think anything of it.

Several months later, he had a physical at this work. They had a habit of doing chest x-rays on the smokers that worked there and for some reason, even though he has never smoked, they put him n the x-ray group. That x-ray saved his life. They found a grapefruit sized anueryism on his aorta. Thankfully they were able to do surgery and he is fine now. He is extremely lucky that it was caught through the x-ray. He could have very easily died at any moment.

He did have warning signs that we missed and chalked up to isolated incidents and self diagnosed. Who would have ever guessed that an otherwise healthy 27 year old would have an aneurysim of that size?

What happened to you could have been an isolated incident due to your blood sugar being low or a sudden change in your blood pressure, but there could also be a much more serious underlying cause. Its worth checking out.

Haven't you ever been driving and get somewhere and don't remember the drive there, Why get her all excited and upset over it??

I know that there have been times when I have allowed myself to drive home with a migraine when I probably had no business driving. On a couple of occassions, I did get home and later on, I ask myself how I managed to get home becuase I don't recall the drive. I'm sure though that while I was driving, I was aware of what I was doing (usually, even with bad migraines, I try to be extra cautious while driving).

The situation described by the OP is much different. She is fully aware that while driving something happened to her. Not only does she feel like she "blacked out" but she confused the brake and accelerator. Not only did something physically happen to her, but she also confused equipment in her car that caused her to speed and could have created an accident. It was a dangerous situation.
