What Children TV show did you watch

I never thought New Zoo Revue was all that creepy. It just seemed skewed toward a younger audience than I was at the time it was shown in our area. I would probably go with Pufnstuf or Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. I don’t necessarily think the puppet like costumes make a show creepy, but some of the plots were kind of scary or mean. The Revue was more sweet and less mean.

I remember New Zoo Revue too, though it wasn’t a favorite. But I think you’re right about the animals. If you think about it, they’re not that much different than the costumed Disney characters at the parks.

since this thread has gone off track and includes shows that we just watched as kids........

anyone remember 'zoom' ('write zoom, z double o m, boston mass 0,2,1,3,4.......send it to zoom')?

which was the first iteration of degrassi street you saw if you watched it? i remember WAY BACK to 'the kids of degrassi street'.

any fans of 'wonderama' or 'kids are people too'?

and let us not forget the show that just by virtue of it's title would not be aired today..............

'the secrets of isis' (we finally got a saturday morning live action female superhero show in the 70's that featured guest appearances by captain marvel and other marvel icons-only to have the sad distinction of being titled with a name that no children's show would dare be titled today).

I always watched Sesame Street & Electric Company. Loved Schoolhouse Rock on weekends! Locally in Hawaii we had Checkers & Pogo & Kikaida on the Japanese station, KIKU. When my sister was growing up, we watched a lot of He-Man, She-Ra & Kids Incorporated.

Captain Kangaroo, Bozo the Clown, Romper Room, Major Mudd, MickeyMouse Club, Beany&Cecil (cartoon), Davey&Goliath (religious-based, early claymation type characters, pretty creepy), The Uncle Gus Show (out of NH). Major Mudd and Uncle Gus were more like the hosts for a variety of cartoons that made up the bulk of the show.

OH- Shari Lewis with LambChop and HushPuppy

Loved the original Zoom. LOL, I still remember the Ubbi-Dubbi language.

I remember Isis; didn’t watch it that much, although I can appreciate a show like that geared to girls. There was also Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, around the same time.

Wonderama was a staple in my house. Three hours every Sunday morning. Kids here in the NYC suburbs all wanted to be in the audience, but it was hard to get tickets, apparently unless you “knew someone”. One of my friends got to go and I was jealous. Had the pleasure of meeting Bob McAllister years later, in the 90’s. He was such a nice man, very genuine and gracious.

Remember this one.

That's a deep-cut - a live-action show based on a laser tag game (not to be confused with the cartoon based on the official Laser Tag TM brand). This was very cheesy! I do remember watching it though.

It had a super dark plot. There was a lazer tag cartoon too.
