What Child Id's have you used/prefer??

I'm looking to get some form of child identification for our trip in May. I've seen the ones that go on shoes, but what if they're wearing his sandals or crocs?? I've also seen tottoos, and those look pretty cool, but do they wash off easily??

If you have any that you've used/know of and love.. I'm all ears !!

I made some last time out of the mickey shape paint sample from Home depot. I pinned them to the backs of their shirts. They worked until the kids change their shirts and we forgot to change the i.d. tags too.
Since then, one of my neighbors has made them bead necklesses and spelled out in beads is " If Lost call my dad XXX-XXXX" They have locking clasps on them so the kids can't take them off.

The tottoos do NOT wash off easily at all as they are made of medical adhesive. You have to use nail polish remover. We didn't use the remover and it took 4 days for one to become illegible due to peeling. We were very pleased with them.

I made little cards that went in a badge holder. I bought the girls laynards when we got down there to wear.

I used cardstock and on the front put princess stickers (Jolees, each girl picked on princess) and on the back I wrote: My name is ________, Mom's cell phone _______, Dad's cell phone ________

They got comments on them from a variety of cast members, including the princess that were on the front.

We used the dog tag machine at Walmart, they had a POTC dog tag that we put both of our cell numbers on.

I got some really cool silicone bracelets made with Mommy's cell phone number from "Wristbands with a Message" web site. They are inexepnsive (about $5.00 each), come in a wide variety of colors and kids like to wear them. They will put any information you want on them (I think up to 30 characters).

I ordered silicone bracelets for our trip in December. Dd (6yo) will wear hers on her wrist and I'll put ds' (2yo) on his ankle.

We recently just bought DS8 and DD6 some sterling silver bracelets. Kind of like a name ID Bracelet from years ago. On the front of DS's is sporting stuff and the front of DD's is hearts. On the back we had engraved their first names and both of our cell phone #'s. My kids wear them just like a regular bracelet but know if they get separated from us (be it the mall, zoo, etc) they can find an adult who works there and they can call us.

We paid $20 each but will last us a long time.

We had dog tags made at a local army supply shop. They were $8 for two. We had their names and our cell phone numbers put on them. My older dd,5, knew exactly what to do if seperated. Not sure my younger dd,2, would have known to pull them out of her shirt and show someone but luckily we never had a problem. I plan on using them for the next trip.

We used tottoos and plan to from now on. They come with removal pads since they do not wash off with soap and water. We took the tottoo off DS's arm each night and replaced with a new one in the morning. The ink remained in tack and legible despite numerous sunscreen applications throughout the day. Actually, the only day the tottoo became to loosen on its own was the day I tried applying sunscreen before applying the tottoo.
As a side note - I had several people comment on DS tottoo each day. I loved the fact that the information was obvious and that nobody would need to get too close to my child to "check" for ID info (by the way, I didn't put ID info - just DH cell # and "Please call if I am lost" - don't want to give strangers any more info than neccessary).

I've used the "Who's Shoes" ID's but I do worry that if his shoes were to come off for some reason it would do no good. Plus they are kind of useless on shoes that velcro on.
