We are finally going back! May 22-29:banana:
I am trying to plan a character dining ...:confused3
we only do one dining reservation and I want to do a character breakfast.
Nothing to me gives you that disney experience as the dining experience.
Now we are lucky that our two year old (so far) is not afraid of characters.
We did the Crystal Palace years ago and I was sort of thinking about the Mickey Breakfast at the Contempory or Donald's safari at the Tusker house. As we have not been to either of these I wonder what would be the best choice. My two year old only really eats, grits, eggs, and sometimes bacon for breakfast and my (16 yr old) is somewhat of a picky eater also. I am open to other suggestions, also.

Hope I put this in the right place this is the first time I started a thread!!

OMG you have to do CM breakfast. SOOO good and your 2 year old will love it!

I have a review in my siggy. The buffet is huge. You will have great character interaction as well!

Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary has a good buffet, and is a ton of fun!:mickeyjum

We've only ever done Cape May Cafe, but it was fantastic, never once felt rushed, the food was very nice, service even better. We didn't even have a ressie, but still got in within 10 minutes.

After eating at Golden Corral or Ponderosa for breakfast this place was a real eye-opener :thumbsup2

We are big fans of family style meals. We have been to a bunch of character meals and our favorite b-fast place is Ohana's. Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch are there. They have a parade around the resturant that the kids can take part in.

I have never been to CM for breakfast but had dinner there and didn't like the feel of the place and you always have to worry about getting up for food and missing a character at the buffet's.

I vote for Chef Mickey's as well. We have been to character meals there at least 5 times and its always awesome. We are going back in May and I've booked it for breakfast already.

We do a character meal every day of our trip.....If we were only going to do one....I would ditto what pp's have said - Chef Mickeys!

We did both Chef Mickey's and Ohana's on our Sept trip. Loved them both, but if I had to choose, I would go to Ohana's over CM because it is family style. With little ones it was nice not to have to keep getting up and down to go to the buffet. Any time we asked for something more, they brought it.

We did Tusker House last year and really enjoyed it. I liked that they had some different options besides the standard fare. Their assortment of breads and pastries was quite good. We also liked the character interaction there.

We did OHana 2 years ago and were less impressed with it. I didn't feel there was enough variety since it comes family style (mostly eggs, hashbrowns, some fruit, sausage, waffles).

A huge plus to the Tusker House breakfast, in my opinion, is that if you get an early ADR (prior to park opening) then you don't have to fight through the entry bottleneck. Were planning a trip with my sister's family and I told her that was the only character meal I really wanted to do because of being able to get into the park early and be all the way up to the Safari.

Never thought about family style (never dined that way before).
How does this work? as compared to a buffet; do you order food per table or do they bring you a variety???

Tusker House character breakfast has been the best I have experienced, by far. Literally, it was the best breakfast food and character interaction I have experienced in all of my Disney trips.

Do you feel that the food there would satisfy two picky eaters??
Don't want to spend the money if I only have to feed them again when I leave... lol.
I do like the idea of entering the park early!!

We have done many character breakfasts, but our two favorites are Chef Mickey's and 'Ohana's. The character's are great at either breakfast.

I also vote for Tusker House -- my favorite breakfast by far (had enough "normal" foods that DD would eat, but offered a wide variety for DH and me) and all of the characters were great!

Thanks everyone
So far the advise is for Chef Mickey and Ohana...
still wondering how thefly style dining works to decide if this would work with our group???

I would think so. There were eggs, cereal, different breads to toast, oatmeal, bacon, sausage, muffins, cinnamon rolls, to-die-for bread pudding, and lots more.

Wow. No one has mentioned Cinderella's for breakfast. Is it not that great? Or was everyone thinking more of the non-princess characters? I have Cindy's booked for the last breakfast of our trip, but now I'm thinking of switching that to CM. I just wanted to eat in the castle, but if the food's not great then maybe it's not worth it.

P.S. I just noticed you have a 16 year old son. I think everyone else did, too. Of course he wouldn't like going there!
