Inspired by the "Changes at OKW" thread ...

I you had in a say in the matter, what positive changes would you like see implimented at BWV? This could be anything from housekeeping, events, food service, entertainment, transportation, etc.

As already expressed in another thread, anyone (BWV owner or other DVC member or even non-DVC member) is welcome to comment since they may at some time consider staying there.

This could include improvements like larger rooms, closer parking, onsite restaurant, a front desk not shared with another resort, transportation to the main entrance of Epcot or any other amenity that anyone could ever possibly be remotely interested in adding- whether they would ever stay there or not.

Enjoy!

I'm not sure Doc....I love BWV just the way it is....I'm always happy with my room and I love the CM's....

Well, maybe the trash and towels in the hallway....but I did speak to somebody in the executive offices ....so hopefully that won't be happening during somebody elses visit..

I have one significant problem with BWV and that is that in my experience it seems to need serious improvement in housekeeping and maintenance. Too many "small" things add up and really detract from the overall resort. A big change from our first visit (July of '99) to our last (October of '03) -- from a broken dryer door, broken lint filter, crayon marks, cigarette burns (in a NS room, btw), windows sloppily painted with lots of paint on the glass, excessive scuffs and dents in the wall, water (I assumed mop water) spilled on the carpets........it was not good. We don't go over the room with a white glove, by any stretch, but when there are so many obvious deficiencies you start wondering what else that is not so visible has been shortchanged. Don't get me wrong, it was better than the average hotel room, but seems signficantly shy of Disney's standards.

I think that someone needs to go through each and every room and make notes of what needs refurbished, and get that done.

Pool crashers need to be eliminated and more interior spaces need to be available for rainy days. A reopening of the loft would be nice. Additional elevators are needed. A better table arrangement in the 1 and 2 bedrooms would be nice with more seating for parties of 8. A bigger spa area with an indoor hot tub.

I'm still contemplating the clown slide face. A better kids play area is needed.

Elevators at the far ends of the building.

Dedicated self-parking area for hotel guests (possibly the valet spaces they said they are going to convert).

More fast food options.

Gee, all my answers were already posted! I totally agree with the elevators at the end of the building, seperate parking exclusively for resort only guests, more interior common spaces and a bigger dining table in a 1 br. All are excellent suggestions and things I would love to see improved at BWV! Another improvement I always wanted to see at BWV was a coffee table in the studio and guaranteed boardwalk views but Disney has already made those enhancements for us!

I like the idea of another set of elevators.

I would also love to see a member lounge area opened up in the attic.

I too would like to see additional elevators. While we love the restaurant choices on the BW, it would be great to have some type of interior food court for "quick" items like sandwiches or salads. And of course, our own busses!

Only one little improvement-coffee tables in the studios! When I first got there, and there wasn't one, I immediately called housekeeping thinking it had been stolen. Imagine my surprise to learn there wasn't one. Made balancing my morning coffee pretty difficult. Hey, if this is all I can complain about with BWV (yup, even the CMs at check-in were extremely nice), the place has gotta be pretty nice!

At the annual meeting, they mentioned that the coffee tables in studios would be added. Your wish may be granted! :D

Yup, BWV is getting coffee tables in the studios. I for one am thrilled.
Gee, on second thought maybe as a BWV member I should be upset at this because this was not the way the resort was "orginally" when I first bought my membership. And now with the cost of buying the coffee tables and maintaining/replacing the coffee tables until 2042 it might cause my dues to go up a few pennies!! LOL!!!!

I would like to see some dedicated two bedrooms with 2 queen size beds like at OKW. Also, icemakers in the kitchen refrigerators.

the pool bar needs to be open later than 10 o'clock. The bartenders tell me they want to push people out to the boardwalk to spend $$$. what I love doing is sitting out by the pool to about midnight with a couple of pina coladas or beers & just chill out/take a dip after a long day in the parks. the other resorts have the bars open later. Sounds petty, but i really look forward to relaxing like that.

For the love of kids please oh please do something about that playground! In the summer you could easily fry bacon (or your average 3 yr old) on its surface. Put a tarp or a tree nearby -- it's a scorcher! :scared1: :sunny:

And scrub the pool tiles more frequently, please -- Dumbo look more like a chummy scummy "Gumbo" when we were there last! Ewwwww... :crazy2:

(And on the pool matter -- if the clown were to be changed to, oh, let's say, a friendly non-Stephen Kingly seaside mural, I certainly wouldn't cry... and neither would a lot of clown-intolerant toddlers!)

And what I wouldn't give for a dedicated 2 br, especailly with 2 queen beds...

(BTW -- it may or may not come up or matter, but since it has been asked on other similar threads, we are BWV owners.)

3 things-I would LOVE a quick casual restaurant, something like Roaring Forks or the Contemporary's Food part of the food & fun place.

I would love for that clown slide to be GONE-I hate it, not because of the clown face, but because I hate that scaffolding that is the "roller coaster", it looks ugly to me.

The buses, for the love of Pete, have the buses make less than 5 stops, it's terrible.

My husband would like a better arcade-the ESPN one and the one by the pool don't thrill him-the ones at even the moderate resorts are much better.
BUt if I could just get some quick meal place I wouldn't care about the other three as much. LOL

Oh yes, Elevators at the opposte ends of the building and closer self parking, I can't believe I forgot.(Already posted abou the fast food)

If they'd make the bus system as first class as the rest of BWV, then it'd be as good as I could hope for.

And I'd like them to keep the clown face in the pool. Keeps the crowds down a bit! :p

We were there in Jan and we would:

1) Dedicated Busses!!!!
2) More Food choices. We would like a "general" restaurant like the YC Galley. One that serves salads, sandwichs, and standard entrees. We have tried the Big Grille and ESPN and haven't been impressed.

A little one....The coffee cart should open at 6:00. Don't know why there is a coffee cart out there that is open when we get BACK from the parks and don't want the caffeine, but we can't get a cup of coffee from it before we go to the parks.

Big ones, elevators at the end of the building. Interior access to something other than the Bellvue Room (although we love the Bellevue Room).
