What Chain Eateries Originated Around You?

Chick-fil-A began in the metro Atlanta area. Yum!

Also, it might not be the first Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, but it's gotta be the most unique. Marietta is home to the Big Chicken!

Mazzio's Pizza started here in Tulsa.

And not a restaurant, but the absolute best convenience store ever - QuikTrip - also started here in Tulsa.

Oh, and along with Popeye's, don't forget Copeland's & Cheesecake Bistro. Both of these are Al Copeland's (Popeye's founder) babies.

Good one! I forgot about Copeland's! :joker:

Hey we just ate there last month.....passing through on our way to WDW! What an operation that place is...it was huge, good and clean. Can't wait to get back there next year.

Church's Fried Chicken was started in the 50's here in San Antonio. It was across the street from the Alamo.

Pizza Inn started in the Dallas area. Another little old convenience store chain started in Dallas(Oak Cliff) 7-11.

I feel like I'm from another planet. I posted early in the thread and have followed it since and haven't heard of 3/4s of the places mentioned, so probably 3/4s of you never heard of mine!

Ohh yummy! I wish they would expand a bit and come to St. Louis! I guess St. Louis Bread Co (Panera Bread) originated here. That is all that comes to mind at the moment.
