What celebrities have you met?

I met Brian Denenhy, his wife Jennifer and children, Colin and Sara in a health food store. They live in the same town as me here in CT! They are the most down to earth people I have ever met.

I used to work on a service station on Englands main motorway. I served quite a few British celebs there (I served a few from Eastenders, Coronation street, Emerdale and served the whole cast of shooting stars). Most were really nice and would chat whilst we were making their food. I'm not sure you would have heard of them though. My favourite was Brian May from the rock band Queen who I was a huge fan of. I have also seen Kelly Osbourne and saw Robbie Williams (Britians biggest pop star who I am a huge fan of and have seen in concert twice) on my wedding day. He was playing in a concert near where I got married and stayed in the same hotel that we had our reception in.
The university that I went to used as a location for a TV company. A programme called A Touch of Frost was filmed there several times, so I met David Jason who plays the main character. He is quite well known in the UK. I was also on TV a few times with a concert band that I played in. We saw a few celebs who were filming in the studios whilst we were there, but they were English so most of you probably won't know who they are.
I almost forgot I met Queen Elizabeth, the Queen of England when I was about 6 years old and she was with her husband, Prince Philip.
I have also met and spoke to Princess Anne, the princess Royal.

Nearly the entire cast of "The West Wing" except for Rob Lowe (he had already left the show by the time I met them) and Janel Maloney (who walked past me while I was getting my picture taken with John Spencer). They are just the sweetest, most generous group of people anyone has the good fortune to meet.

Lots of figure skaters.

And I used to wait tables for special events at the Kennedy Center, so I've served quite a few other celebrities, the most exciting of which was Colin Powell who was head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the time.

John Travolta (Threw up in an elevator that I was on in the QEII as a kid) - I didn't know who he was at the time. We were in a hurricane and everyone was seasick.

REO Speedwagon (My dad used to drum for them so we met them backstage at a concert he took me to)

Anne Rice (I worked at Barnes & Noble when she did a book signing - VERY cool lady)

Patty Loveless (My dad was recording a CD in Nashville and she came in - Played pool with her)

Bob Dole (He and my grandfather were friends from the war)

Bob Hope (My grandparents owned an eyeglass shop in Palm Springs and he was a customer)

Groucho Marx (Same reason but I was only a baby at the time I met him so he really doesn't count ;) )

Peter Gabriel - His daughter volunteered at the same marine mammal facility in the keys. He did a concert in Miami and invited us up for that and a private after party. The party was at one of Madonna's clubs and there were people dancing in cages. I was only 17 and from Indiana so I remember having to keep my mouth from falling open most of the night. LOL

The Barenaked Ladies - How could I forget? ;)

Mickey Mouse - Met him several times and he is so down to earth - Great guy! His woman kissed my husband though - She is a bit of a tramp. ;)

Let me think famous people I have met....
I met the Nelson twins (remember their song After the Rain) they had long blonde hair...anyway their younger brother went to my high school a few years before me and they came to the graduation
That same day I met Mark Harmon (uncle to the above mentioned twins) I got the Nelsons' autographs and Mark Harmon's autograph.
Also that day I saw David Crosby (of Crosby Stills Nash and Young) His daughter was graduating that day too.
I've met members of the Goo Goo Dolls but not Johnny Rzenik the lead singer.
I also met the band Vertical Horizon up at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire 2 nights before my college graduation. It was a great present!
I've met some Broadway actors too.
I just want to say to all of you who have met Bruce Springsteen. I AM SO JEALOUS! I would love to meet him.

Trish just last night on another board we were talking about how wonderful Adam hugs are. :teeth:

I was so excited about Adam last night that I totally forgot that I've also met all of the guys from The Mavericks (band) several times.

Now I just wonder if Robert will still remember me the next time I get to see them. My husband swears that Robert kisses me every time we have met but I don't remember it. Guess I'm always too excited.

I met Jason Priestly. He was piloting a speedboat at a race in NJ.

Most of the famous people I have met are athletes. They would include.......
Gordie Howe (in a nutshell, I will always remember it because while I was getting his autograph at a Kings game in L.A. the World Series
was being interrupted by an earthquake)

Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays and Duke Snider (have all their auto's on one baseball)

Bobby Hull

Lots of current and former L.A. Kings players including my hero, Dave Taylor, Marcel Dionne, and Luc Robitaille to name a few (never met Gretzky though :(

A few of the Red Sox like Trot Nixon, Jason Varitek and Derek Lowe (who I convinced to talk to my DW on the phone)

I have also met a few people at Kings games who are famous for things other than hockey...

Jim Carrey

Robert Shapiro (one of OJ's attorneys, and it was during the trial)

Mary Hart of Entertainment Tonight

Pete Wilson, two days after he became Governor of CA

I've also met lots of NHL players at different times at charity golf tournaments. I played one year with a former New England Patriot, but darned if I can remember his name (he was only with the team for a short time, not a big time player).

Rich Eisen of ESPN and the NFL Network at a Red Sox game.

Joe Perry of Aerosmith came in to where I work one day (my boss knows the whole band) but I had no idea who the guy everyone was fussing about was (NOT a fan).

What a great thread!

Here's my list -

Political Celebrities: Barbara Bush, Olympia Snowe, Bill Cohen and
George Mitchell

TV Celebrities: Peter Falk

Sports Celebrities: Doug Flutie

Music Celebrities: Elton John (on telephone), Meatloaf, Fidelio "The Piano Guy"

Rae

John Schneider and Julia Roberts when they were both still young locals in school. John was good friends with my second cousin Jim. Jim even auditioned for the part of Luke Duke at the same time John auditioned for Bo. They worked together a lot before John got on Dukes of Hazard. The unauthorized biography of John has a pic of John, Jim and 2 others, when they sang in a barbershop quartet at Six Flags. Just watched one of Jim's old home movies yesterday at the 90 Bday of my great aunt. Jim died about 11 yrs ago, but his sister had all the movies put on VHS. The movie had one of Jim's performances at Six Flags on it. The picture quality was bad, so it was hard to make out John, but I'm certain he would have been in it, since they were in that show at the same time.

I'm pretty certain I met Julia Roberts at the arcade that was around the corner from my cousins house (different cousins). It was the local hangout for the teens that summer. I think we played Ms Pacman together several times. While my cousins weren't really close to her, they both knew her, and she dated a friend of my cousin Mike for a while.

Rae, you spoke to Elton John on the phone?? <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10_1_17.gif' border=0></a> I am so jealous!!! :p

I've had the pleasure of meeting a few celebs. The most recent being all 3 Taylors from Duran Duran. Very down to earth, still looking FAB!!!

I have met the entire cast of All My Children (back in 1992) when I was taken on a tour of the studios by James Kiberd...Huge day in my life! :)

I have also met Michelle Phillips...I waited on her at the Balsams when I worked up there back in 1992 as well...

I've been lucky enough to cross paths with many. Lucky enough to actually spoken to:

Oprah - we were both shopping in a small boutique type store and she girl talked with us. Very nice.

Sylvester Stallone. Turned around, waved and said goodbye as my aunt and I stood gawking at him!

Also Mary Higgins Clark. Her book signing was actually over but I came across the table and stopped to look at her book. A young woman asked if I'd like Ms Higgins Clark to sign one and I said yes, she went and got her and since it was just me and her we got to chat a bit. What a nice lady.

I know there's more but can't think of it now.

I met Scott Baio and Gil Bellows (formerly of Ally McBeal) when the MLB All Star Game was in Cleveland a few years ago. They sat in the row in front of me and both were nice and chatted with people around them.

I met a lot of MLB baseball players, my favorites being George Brett and Reggie Jackson.

Mickey Mouse
Donald Duck
Goofy
Minnie Mouse
Eeyore - several hugs and kisses
Winnie the Pooh - another good kisser
Brer Bear - big bear hugs and kisses
Piglet
Chip and Dale
Mad Hatter
A couple of the country bears
Peter Pan

There are a few more, but those are my favorites.

I had Phil Graham for a economics class at Texas A&M.
I was also an extra for the movie "Two Rode Together" with James Stewart and was on the set alot for the John Wayne "Alamo" where I played pool with Frankie Avalon.

For the baseball fans I've met Ron Guidry who played for the NY Yankees.
