What can you tell me about Trails End dinner buffet?

The staff has always been friendly.

The atmosphere is very low-key.

The food is basic, but usually pretty good. Fried chicken, ribs, sometimes spaghetti or some sort of pasta, mashed potatoes, etc.

My frequent travelmate likes it because they have sweet tea.

It's a good deal.

We love this place. Very laid back, great staff. The buffet is very good home cooking type of food. Just a great place to relax. Then after you are stuffed you can walk the many trails they have there.

I was just going to post the same question. Can't wait to see what everyone thinks. Don't really see this mentioned too often.

It's a MUST DO! The chicken there is very good! It is also reasonable, at least it used to be. I believe they have lunch there too!

Have fun!

One of our favorites, the food is not fancy but when we went twice on our last trip in November and it was fresh, well attended by the chefs, super reasonable price and wonderful service. Plus what a relaxing atmosphere inside and out of the restaurant. A must do for us. Enjoy!

This place tends to be a nice break from the themepark madness. The food is decent and it's fun to spend some time at Fort Wilderness.

So far I agree with everyone. We have eaten here several times over our last few trips. It is very relaxed and the food is good and there is plenty of it. My favorite part of eating here is the boat ride over from the contemporary hotel. If you go during the evening time, try and catch the hayride that they offer in the evening. We had a private viewing of the Magic Kingdom fireworks show and we were the only family on the ride.

One of our favorites! Food is always good. They go for quality over quantity here (as in, not as many selections as other buffets but what they do serve is excellent!)

Service seems to be either really good or really bad. Last trip, for example, we sat with empty glasses for 10 minutes until we finally got up and refilled our drinks ourselves using the FW refillable mug station (in the corner of the restaurant).

I will go against the grain and say that I thought it was average at best and the chicken was a little undercooked for my liking.

dh would LOVE this menu. How do you get to Fort Wilderness?

We are staying at POP.

What about from the parks? Is it easy to get too?

Fort Wilderness is a resort so take the bus from any park. From the Magic Kingdom you can also take the boat, which my DD adores. From Pop you need to go to a park (MK would be closest), then go to Fort Wilderness from there.

The playground is fun too!

The easiest route is by boat, which you can take from Magic Kingdom or Contemporary.

FW has buses, too, but the system is a little convoluted.

We make it a point to eat here every trip. They have the best fried chicken and macaroni and cheese! We love the laid back atmosphere of the restaurant. After dinner we stroll around Fort Wildreness and take a boat ride back to our hotel.

Can anyone go to Shades of Green to dine?

Yes. However, Disney Transportation will not take you there. I go to Poly, walk outside and follow a path to Shades of Green. It's about a 5 minute walk. Ask any CM, and they will point out the path.

I'm glad to hear these great reviews because we are eating here in Jan. because our folks are camping. My question is can you see fireworks from anywhere at FW?
