What can you tell me about Nintendo's DSi?

Do your kids own one? My kids want one for Christmas, and it's between that or a laptop, (both are on 2 of my kids list, at the top.) Laptop is out. My 13yo was telling me that he has a friend who has one, and the battery only lasts an hour, do you find this to be the case?

He says it's because it has so many applications and can do so much. Well, my question is, why wouldn't Nintendo give it a battery that could handle all of that?

I have no kids. But I got one. I love it . It is so much fun. Battery life last more than an hour.

Both my kids has DS's and I can assure you that the battery life is WAY longer than an hour. When we fly to FL, the kids use their ds's the entire time and that's about a 3 hour flight.

Perhaps your child who said it only has a 1 hour battery life, really wants the laptop....I know that's something my kids would do.

We have one. Battery life is similar to the regular DS, like other posters said. I like that it is more creative than the regular handheld video game. My DS9 will take pictures with it, then morph the pics into different looks, etc. Pretty cool.

We have the DSI, the battery lasts longer when you are playing games but I noticed if my dd uses the camera or the voice recorder alot the battery tends to wear out quicker...

My DD has one and plays with it more than she ever played with her regular DS. She loves the camera and the different things she can do with the pictures as well as the voice recordings that you can make sound odd.

Word of caution: If you have an older router it may not be compatible. There is a list on the nintendo site of non-compatible routers. I didn't find the list till after I bought her's. Now I need a new router.
