What can you tell me about Ebates?

With what I fear is the impending demise of MyPoints, what can you tell me about Ebates? I have done quite a bit of shopping through CreationsRewards but not every place I shop is listed there, especially travel sites. What has your experience been with Ebates, good or bad.

Thanks!

I have had a very good experience with eBates. To date I've earned $63.86. Most of that since last May. You get checks every 3 months, but they are automatically mailed to you as long as you have $5 in your account. Otherwise it just rolls over to the next quarter. You never have to request your reward. You get $5 per referral once the person you referred places an order. (It has to be from a site that gives a cashback discount and not a coupon only site like Amazon.com.)

I like that I can get $2 per LLBean order, and since I have the LLBean Visa I get free shipping, which means I can order each item separately and get $2 off each one.

HTH!

To be honest, I've never noticed how long it takes. I would say normally just a few days (I don't think it's overnight like the MyPoints Tupperware points). But I only had a problem once with points not showing up in my account within the 30 days that they said it should take as a maximum. They have a customer service form right on their website, you choose "Where is my discount?" and there's a place to fill out the order information and paste in a copy of the confirmation email. SOOOOO much nicer than MyPoints in that respect, IMO. I received an email back from them, which may have been a few days later, but it said my discount would be in my account withing 24 hours and it was.

I have to say that I have had nothing but positive experiences with eBates. I have had to notify them more than once about missing credits but they always respond quickly and I have never NOT been credited for purchases.

I'm not crazy about waiting to get paid on a quarterly basis but they are very good at sticking to their promised schedule. And like Eilonwy said, payment is auctomatically sent by check every quarter if you have over $5 in your account.

Usually, I find that I get a better bang for my buck at eBates. They have a lot of companies that I shop thru and if there's also a coupon or code for that site, it gets applied at checkout. They even rebate for purchasing gift cards (with a few exceptions, see their FAQs). Last Christmas, I ordered a lot of GCs to give as gifts or for my own shopping at B&M stores. I got a nice little check in February.

Another thumbs up for Ebates!!! I've used them for about 3 years. I never buy anything online without first checking to see if they have a link through Ebates. All my checks have arrived without a problem. Whenever a credit didn't show within 30 days (only a couple times), I emailed through the customer service link and they corrected the problem within a few days.

Also, be sure to check for coupon codes as well, so you can get a "double discount" on purchases.

Happy Ebating!

Wow! Sounds good! I am going to sign up. Does anybody know if any programs reward for joining ebates? Thanks!

I also give a thumbs up for ebates. I have used them for a few years now & have never had a problem. I usually check www.sdrawer.com to see who has the best rewards paid for the site I want to shop through. Almost always it is ebates. I don't know who rewards for signup- just that who ever refers you can get $5.

Wait! I think PCH Points actually rewards for signing up for eBates. But I can't find it right now. I know I've seen it there before, but since I already belonged, I couldn't do it. It may have been under Shopping....

Okay, I found it under Shopping--Clothing. May be other places. Both PCHPoints and Lucky Points say they offer 1,500 points for eBates.

Here's what it actually says:

"You will earn 1500 points when you make your first purchase through ebates!

You will receive your points within 45 days following a valid purchase."

Great! Looks like I sign up for one of those programs as well, as I don't belong to either of them. Thanks everyone!
