We are going there for 3 nights in mid-June. What can you all tell me about it? Is it nice? What can we expect?

We have stayed there twice both times in the mansion section. The grounds are beautiful. The Magnolia Terrace building is closest to the theme pool and food court(main building which also includes boatwrights and the arcade)On one side of the building you have the quiet pool(where the laundry is)on the other is a gazebo and a fountain. The mansions are 1-3 floors depending on where you are. They are beautiful with the white staircases coming down,it looks just like "gone with the wind"themeing. The acadia building has a butterfly garden out front with benches to enjoy it.,and a fountain in the back.It is right beside magnolia terrace with the quiet pool in between.
The food court has a bakery,a soup/sub/salad section,a burger/fried chicken section, and a pizza /pasta section. You can also get dry cereal, fruit cups, jello, cheese, beer ect out of a cooler.Boatwrights is the sit down restaurant. When you are there the boat to downtown disney will be running. It is caught at the marina(at the main building)there is a small building and that is the entrance to it.It is a nice relaxing way to get to DTD.It drops you off near the Rainforest Cafe.
I really enjoyed my morning walk to the food court there was always birds singing and bunnies hopping around. And every morning there were ducks in the main pool!I would recommend catching the bus at the main stop and finding the stop near your building so you can get off there on your return to the resort.I am sure you will enjoy your stay there.:p

We've stayed at POR many times in the Alligator Bayou section. We love it. It's our favorite moderate and one of our favorite of all WDW resorts. The AB section is beautiful. The landscaping is lovely and it's a little more wooded than the mansion section. There are quiet pools located throughout the resort in addition to the main pool area. Enjoy!

We stayed in Alligator Bayou last Aug and are going back again this Aug. We loved it. We had a quiet pool right outside our bldg. and there was my kids favorite pool just across the bridge with a cool water slide, Playground, and bar for the adults. You will love it.
