He can't sit on your lap, everyone has to have their own seat. But, for Small World and Peter Pan and things like that, it's really not a problem, just make sure he's in the middle, especially on Peter Pan. We took our dd for the first time when she was 1.5, and she rode almost everything! He'll have a great time.
My 2 year old rode most everything except the thrill rides. He loved It's a Smal World, Peter Pan and Pooh. The carousel is fun and Dumbo is a must if you get there early and there's no line.
Just a warning about movies and shows: Mickey's Philharmagic and the other 3-D movies can get very loud. My kids were miserable and terrified. I bought ear muffs for them for our upcoming trip so they won't be afraid of the loud noise.
The regular rides aren't loud and you will have no problem.
We just returned with our DD, who turned 2 during the trip. She loved just about everything in Fantasyland, and I think we rode Buzz 50 times. No joke!
She won't sit through long shows though. She didn't like Mickeys Philharmagic. She held her ears and we had to leave 1/2 way through. Though she did love Playhouse Disney and Voyage of the Mermaid at MGM.
I guess it all depends on their attention span. Hers is about 10 seconds, she is a very busy little girl. Now my DS at the same age, sat through almost every show at MGM and AK. Good Luck, they are so much fun at that age.
