Let me explain more, we (me and DH)have been to the world 14 times,so now we will be in orlando for the weekend and we are taking our DD(7mos.)just for the day.So now I get to experience Disney with her , we don't plan on doing much but we love to eat . I am just not sure what they let you take your child on when they have to be held. Any suggestions would be great.

Which park are you going to go yo?

At MK, try PeterPan, It's A Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Dumbo, or Pirates of the Caribbean. Although Pirates has that small drop, so I'd ask a CM first. You can hold your DD on your lap during these rides, since they are so gentle.

At Epcot, you can do Spaceship Earth, and El Rio Del Tiempo (the ride at Mexico). It depends on how she'd be with loud noises. If she's okay, try Imagination and Ellen's ride. Also the Living Seas would be nice.

At MGM, any of the small shows are nice. The Great Movie ride is nice too, but it, again, depends on how she takes loud noises.

At AK, there isn't much to do. Maybe the Lion King show, the walk through jungle tours, if she likes animals, and some of the other small shows, like the Pocohantas show.

I'd check with a CM before riding these rides, to make sure they'll allow young kids on. Since you've been to WDW a lot, so I guess you know a lot about the rides.

Have fun with your DD!! And have a magical time ::MickeyMo

If I were in your shoes I would go to the park you and dh like the most and take it from there. As long as you have a comfy stroller for dd and all her stuff she will be fine. She can ride anything without a height restriction with you. If she is sensitive to loud noises or flashing lights take that into consideration before riding. In shows pick a row to the back at the end of a row just in case baby gets fussy and you have to exit.

I loved to use a snugli or sling in the parks when my dd's were little. It helps with the lines as you can't use the stroller as well as wearing baby on some rides. IIRC a couple pavilions like the Land in Epcot don't allow strollers at all so you need to carry baby, wear baby or skip it.

In a few years it will be all about the MK and what DD want's to do so take your last turn now!!

Other than that just enjoy seeing WDW again with her.

I took my daughter last year when she was 7 months. I took her on Haunted Mansion, and Pirates. I think that was it because those are the only rides I got on. She did fine on those rides cause she did not know what was going on at all. My other two sons got on all the rest of the kids rides. I am not a ride person so we only got on those two rides.

Thanks for all the great tips. We will have a hopper so we may just do AK,MKand Epcot. We don't care if we do much at all ,we know we will be back! I just have to think ahead and every little tip helps.I have chronic mommy brain!!!!!!!!!!Just happy to get down there this year at all.
thanks again

We took our DS#2 for his first trip at the ripe old age of 5 months old and had a really great time (apart from a little hard to get him sleeping for a nap at times due to the busyness - had to duck into quiet spots)

AK:

Kilimanjaro Safaris
Conservation Station
Pangini Forest Exploration Trek
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Triceratop Spin
Boneyard (Dig area)
Flights of Wonder
Festival of the Lion King
Pocohontus Show thingie

MGM:

Disney Live on Stage
Little Mermaid
Muppetvision
Backlot Tour (might startle at that age)

Epcot:

El Rio de Tiempo
Maelstorm
Living with the Land
Spaceship Earth
Journey into imagination with Figment
Living Seas

MK:

Pirates of the Caribbean
Jungle Cruise
Flying Carpets (Alladin)
Buzz Lightyear (if 2 adults)
Winnie the Pooh
Peter Pan
It's a small world
Mickey and Minnie's House
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Steam Train
Riverboat

Probably missed some that we did

cheers

I agree with Jaysue. We have taken all of our kids at this age. Anything without a height requirement.

Don't forget the carousel, Dumbo, and Snow White.

Have fun! We are taking our 6 mo old in 1 week!

You know what I have always wondered. :stir: I'm surprised they allow a child to be held in Maelstorm as well as Pirates of Carribean. Although the dip isn't huge, I feel like it's enough of a drop that if the child wasn't being held tightly...well the child could fall out. Maybe only to the row in front, or even hit their heads. Know what I mean? If parents have never rode it before, you wouldn't suspect those dips.

We took our baby on everything except the big coasters (anything w/ height requirement like others said)

We used a hip carrier and it was wonderful standing in lines! The one from onestepahead.com

I have to speak out against the safari ride at AK. We hit some bumps that were so bad my son on my lap flew forward and almost hit his face on the seat back in front of us and I was holding him tightly. This ride is different each time and maybe you won't get a driver that likes to ride rough but sometimes you will. If you do decide to ride this hold your baby tightly (or in the carrier) and keep your hand on the seat back in front of you..that will help brace you.

The dangerous bumps come when the "chase" scene happens..looking for the poachers.

It's so easy to travel with a baby at this age. Have fun!!!

We traveled in September with a 3 week old and I was actually surprised at how little she couldn't ride. Most things, unless there is a height requirement, she rode with us on our lap. It worked out so well and most things put her to sleep if she wasn't already. :wizard:

Fair points especially for either first time riders or multiple time riders with their kids for the first time

We traveled with a 8 week old and didn't have a problem on the Safari. She rode in her "bucket" between 2 of the adults. If your little one is still using the "baby bucket" it's perfect for the rides. We used it on everything..except of course anything with a height restriction :)
