Curious what everyone is using for their pics in the park. I has seen some excellent pics and would like to know what type/kind of equipment is being used.

Currently,

Rebel XT
Canon 24-70 f/2.8L
Canon 70-200 f/2.8L
Canon 50mm f/1.8

use once in a while
Canon 430EX speedlight
Velabon Maxi tripod

The majority of my recent pictures have been done with just the 24-70 lens.

Software Adobe Lightroom and Adobe CS2

I'm a total follower around here and still learning, but was very pleased with the photos we brought back from our last trip thanks to all the advice from this board.

My camera: Rebel XT and Sigma 18-125

I use a nikon d200
Nikon 18-200 vr
Nikon 50mm 1.8

Just wish i could have taken the sigma 50 - 500 but it was too big for taking round the parks.

My last park set up was:

Nikon D70
18-70mm Nikkor "kit" lens
10.5mm Nikkor fisheye

Next trip will have:

Nikon D50, 18-135mm, 70-300mm VR, 50mm f/1.8 and 90mm f/2.8 Macro. Will also have the SB-600 Flash with me for when we have character meals scheduled.

Canon 30D

Canon 28 - 135 IS
Canon 50mm
Sigma 28 - 70 mm

First trip behind the camera coming up in 5 days!

Olympus E-510
2 kit lenses - Zuiko 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6, Zuiko 40-150mm f/4-5.6
Sigma 30mm f/1.4

Also carrying our compact Fuji Finepix F30 along with 2 sizes of Gorillapod, our XShot for self-portraits, and a tripod that is older than I am to put in the locker for fireworks.

Oh, and all in a Lowepro Slingshot 200.

Body: Canon 1D Mark 2

Lenses: Canon 24-70 f/2.8, Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS, Canon 17-40 f4, Canon 50 f/1.8

Flash: Canon 580EX

Filters: Hoya Circular Polarizer

Rather than using a UV filter, I just smear a little SPF 30 sunscreen on the lenses. Much cheaper.

Kodak DC4800 3MP p&s.
Canon 30D just to check exposure for the Kodak.

There's a bunch of us here using Pentax DSLRs but generally we're a fairly quiet bunch - not much response in "what do you use" and no "show me" threads. (OK, we do speak up when people are looking for buying suggestions!) So I'll toss in here. Pentax *ist DL and K100D, Pentax 18-55mm, Pentax 50-200mm, Pentax 50mm F1.4, Pentax 10-17mm fisheye, Tamron 28-75mm F2.8, Vivitar 55mm 1:1 macro, Sigma 28mm F2.8, Zenitar 16mm fisheye, Slik Pro 713 CF2 tripod, Clamperpod, two circular polarizers (67mm/52mm), cross filter, homemade Tic-Tac shutter release, etc, etc, etc. Nearly everything is going with us when we leave for California early in the morning tomorrow. :teeth:

Another Pentaxian for the record.

Pentax K100D
Pentax SMC-DA 18-55mm
Pentax SMC-A 50mm F/2
Tamron 80-210mm
Filters - CP and Star
cheap tripod

and... as of next week a SMC-FA 50mm F/1.4
I just ordered today! I will probably be selling the 50mm F/2.

Nikon D50 and lenses (see below) this year, and for the foreseeable future. Fuji S5200 in 2006. Links to galleries are in my sig if interested.

Last trip:

Canon 1Ds MkII, 24-70mm f/2.8 L, 70-200mm f/2.8IS L, 50mm f/1.4, 28-300mm L (rented to test it), Canon SD700IS with underwater case for Typhoon Lagoon

And, of course circular polarizer filters, tripod (used only from balcony at CR), lots of memory cards, laptop plus portable hard drive for backup

Upcoming quick trip with DD:

Canon 1Ds MkII with just the 50mm f/1.4 lens, maybe my 20mm; the Canon SD700IS, and my DD's Olympus p&s

My past few trips....
Canon 20D
Canon 17-40mm f4
Canon 70-200mm f4
Canon 300mm f4 IS
Canon 100mm f2.8
Canon 50mm f1.8

My next trip I will be down sizing a bit, seeing as that I have sold off most of my L glass.

Canon S3 IS - love it!

I have been considering this camera for my b-day WDW trip. My current digi cam is woefully outdated.

How does it handle night shots and high speed stuff? Have you taken any pics of the fireworks or Fantasmic with it?

TIA!!
