The one good thing about this poll is that it gives us a really good view of how
inaccurate certain types of polls are on discussion forums. This one surely shows that polls are heavily biased towards choices that people are passionate about, and biased against choices that people who don't care as much would make.
It's a very common phenomenon actually -- go to any high-tech a/v forum and it is easy to get the impression that everyone loves HD and cannot live without it, that listening to television without Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound is sacrilege, that no one could possibly want to watch television any way other than "OAR", etc. While these are the choices made by the most passionate within the context, they tend to be less-so the case when looking at the full population.
And note that, in both venues, the most passionate answer isn't necessarily the right answer -- it is only the right answer if you, yourself, are passionate about the context.
I'm a Firefox user, and happy enough to be part of a relatively small minority, rather than a member of the majority, as this poll would tend to lead someone to believe.
