What brand memory card do you recommend?

Hi! I want to buy extra memory SD cards to take to WDW but I'm not sure what brand. I'm currently using a Sandisk 1GB SD card in a Kodak P712 Easyshare digital camera. I was thinking of getting two 2GB cards but should I get Kodak? and I see Sandisk has an Ultra SD card? How is the Ultra? I don't want to spend a fortune but I don't mind paying extra if the quality is better and the speed is better. Any advice? Thanks!

Speeds go from 40x - 150x I have the 60x Ridata Lighting and havent had any issues with it overall it has done real well!

The only card I would absolutely not recommend is the A-Data brand cause I had one fail without warning and trying to recover from it was spotty at best.

OCZ makes alot of flash memory products and that will probably be the next one I get I want to see if I notice a difference with the 150x over the 60x, till then like I said Im happy with my Ridata.

Sandisk are fine, but by no means the only good ones, and you do pay a premium for their name.

I use Sandisk (regular and ultra), Kingston (regular & elite), Viking and MicroCenter. The only one I ever had an issue with was a Sandisk. I have a total of 14GB in cards. 5 2GB and 4 1GB.

Sandisk or Kingston are both good. A Kodak brand could be anything they found that was cheap and they just rebranded it. Stick with named memory. The Ultra II or Ultra III or Extreme will only provide you with the ability to download your images faster your camera wont take faster pictures.

really? I thought the higher qualilty made it so your camera takes photos in a more rapid succession. Good to know! Then I won't bother with the Ultra b/c I have no problem with how long it takes to download the images to the computer!

Fast cards like Ultra II or Extreme III can let us take photos faster *but* only if our cameras can take advantage of the speed. Rob Galbraith has a database of some cameras and cards with the write speeds.

I prefer SanDisk cards but also use other brands and failures do not appear to be exclusive to any particular brand. Some are probably better than others but it is difficult to find data on that.

High quality and speed are not related. You can get a "generic brand" memory card with 133X speed (20mb/sec), or a brand name "Sandisk" card with slow speed (1mb/sec).

Each brand carries different speed cards to suit everyone's budget and needs.

I like SanDisk but have used a few other brands with no problems.
