What book are you currently reading?

I am reading Star Trek: Articles of the Federation by Keith R.A. DeCandido and No Need for Speed by John "The Penguin" Bingham. Yep, I am getting ready for the half marathon in WDW in January.

Just finished 2 books by Jodi Picoult My Sister's Keeper and Keeping Faith now I am reading The Pact

Carrie
Sounds like my DD. She is going through the Jodi Picoult books.

I am reading Jane Eyre. I figure if DS has to read it for his summer homework, I will too.

I just finished reading Quentins by Maeve Binchy.

I have a Nora Roberts downstairs, but I forget the name right now. :)

So far I've finished three fiction:

"Wrong Child"

"Moral Choices"

"Second Silence"

-------------------------------

For non-fiction I read:

"102 Minutes - The Untold Story of the Fight To Survive Inside The Twin Towers" - an amazing book about 9/11.. So much information I was not aware of before. I read it in a matter of a few hours - just couldn't put it down..
----------------

Right now I'm reading another non-fiction:

"A Random Act" - the true story of Dr. Phil's sister-in-law as she struggles to recover from a random act of violence where someone on an overpass threw a gallon jug of sulfuric acid through the windshield of her car, severely burning and disfiguring her face and many other areas of her body.. It's about her fight to survive and her choice to forgive.. Great book!

I just finished re-reading Harry Potter 5, getting ready for 6 in a few weeks. I was amazed at how much I had forgotten since I read it 2 years ago.

I also just finished the second Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants book. \

And yes, I am an adult...but I enjoy reading kids' books (and I'm pre-reading the SotTP books before DD12 does so that we can discuss them.)

What next? I'm reading a lot this summer while recovering from surgery.

Edit: Posted before I read the thread; looks like I'm not the only one needing to refresh my HP memory!

DS wants me to read Lord of the Rings, but I just saw the movies for the first time, and I honestly can't say I'm that excited about reading the books. Shame on me!

Because of a thread like this I decided to read a series in order written. :teeth: I am reading Four Blind Mice by james Patterson(the Alex Cross series) only 2 after this one and I will have caught up with the author.

haha! Same here. I bought a whole bunch when audible.com had a 50% off sale and they are now sitting in my iPod waiting for me. I think I may try and get to the first one this week. I think I read Kiss the Girls many years ago though.

Actually, I think half the stuff I have gotten from audible.com, or is in my next listen queue were mentioned in threads like this.

I just recently finished the 5th Harry Potter book, "The Christmas Train" by David Baldacci and I am now currently reading another David Baldacci novel, "The Winner."

C.Ann, who is the author of 102 Minutes? I remember someone mentioning this book on here before, but couldn't remember the name. I looked for it at Borders and Barnes & Noble yesterday, but couldn't find it.

Just finished The Joy Luck Club - seen the movie dozens of times, finally reading the book!
Next up - One Hundred Years of Solitude.

Girls in Pants:The Third Summer of the Sisterhood (the 3rd book in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series).

The authors are: Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn

This book is a MUST read if you are interested in the events of that day.. There is SO much information in there that wasn't made common knowledge amongst other sources..

I just finished "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. I'm the occasional softie for love stories and this is a good one. Now I'm starting "California Girl" by T. Jefferson Parker. I also enjoy the mysteries. :)

I'm currently watching the "Notebook." It is quite a movie. Is the book better?

I'm reading Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gergory Maguire.

A change of pace for me but so far I really like it. It goes to the pool with me every day. :flower:

just finished a message in a bottle by nicholas spark..

even though I have seen the movie and I knew how it ended I was still crying like a baby..

Most of his books have that effect on me!
