If your parents work at Disney, you live out of state...what benefits do YOU get because of this? What do CMs get to give their relatives, friends? Free passes, discounts, etc?

You could probably have a cm discount applied to your hotel room which 40% off, other than that I am not sure.

I met an older couple in Biergarten in 2003 they have been working for WDW for the last 20 years and the husband had just recently retured while the wife still worked at a childcare center in MGM. They said they get free admission, and they can get the whole family in when ever they come down. They were having lunch at Biergarten on their day off.

My friend is a CM he gets a lot of free passes, and discounts on almost anything you can buy in WDW. There are definetly a lot of perks.

I wonder if that has anything to do with how long they worked there, or if all CMs get that?

Are these perks just for the immediate family of full-time CMS? Anyone know about seasonal CMs?

There has to be some limitations on the perks. I know a man whose brother is the CEO or something, majorly up there, runs the Tokyo one or something. He can give a few ONE day passes out to family, etc, but that is it. Nothing like letting family in unlimitedly (is that a word? :flower: ), etc. I hope a CM reads this and has more info, very curious now.

My sister is a CM. She can take up to 4 people into a theme park for free, however she has to be with them. They cannot enter the park on her pass unless she is there with her Disney picture id.

Depending on what level CM they are there are only a certain number of times a year that they can allow friends and family in on their pass.

I have 2 friends(husband and wife) that are cm's...1 at WDTC 1 at DCL. They get a set amount of "tickets" they can give to whoever they want. When they go to the theme parks they can get themselves plus 4 others(for each of them) in at a time.....no tickets needed. They can get 40-50% off the rooms...they are allowed so many rooms per year...and it is quite a few! Also, they get coupon books for dining at restaurants....50% off 5 dinners for each coupon. They get 20% off any purchase on WDW property.

No bad, huh? :teeth:

For many folks it is the perks that keep them working for Disney. In many cases their salaries aren't that great.

So all CMs get to take four people in with them each time they go? That is nice! And they could do this each and every day if they wanted to? Plus they get other tickets they can just hand out, for times when they don't go??

No. They can take up to 4 people with them so many times a year. I guess it depends on what level of CM you are as to what your benefits are. My sister cannot just hand out tickets. I could not get in on her pass unless she was with me.

Mine is pretty goofy already and he doesn't get any perks for it! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

A CM relative told me that she can only let in people on her Main Gate pass 12 times during the year. Each time she is allowed to admit 4 people--BUT she must be one of the four people--so it's really only three people. She also gets park-hopper type free tickets occasionally which she can give to family/friends--but she really doesn't get too many of these. The CM discount is 20% until you've been full-time for three years--then it's 35%. I don't know if the number of free admits increases when you've worked more years--also don't know about part-time and seasonal CM's. She can get a good CM discount on rooms--and also on tickets (although it's not a huge tkt discount by any means). The coupon book mentioned is a once-a-year thing--Disney's holiday gift to the CM's. CM's can get a food discount in some restaurants for some meals--but it's not as good as the DDE discount.

I am a CM out of California. I have a silver pass that allows me to bring in 3 other people. I get 35% off merchandise, 20% off sit down dining and up to 50% off rooms

I think it must be different for what your title is and where you work. We went down with friends a few years ago and their neighbor's brother worked at one of the resorts. They had never met the guy before, but yet he got their family of 5 in for free every day of our vacation. They were one day park hoppers. The only draw back was that they had to meet him at the resort each morning and he would escort them into Epcot, then they were free to visit whichever park they chose - but not a bad perk for not even meeting the fellow before that day. I still hope that they wrote him a thank you card!

Sure, they often are given passes for incentives, singing in CP, etc. They are welcome to give those to anyone. They can also trade in points earned for special things that they can give to others.

Some CM's can get more than 3 in with them due to their family size. Meaning, if they have 3 children and a spouse, Disney will let them get 4 in plus themselves so they can bring in their whole family. Some CM's don't have limitations on how many times a year they can bring people in, depending upon their "rank" - my mom can just get them in 12 times a year. She can also get up to 50% rack for herself, or up to 40% off for family/friends on hotels. Plus discount on merchandise and food.

Course the pay really stinks ROFL!
