I'm thinking of taking my D5000 to Disney, but not sure what kind of bag to use? I'm already worried about taking it, with the trouble of carrying it around, etc. Any thoughts? I would love the leather cases, but those are BIG $$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (the ones that fit over the camera like a glove, not where you have to pull them in and out of the bag every time you want to use it.

Thanks for any suggestions!!

We all have our way of carrying our cameras at WDW, so what are your concerns? You mention taking it out of a bag everytime you want to use it. Most of us take it out and carry it all day. I very rarely put it back in my backpack. If having it out concerns you, Op/Tech USA makes a line of neoprene coverings (digital-d soft pouch) for around $20. The only problem that I had carrying a camera all day was with the strap. After a time, the OEM strap was very uncomfortable. I have subsequently switched to a Black Rapid Strap. It is a very good strap ($$), but does have some drawbacks when attempting to use a tripod. I had to create a workaround for that issue. As far as a bag, I have several (actually many on a shelf in my closet). The two that I have been using recently are the LowePro Fastpak 200 and Slingshot 200. Finding a bag is very individual. I would recommend bringing your equipment to a brick and mortar store (preferably not a big box which usually has limited choices) and trying each out.

The bag I used (and still use) for my D5000 is a Tamrac 5693 (at least I'm pretty sure that's the model, I actually can't find any model number on the bag itself). It's not too big, but it can easily fit the camera with a lens attached, as well as a second lens. It also has pouches for memory cards and some other small accessories.
Here is a link (I think this it it) on Amazon:

It looks like it only fits the camera, but on mine there is a divided space in the main pocket for a second lens.

I actually picked mine up at Best Buy for 19.99 last year.

There really are a ton of different bags out there, and it is one of those things that you really almost need to get it into your hands and try it before making a decision. But from personal experience I can recommend the one I have (Assuming this one in the picture is the one I have - again, be sure to get it in your hands before making a decision).

Edited - Actually after looking more closely at it, I don't think is the bag that I have, but mine looks a lot like this, but it does have more space so that you can fit a second lens. I apologize, but again, I can't find an actual model number on my bag to give the actual model. But it does look very similiar. If you go to Best Buy or a camera store it will look a lot like this, just a bit bigger.

After a bit more research I found a bag that looks more like the one I have (I think that the one I have is no longer being made, at least I can't seem to find it). This bag is very similiar, and you can see where the extre lens would go:

My camera stays around my neck with a Lenscoat bodybag on it to keep it form getting bashed around. I don't carry a regular bag to the parks, I just stash a lens or two in the waist pack that we use to carry the water and supplies.

Comfy bags that I've found in general are the Crumpler million dollar homes (whichever size you need) and the Tamrac adventure messenger series. But a lot depends on how your comfortable carrying the weight.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I am definately going to go out and get a cozy neck strap and take a peek at the bags, take my camera with me and give them a test drive!

The SlingShot 200 AW has a mid-range SLR with zoom lens attached 3-4 extra cables and accessories. This feature-rich bag also includes a built-in bag memory card, micro fiber cloth for liquid crystal and two generous storage pockets.

I plan on carrying my camera and then putting it in this holster bag while on rides.
