What attractions can I videotape in?

Anyone know of a website that might tell me which attractions it's ok to videotape in (without a light, of course). I'd be mortified to have a cast member or someone else chastize me for taping where I'm not allowed!

They do announce before shows whether or not videotaping is allowed. The biggest "no-no" is taping with a light. The light is distracting to other guests. In some of the shows, it can be dangerous for the performers.
Once in Dinosaur, the people behind us videotaped the whole ride with a bright light on. We got to see all the things you are not supposed to see - like the mechanical "innerds" of the dinos that are usually hidden by the darkness. The ride is not much fun when you see the neat Dino heads coming at you with the bare mechanical skeletons moving them.

That site leaves off some of the ones I would consider obvious, but that people do video on, such as BTMRR, Space, Splash, ToT, RnR (well, maybe not RnR), Test Track, Mission:Space (don't think anybody would be that brave either). Like I've said before, I got hit by a flying camera on ToT, so I want to make sure these that seem so obvious get some attention too.

If there is any ride that you SHOULD be able to tape in, it's COP! The threat that this ride could close forever at any time has been hanging over us for years! At least let us preserve the memories while we can!

Or am I wrong?

We are thrilled to see that it should be open in January! Should I break the rules and try to tape it?

I have found that the announcement "video taping is not permitted", is not always given on the same attraction. Sometimes they say it and sometimes they don't.

My solution, always carry the video and when they don't actually say "no video taping" I tape (without a light of course)
:hyper: :hyper:

The result - I have almost every attraction at WDW on video from 1987 on. This is great, especially for some of my favorites that they have done away with.
:teeth: :teeth:

Even the 190/360 films that they say won't come out good if you tape, they come out amazingly well.

:cool1: :cool1:

LOL. St Louis fan! Thats how I feel. The last time we were able to see COP was in 9/01. I heard the announcement not to tape so of course I didnt. Upon returning home, I answered a similar thread to this one, stating that COP was one you couldnt tape. Other posters disagreed with that and said they had even been encouraged to tape it. And now with it "closing" I was more determined than ever to tape it when we go in Dec. However, now seeing that it really is against the rules to tape it, I guess Im back to square one. :(
