DH and I have always gone to WDW alone (no kids). Last year, we went with my brother, nephew, SIL and her Mom. My little nephew wanted to do the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area at the Studios and we could not believe how much fun it was!

What attractions have turned out to be a pleasant surprise for you?

Hi there, we just got back from our trip and when I saw this thread, I just had to reply. At MK Carousel of Progress was a fun little ride. My DD7 and I went on it twice ( she suggested it the 2nd time) It's a nice little ride that is almost forgotten, it has a/c, and it's holds your attention unlike the hall of presidents. 2 Thumbs up in our book! BTW lots of hidden mickeyes in the last scene...I could only find 2 though...lol!

Delta Dream Flight which is now gone, many had told me it was a real loser.DW and I really enjoyed and made sure to visit it on each trip to MK until it was replaced by Buzz which we also enjoy.::yes:: :wave2:

Hi there yourself captjack. After taking the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, I have a new appreciation for Hidden Mickeys. I will have to do Carousel again in November.

Im not a huge fan of 3d shows- I much prefer rides. I LIKE the shows, but I just like rides better. Anyway, I was very pleasantly surprised at Mickey's Philharmagic. I really expected to have a blah reaction - but now its one of my (many) favorite attractions!

Next time we go I want to take the keys to the kingdom tour. It sounds very neat and informative! I love looking for hidden mickey's too! I even got my kids looking for them...lol!

Keys was awesome and worth every penny. However, it is age restricted...they don't want to ruin the magic for the young ones. I think you have to be 16.

We skipped FOTLK during two visits. Figured it was too young for us. Last April we were with my SIL and BIL and they wanted to see it, so we went. Absolutely loved it and won't miss it again!

I was amazed at how much I loved Test Track. The last several years when we went I just sat back w/ DD while DH went on Test Track by himself. Finally, the in 02', the last time we went, I decided to give Test Track a try. I was curious on what all the hype was about. After the ride was over I was so bummed out, because it was so much fun!!!!!!!:hyper:

This year DD will be tall enough to go on this ride and I so excited to take her:Pinkbounc . It will be a long time before we can go as an entire family because DD#2 will be 13 months old when we go in Sept., but I look forward to the day we can all go together::yes:: .

Yep, I am a Test Track fan now!!!!:teeth:

After watching the promo video, I was TERRIFIED of Tower of Terror and vowed to NEVER go on it. So for 2 trips, we skipped it. In January 04, curiousity got the better of me and I went on it. I am ADDICTED to it!!!!! We went on it SO MANY TIMES!!! So glad I decided to try it!!!

Same for me with TOT. Skipped it the first few years and although it still terrifies me I love the ambience.

FIGMENT. Don't know why we had never done it till this year. I found it delightful. Not so much for DS11 & DH, but it is now one of my favorites.

Jordan's mom

Mine's a show - but I LOVED The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I haven't even seen the movie - but they did it so beautifully - it was like seeing a Broadway show. I will REALLY miss it. I wish they'd kept it and gotten rid of Beauty & the Beast - after all they've been doing B&B for at least 11 or 12 years!

Mine would have to be Buzz Lightyear. I went last year with my 3 teens and we were going to skip this ride thinking it seemed too little kiddish, but the line was short so we decided to give it a try. Of course my teens all stomped me as far as scoring goes, but I had a blast and was disappointed when the ride was over. Can't wait to go again this year, I've been reading different tips on how to get a high score so maybe Mom will win this year :Pinkbounc

We skipped FOTLK every trip too, until our last one. We kept going w/ the notion, we didn't have time for another show. Anyhow, we found it to be incredible!!

I was suprised with Carousel of Progress. It was always brushed off until we "settled on doing it" once. Now its a fave that we seem to miss every time now that it is on a seasonal schedule.

The Safari at AK. Who knew that just sitting in a jeep watching animals could be so much fun

Tower of Terror !!! I was scared of riding, but DD10 had her heart set on it - DH didn't care if he did it or not and DS6 absolutely refused. I knew if DH didn't ride it we would never hear the end of it so......... it turned out to be my favorite ride. I can't wait to do it again. I was really surprized at how smooth it actually is. I would highly recommend it.
