Always looking for new ideas of traditions to start with the kids (or just DH & I).... What traditions do you have when you go on vacation - especially when you visit WDW...

For example:
- 1st park HAS to be Magic Kingdom - we're not at Disneyworld until I see that castle!
- We always get an ornament
- We collect postcards from everywhere we visit. I pick up a couple of that spot and we put them in a photo album so the kids have a compilation of the places they've been. So for WDW I will make sure I have postcards from each park, Florida, etc.
- I've been debating starting the pressed pennies for my daughter with the intention of making a "charm" bracelet with them.

What are your traditions?

We always get a picture from the Visa room,

They go up on the fridge in order, so it's like a photo time line

We always always get an ornament, we get an ornament everywhere we go.

We get an ornament as well. We always take pictures in the same spot. We also have special T-shirts made for our trip and have our pictures taken in our favorite park to show them off.

We usually get an ornament.

DD will do the pick a pearl. We had one set in the Cinderella carriage necklace. The others are all waiting together tucked way for when DD decides how she would like them to be done. I think she has around 10 already and will get a few more this year. Japan at WS has a higher instance of "twins" than the booth at DTD for those wondering.

DD and I ride Splash on EMH night as our past ride of the evening (usually right before close and several times).

We do the ornament thing too..but from every vacation that we remember to get one.

We have done chef mickeys for dinner on our first night multiple times and my family likes WCC so that might be a non park dinner on future trips as well.

I always get a pretzel from Germany.

We watch the water parade from the beach although I am not sure how well that is going to be now due to the dvcs.

This may seem like an "un"-tradition, but we always try to do something we have never done before, which usually means a new restaurant or a new activity (often outside the parks). Last trip was Splitsville and, on another night, a dine-in movie at DTD. This summer, we'll hit one or two of the putt-putt courses, and we're even looking at an archery class for the kids out at Ft. Wilderness. We'll still eat at a favorite (or two or three), but there is so much to do around there that goes untapped, we try to find something new to us so that no trip is the same as another one.

What are your traditions?

-DTD the first day.
-MK our first and last park day.
-Always get a pre-RD ressie the first day for that castle shot. This is usually CP, but sometimes CRT. We always do CP every trip though, pre-RD or not.
-Caramel treats at Germany every time!!! :) And Boulangerie Patisserie every time!

That's all I can think of for now.

Our family WDW traditions:

- Magnets, I have a collection and I like to get at least the one with the year of our visit, as well as one or two others that I find in the parks

- Pictures of the kids in certain spots in the same exact pose (such as the Liberty Square entrance), I love to put them all next to each other to see how much the kids have grown.

- Mickey waffles every morning

- The Gran Fiesta Tour ride in Epcot Mexico - it's cheesy but we have to do it every trip!

-DTD on arrival day, with dinner at T-Rex (my favorite restaurant!)

-Magic Kingdom is the first park we go to

-Space Mountain is the first ride of the trip-I will not ride anything else until I go on Space Mountain first. (So essentially I can't ever go when it's under refurb!)

-The PeopleMover must be ridden at least 5 times each time we go to the Magic Kingdom

-Breakfast at Crystal Palace

-We always go to Epcot at least twice. So, on the second day, instead of having lunch, we get ice cream from the parlor in France.

We are another ornament family as well. We love them!
We get a pic every time with our Visa.
Always start and end our trip with MK.
We like to try at least one new restaurant.

We have our favorite rides we always have to ride as well but I'm sure everyone does.
I like the picture in the same place/same pose idea, might need to start that.

we too are an ornament family

we will also get a magnet if we stay at a new hotel

we always start the trip off with Hoop Dee Doo Review, nothing says vacation like all you can eat fried chicken with fixins' and all you can drink ice cold beer

Over the years we have had a lot of them. Large stuffed animals which they don't sell anymore. Dd has her collections pins, autograph books, pearls, pennies and now cm stuff. We have went through each trip stopping at art of disney and coming home with something. Well, the house is full and we are done. Lol
Mk is the first and last park. Arrival day is breakfast at earl of sandwich. First and last park days we have breakfast at crystal palace. There are spots we take pictures. It fun looking how dd went from hitting her head on the railing to sitting on it.
We purposely not ride or do something we always do. That way we have an excuse for going back lol. " we didn't go on Peter Pan this trip. Well, I guess we are going to have to go back!"
Since a lot of trips now are just dw and I. We like to find a bench and just sit for a while watching life go by. The people, the cms, the kids try it, you will have a blast just watching. Lol
