So I am trying to narrow it down to maybe 2 splurge items during our trip in December to Disneyland. So far I am thinking the Fantasmic Dessert seating (if we can get it) and Blue Bayou reservations. Do you all have any suggestions or your top few splurge items? :)

We're very budget-minded so a splurge for us is usually a character meal (preferably breakfast at Storytellers) or an extra meal in the parks. Last January, we splurged and used all our Disney Visa points on the Discover the Magic Tour.

For us it was a character breakfast (about $80) and a sillouette (I know I spelled that wrong!) picture with all 3 kids ($30 w/ frame).

I'm still debating what our big splurge will be this December....maybe a family picture.

yes, we're cheap... ;)

Well, last trip I ate at the Blue Bayou, that was the very first time in my life I had done so.... That was a splurge item for me.

Once in the parks I tend to just eat there, so I am not spending my time going back and forth outside of the park, and that can be concidered a splurge.

As for things, well, I don't buy a lot of things there, so when I find something I really want, I get it. I bought a few things last summer, but haven't purchased anything in the last 3 trips, so I guess I don't concider that splurging.

I think that the next big splurge I am thinking about is actually staying on property for a night, another thing I have never done, have thought of it a few times, but always opted for the difference paying for my gas to get there instead.

Our splurges are staying at the Disney resorts, dinner at steakhouse 55, purchasing things from the disney gallery, and renewing our passports when we need to.

I am totally embarrassed. I go to Disneyland at least twice a year, and I have never heard of the Fantasmic dessert seating...?? Please explain as it sounds like fun!

These aren't really splurge items, but they're just "must haves," when we go. DL has the best churros ever! I am one of those people standing in the 20-person line for the churro at the end of the night. Love 'em!

A splurge for us would be staying in a DL hotel....we did it last year and it's so fun!

Our whole Halloween trip is a "splurge" this year since we are also going to DisneyWorld in March.

Last trip our splurge was staying at Grand California, but now we are spoiled and consider it a necessity. :snooty:

We usually eat in the parks, and have plenty of snacks (LOVE those churros!), so that's kind of splurge-y.

This year's splurge is staying at the DL Hotel! We've never stayed onsite before, so I'm super excited about it!

Dinner at BB
Framed picture from Splash
14 Day DL Park (so you have plenty of time...)

A splurge for us would be staying on property(maybe w/concierge), having more than 1 character meal, doing a tour and doing fantasmic riveride seating. We have yet to do all 4 on one trip. We opted to not do fantasmic balcony seating next week since we'll be back in Oct. Unfortunately, fantasmic balcony closes at the end of the is month and they are now all booked up. Alas, we will have to settle for riverside seating. I don't consider souvenier shopping a splurge but would consider buying a framed painting/picture a splurge.

Just going to DL is a splurge for us. :rolleyes1

Shouldn't spend the money on DL at all, but it's the only destination that we all agree on where I can get a break from cooking and cleaning.

We go camping a lot, but that's no vacation for me...it's just more of the same old..same old. :sad2:

My whole Disney trip tends to be a splendid splurge.
Seven nights at the Disneyland Hotel. :earsboy:
Six day parkhopper passes. :jumping1:
Fantasmic balcony seating. :smickey:
Medieval times with transportation (just tend to slurp down those tongue tingling strawberry daiquiris and before you know it, just walking becomes an "E" ticket ride).

Now they have this "Segway" tour that sounds like a blast (zoom, zoom, zoom...) :moped:
And the Candlelight Procession sounds like it may be worth doing also. :santa:

One year our splurge consisted of buying the photos that are taken on certain rides and purchasing specific frames to match them (love the Space Mountain frame with the wobbly asteroids coming out of it).

Overtime, here I come! :coffee:

Our planned splurges (please bear in mind this our 1st and possibly only trip to DL and our next trip after this will be 18 months after our DL trip when we plan to go back to WDW - we are flying from England so the airfare is already rediculous, plus we have not had a vacation at all sine our last Disney trip 18 months ago!!)
* Meals at BB, Minnies and friends, Vineyard Room and Napa Rose.
* Tours - Segway (loved them at Epcot!!) and Walk in Walts footsteps.
* Fantasmic reserved seating (although now debating this one if the gallery isn't an option.)

Here's a link which includes info on the dessert seating. Unfortunately, the balcony seating will be shut down starting August 1. It is a nice splurge.

Once a trip I try to eat at least one nice place that I haven't eaten at before -- or at least in a long time. I think we'll try Steakhouse 55 (I last ate at Granville Steakhouse in the 80s) in August. I have to keep coming back because I'm still missing Catel, Napa Rose, and a few others. I love to splurge by staying at GCH, but find it a little hard on the bank account to do that too often. A nice piece of artwork or crystal is nice too.

For our first trip to DL last year, we did two character meals, and LOVED them both! This fall we'll be doing two again, I think Goofy's Kitchen and Minnie & Friends. Since we'll be in the park on my birthday, I'm thinking dinner at Steakhouse 55, or possibly Blue Bayou.

One other splurge this trip: Photopass CD! I plan to hit up every park photographer I come across! Since I'm the one with the camera in hand on all our trips, there are very few photos with me, and even fewer with all of us together. I plan to make the most of the Photopass! :thumbsup2

When I go I get 1 nice suvenior. This time I am going to see if I can find a unique precious moments figuine. I found a great one at WDW. If not I really want a nice framed photo.

Our last splurge there was for our girls it was their names spelled out with letters that look like princesses.

A piece of Swarovski Crystal from the Crystal store on Main St and an excellent meal. Usually Napa Rose, Hooke's Point or one of the nice places. I also like trying something new. A tour or experience. Am looking forward to the Segway Tour at DCA:)

Well after going to WDW and staying and eating onsite for ten days we got spoiled. We have decided our splurge is going to be the GC this time. To us the advantages of staying onsite and enjoying what amenities the hotel has to offer really makes the vacation for the Mom and Dad!!! We always splurge for one really cool character meal and one really nice adult meal at DL. After eating like this for ten days at WDW on the DDP it was awesome!. I always make sure everyone goes home with a really nice hoodie and I always buy myself a small piece of jewellery...nothing fancy like 15 dollar Mickey Mouse earrings etc..I however cannot stay away from the outlet lol!

On our first trip (all put together by a travel agent), our biggest splurge was staying onsite at PP, which we loved. We also made side trips to Universal Studios and SeaWorld and Catalina Island (we did the para-sailing, way cool!:cool2: ).

On our 2nd trip (all put together by ME!), we decided we had to stay at PP again:goodvibes , and then we also splurged on lunch at BB for all, Fantasmic! balcony seating for DD and myself, and Breakfast with Minnie & Friends for DD and myself. (My DH and DS went to an Angel's game, so don't feel sorry for them!:thumbsup2 )

 I only knew about the extra things we splurged on for our 2nd trip because I had found this site! My husband and son STILL talk about how cool the BB was! :disrocks: :thanks:
