November trip:
Holiday Tour!

On this last trip it was having dinner at the Blue Bayou. We also did the Rainforest Cafe, which is almost a splurge from what we spend! LOL I also consider all the shopping I do splurging! LOL

On our next trip in Oct. we'll be staying at the GCH, a big splurge. OH and having lunch at Club 33. Major splurge there! :)

Our biggest splurge would be staying at one of the Disney properties. We still haven't managed to jump that far yet, though!:scared1:

Last year, our biggest splurge was probably the Rainforest Cafe.

Our splurges are staying at GCH, a meal at BB, and new sweatshirts. We don't do a lot of souvie shopping. We tend to eat our way through Disney. lol

The balcony seating for Fantasmic! was a splurge for us. Definately worth donig at least once.

Oops! I forgot to mention the character breakfast at the Plaza Inn. The foods pretty good and the meet and greets are really fun.

Really???

Are you going to write a TR? I'd love to hear about your experience at Club 33, since so few people get to dine there. Pretty please? :flower3:

We usually splurge on food. We ate at the Blue Bayou, New Orleans cafe, and Storytellers.

Last trip we also did the Fantasmic dessert buffet. That was a one time only splurge for us though.

I think in october we will be splurging on a few meals and a princess dress for the little one. If they come in toddler sizes... I'm not sure if they do.

I know I already mentioned it on a recent post and you are all probably tired of hearing me say this but...NAPA ROSE! It is definitely a splurge and definitely worth it if you are a foodie and want the "California Cuisine" experience. Other than that I would suggest F! special seating although with the balcony closed it may not be as much of a splurge. Or if you stay on property you could consider an upgrade to concierge. At least that way you could justify saving on some meals, sodas, water.

Have fun!:surfweb:

We like to find something framed for the home. The last trip was the Black Pearl..also the name on my black vette..blkperl.

Buying lots of ornaments for our Disney Christmas tree - actually anything Christmasy. We also get at least one Christmas plushie each year.

I like to splurge on the Grand Californian if I can (gotta love those DVC points).

I also splurge on good food (Blue Bayou, Storytellers Cafe, etc).

DH and I both had several trips to DL as children, and eating at Blue Bayou was one thing both of our families never left Disneyland without doing!

We took our kids to DL for the first time last year, and had a wonderful dinner at Blue Bayou, which will now be a tradition! It's worth eating on the cheap the rest of the time we are there to be able to have that experience. For us, just getting to GO to DL is tremendous!

Our last splurge there was for our girls it was their names spelled out with letters that look like princesses.

They sound really cool, twinprincesses - where did you get them?

Just back and our splurges were the Fantasmic balcony and Blue Bayou, so I'd definitely have to agree with your choices. :thumbsup2

We loved the Blue Bayou and probably would've eaten there again but it was booked solid. It turned out it really wasn't too much of a splurge - it was around $70 for the 4 of us and so was lunch at the Plaza Inn. Millie's outside the gates was around $50.
Blue Bayou was only $70 because we (me, DH, DD14, and DS11) split two Monte Cristos and two Flying Dutchmen desserts. IT was PLENTY of food!

As for the Fantasmic balcony, it was great. Something every Disney fan should do once, but I can't imagine doing it again. The dessert buffet was nice, but it was not replenished and I felt like I couldn't eat everything I wanted since there were so many sharing it. (Okay, I wanted to be a pig but for $60 I should be able to! There was food left - just not the "good" stuff ;) ) Drink refills were not plentiful either. It was truly magical and I felt the spirit of Disney more so there than anywhere else in the park.
Good luck and have a great trip!

When we ran out of what we liked on the table, we asked and they brought more, same with the drinks. GF wanted to do it again this year(always had front row seats) but it will be closed when we get there mid August.

We have done many splurges including the balcony, the restaurants but in the end, I finally figured out the best thing to spend my money on at DL is MORE TIME!! I pick a time to go and then add at least 2 extra days and it is sooo sooo worth it to not feel rushed and not come home exhausted.

Naturally once we are there, we still end up doing the character breakfasts and have lunch (not dinner) at BB too but still, the extra days are the most worthwhile spending-waaaay better than a sweatshirt!

Our last trip we spent 10 wonderful days and it really felt like a vacation staying at DLH. For once, the kids got to use the pool all they wanted instead of just rushing by wishing they could go in-lol. For a family of 4 like us, you can easily get one more night at a resort hotel for the price of the balcony! Staying for long trips just is a whole different feel of "oh, big line there, we'll do it later" and "oh, never saw the Billies, we have plenty of time now."
