I am going to start making my ADR's in the next month and I am struggling with my decisions! DH and I are going for our 10th anniversary - just us, no kiddos this time. We rarely do anything just the two of us, so I want to make this extra special. I am definitely sold on Coral Reef for one night, so that leaves 4 others to decide on.

DH is not that "into" food like me(!), which is why I'm saying no signature restaurants. I am a huge foodie - DH on the other hand thinks it is a chore to have to eat! Yes, he is nuts! That said, he would just not enjoy himself in a very fancy, high priced restaurant . . . much to my dismay!

So, your top 4 non-signature restaurants for a romantic dinner are . . .

Thanks so much!!

Non-signature is more of a challenge.

Maybe Grand Floridian Cafe? Chefs de France?

Kona and Boma have EXCELLENT food but are NOT romantic or conducive to a great meal. Heck, I have a hard time finding a quiet, romantic meal at the Signatures sometimes!!!

There's a new place at the Yacht Club, but I don't know much about it. You might want to look into that.

LeCellier, Coral Reef, Fulton's, Hollywood Brown Derby and although we've never been there I would say San Angel Inn in Mexico (low lights, etc.)

I really really love Rose and Crown pub and dining room at Epcot. The food is fabulous there, especially the steak and fish combo. The really great part about being there is the outdoors and Illuminations fireworks show. Book your reservation for 8pm or as close as possible and note that is your anniversary and request outdoor seating, which they always say is not guaranteed, but we have always been able to sit outside even with a party of 10. My dh and I spent our 9th anniversary in WDW by ourselves last year and we ended the trip with a meal at R&C, I also ordered a special cake for us and they brought it out right before the fireworks started, it was so beautiful!! We had a great time. They gave us one of the magical moments certificates and we weren't even charged for the cake!! I hope you have a great time no matter what you choose, but R&C is definitely a special place for us, and its not too $$.

I would also say San Angel because of the low lighting also (even hard to read the menu) but had the menue memorized and knew what we were going to order before we got there. But Le Cellier and Coral Reef have the better steak.

Just remember that where ever you go there will be lots of kids around. The kids are likely to be noisey and if you think you can avoid the kids by eating late - wrong. The kids will still be there but they will be tired and cranky. You just have to supply your own romance because the surroundings may not supply it. You'll still have a great time.

I think I have talked DH into 1 signature restaurant! WOOHOO for me!!! So, I'm off to read the menus again!

You could always get some ice cream or a snack and head to the hammocks at the Poly. Hang out for the fireworks...sounds like a great time to me!

DH and I went out to a romantic dinner for just the two of us at BlueZoo at the Dolphin. I am by no means a "foodie" but wow, that meal was delicious and it was quiet and romantic ... no kids in sight when we were there!

I would recommend Jiko, Le Cellier, O'hanas, and taking food out to the hammocks at the Grand Floridian! Jiko is moderately priced, higher than usual, but nothering too crazy and the steak was unbelievable. It is a bit quieter than most other restaurants at Disney as well. Le Cellier is the same as Jiko. A little bit more expensive, but quieter than most other restuarants. Although, the steak is much better at Jiko. O'hanas is a loud, fun family oriented restaurant, but my boyfriend and I always have fun when we go there and the food is out-of-this-world!! Easily our favorite food in Disney World. Sometimes it's fun to still feel like a kid even when there are none with you. We stayed at the GF for one night it is soooo romantic there!! I'm not sure if you can order private dining to the pool or beach if you are not staying there, but I'm pretty sure you can from the pool bar. If you order some food to the beach you can sit out on the hammocks or on the beach chairs and eat dinner watching the sun go down or before the fireworks start at MK! Have a great trip :)

Romantic is really based on timing and location, like narcoosees during the MK fireworks.

I've never used DDP, but aren't Jiko, Le Cellier and Narcoossee's signature?

I love Kona, so whoever suggested hanging out on the hammocks to watch Wishes had a great idea with that!

I also have to second Blue Zoo, but I don't think that's on DDP since it's Swan/Dolphin but I've been there twice and was more than impressed both times- sticky lobster, lobster stuffed baked potato, great drinks, too!!!

You can call the Coral Reef and ask for a Diver Sign that says Happy anniversary and get the personalized menus, to make it special.

I am in agreement with most here....

Chefs de France - great food, nice ambience. can be romantic at night, especially if they sit you near the windows. Make an ADR, 'cause I think if you do, they sit you towards the windows at least.
San Angel Inn - decent food, very dark inside, neat decor inside...very original in terms of decor.
O'Hana - Can be romantic, if you watch the fireworks there. Then you can take a walk on the beach.

Good luck planning your trip.
