Where I live a new restaurant opened up called the Texas Roadhouse. They're all over the country, but this is the first one i've seen in the state of Michigan.
I had eaten there in the past in Iowa and dismissed it, but attending recently i've become infatuated with their Fresh bread and chili.
It's so good!

So what are your recent food obsessions?

Red Robin Calif chicken sandwich.....have loved it for years, so not recent.
I don't think I have a recent one.....same ole stuff.

We have Texas Roadhouse about 2 miles from us. We go occasionally but not an obsession

We've had Texas Roadhouse nearby here in Michigan for years. We rarely go and I struggle to find anything on the menu.

I prefer independent restaurants to chains where they actually cook up the food on your plate fresh, not from premade, preseasoned often frozen stuff.

I do love the Southwest Chicken salad at Chili's. And their chips and salsa.

A local restaurant - Jake's - has a really good bruschetta...has grapes, strong cheese, etc. I crave it!

We only go out to eat in a restaurant about once a month. That's not often enough to develop any obsessions, or even to be very familiar with menus at most places. There also aren't that many chain restaurants that are easy for us to get to so we rarely go to those. We do get take out from the a local Chinese restaurant and the local pizza/sub place more regularly.

I love Round Table Pizza. I've only seen it in California, Nevada and Hawaii. I haven't lived near one in over 13 years. So any time I'm near one, I have to eat there at least once.

We don't eat out a lot anymore, and when we do it's usually local places (I don't mind and even like some chain restaurants, but my husband doesn't, so...haha). There is a local chicken place called Smokin' Thighs and everything they serve is amazing, but wooooah man...they have a loaded baked potato salad. That I have dreams about. Lol. It's so delicious! Also, our local hot dog place puts homemade pimento cheese and grilled onions on my hot dog :lovestruc I never even really cared that much for hot dogs until I tried theirs!

I like to order things that are too expensive or time consuming to make at home. I will usually order duck, lamb or foie gras if I see it on a menu.

There is a little local taco joint here called Taco Stand, I've been going to it for 36 years, since it opened. They now have 4 locations but the little hole in the wall original place is still my favorite. I stop by at least once a week for take out to take home. I live in a college town, the University of Georgia is here so it's always been manned by college students, usually the "townies". The owners were college students when they opened it.

Boston Hot Dog Company in Salem.

The Taxi Dog
A true‏ southern favorite - topped with homemade cole-slaw, our award winning chilli and shredded cheddar

Love Fiesta Chicken at Applebees and that is only thing I order when we go there lol. We spend a lot of time eating at Tijuna Flats and Taco Bus, both which are Florida joints and Taco Bus is only in Tampa/St Pete area but they just opened one in downtown Lakeland. We had them 2 nights in a row this week haha. I love the tacos with carne and the tostada with carne and all the fixins. Especially jalepenos lol. The hotter in spice my food is the happier I am lol.

I am only obsessed with fast-casual chain restaurants that we don't have here in Memphis, like Potbelly, In and Out, and Earl of Sandwich. I MUST hit Earl whenever I am at WDW! In town, there is a local Chinese place that is easily the best restaurant in the city. It's not fancy, but it's so good!

Also in AZ, OR, WA .....just in case ;)

There's a place in Rockville, MD called Temari Cafe. I don't live in the area anymore, but I constantly think about and miss that place. Every time I am back in the area, I must go there. Specifically the Shouga Donburi...OMG...mmmmmm. I am obsessed.

My 2nd place food obsession is the Tacos Al Pastor at this place.

OMG I am soooo hungry now.

theres an awesome chinese place about 45 mins from us near his parents house. we have trouble finding good chinese here and always crave this place. they also make amazing sushi.
sometimes he brings it home after visiting them but its just not the same when you cant take a scorpion bowl to go!

Just an FYI about Texas Roadhouse, their steaks are cut fresh, not frozen. In my experience, all of their food is just as fresh as the independent restaurants that I've eaten at.

I'm obsessed with sushi and would always choose that when dining out. My favorite for years has been a particular item at one local restaurant--Fish on Fire. It's albacore, fresh sliced jalapeno and a sesame ponzu sauce.
