What are your plans today to get ready for Thanksgiving?

Well, we are all sick so it's more lazing around today than usual. However, my to-do list today is :

- Wrap gifts - it's my son's 9th birthday tomorrow
- Make batter for chocolate lava cake and refrigerate
- Do a couple of loads of laundry
- Put the baby down for a nap, then take a shower and give myself a manicure
- Pick up a couple of bottles of wine
Everything else I will do tomorrow

Happy Thanksgiving everyone :)

I finally well enough from pneumonia to thinking about cooking now. I hungry going over my cousins house and eat out house home. I have ate nothing since Friday. I about to starve.

I am resting to and trying to take it nice slow.

As soon get off from work today. I going to a buffet and eat out house and home. LOL

I've been doing alot since Sunday but on my list for today is:

Make sweet potato casserole, make ahead mashed potatoes, marinate the ham in a creole marinade, mix together my rosemay olive oil rub for the turkey, stuff mushrooms, set tables, clean the bathroom, put together the drink station, set up the chairs at the tables, spot clean, set out candles, bring up some toys for the younger kids, get my hair cut and hope that DH doesn't expect me to cook dinner tonight.

I'm expecting 23 for dinner and 28 for dessert. I get exhausted just thinking about it yet love doing it.

Cook one of the turkeys.
Chop the onions & celery for tomorrow's stuffing.
Pick up the chocolate cream pies.
Do some surface cleaning.
Set up the two extra tables & rented chairs.
Make a crustless pumpkin pie.
I know there's more, I just can't remember what......

It's not Thanksgiving in our family until I, the only vegetarian of our entire extended family, show up and hear, "Oh, we forgot about you. There are mashed potatoes." That is when the holiday truly begins for me.

Go pick up our rented table and chairs

Wash the rented table and chairs

Holler at my kids to stop leaving their crap in my living room and dining room

Haul my T-Day dishes up from the cellar and wash them

Peel the sweet potatoes and squash-I hate doing this!

Make mashed sweet, candied yams and squash

Holler at my kids to stop leaving their crap in my living room and dining room

Wash the dishes I used

Go over my list for the thousandth time to make sure I haven't forgotten anything

Finish packing our suitcases and get them out of the living room

Let my kids know that if I have to tell them one more time I'm just gonna throw their crap out

shopping done a few days ago, but YES!!! at 3 am this morning I needed flour for my pie! I forgot it!! so I was running around looking for a 24 hour store, found one. So have my apple pie, and chocolate cream pie done(I wanted something different) have my turkey brining in the frig. I have done a cranberry bread. I am cutting vegetables up for tomorrow and for my stuffing later on.

Working till noon. Then to store for wine and oysters (if they have any -- decided last minute to make scallopped oysters). Planning my BF shopping.

Made cranberry sauce yesterday. Today it's apple and pumpkin pies, and stuffing. Going out to dinner tonight (yum....). Tom Turkey's thawing in the sink.

Tomorrow we'll stuff the turkey and make sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Add rolls and wine, and we're done!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

It raining so a nap seems appropriate... well, even if it wasn't raining...
