What are your kids asking for Christmas?

Oldest DD (9yrs) wants an IPOD touch, but I don't think she needs that. I don't know much about IPODs really - just know someone said not to get the shuffle? Now I'm reading about Nano - what the heck does that mean? dh just got a nice MP3 by Sony and it comes in purple - we convinced her that maybe that was a good way to go?? But first what is an IPOD NANO?
She would love a mini laptop (no- maybe her birthday in March). She also would like a Barbie with the swimming pool and puppies (already have).

Younger DD (7yrs) would like the big Barbie Glamour Airplane - of course it was on sale a week or so ago and now isn't - she didn't mention it until last week! I'm sure it will again hopefully ... I was going to get her the Barbie remote control car too - she is a Barbie girl!!!

There are a couple of DS games I want to get them and maybe a Wii game (but they don't play the Wii very often) ... I'll have to look.

I got some of those spoodles (??) - little girlie backugons! Would like to find some Squinkies and they were talking about those Lollapolooza dolls the other day - although I was goign to get my 4 yr old niece one of those - seems more the age??

I need to get a day and just go and get soem shopping done. Finding the time is the trick!!!

The Nanos are the little square ones in multiple colors that hold about 500 songs.:goodvibes

Oops! On my post I meant the shuffle...i get so confused

LOL my younger two want duct tape in their stockings...what is it with that stuff? Look into Snap Circuits for your son. I got my ds some last Christmas and he has had a blast with them. We just got a basic set, but it has like 100 projects. Doorbell, alien ufo noisemaker thing, light bar, etc. Its really fun and pretty easy to do. Even dd11 plays with it sometimes. Their are bigger sets as well...check amazon.!

I will second the recommendation for snap circuits. It is worth every penny and was one of the items which got coveted space in DS's 4 alloted suitcases when we moved overseas.

I have had relatives asking for lists of ideas so I have asked the kids in the past few weeks.

DD (turning 14 Christmas week):
sewing machine (she will get that from us)
sealing wax
nun chucks (hers did not make the move;))
amazon e-certs (for kindle books)
clip on reading light for kindle
New rolling duffle (hers is getting worn out)
"fun" knee high socks or tights
Cowboy boots
she also has a list of books not available on Kindle which she wants

DS (turning 12 Christmas week)
Lego Harry Potter Wii game (getting that from us)
Harry Potter Lego sets
Toy Story DVD set
Once Upon a Matress on DVD
Wicked the musical pop up book
"cool" hats (He is fond of fidora and newsboy styles)
linen suit
Big Pony Ralph Lauren shirts
docking station for iPOD (my mom got that for him)

I wish my DS was asking for something, but at 14-1/2 all he wants is money.....he is already saving for his car.

DS15 asked for new bed. :confused3

Turns out his current twin sized mattress is only 70 inches long. He is over 6 ft. tall.

So the boy is getting a new bed for Christmas!!! :thumbsup2

Same here only not for xmas. We are shopping for a twin xl for DS age 15, he hangs over the edge of his bed now too but we can't fit a wider bed in his room.

Yes on Snap Circuits, my DS loved them for a couple of years... and legos too. Kind of sad because he said "no legos" this year. Too grown up. :sad2:

DD age 18 away at college:
-asked for a new Le Sportsac backpack
-surprise gift will be 2 tickets to a major touring broadway musical at her college, so she can go and take a friend
-lotions from Bath and Bodyworks
-clothes of course

DS age 15
-asking for a few video games (which I'll tell grandparents about)
-surprise gift will be a new ipod 16GB nano, he didn't dare ask as he got a new 8G one last xmas but his interest in music has flared and he has filled it already!
-swiss army knife

Thinking long and hard about buying each of them small netbooks which DH can get a good discount on through his company. DD has a laptop 3 years old which is larger sized and heavy to carry around campus for classes. DS shares our one home computer with DH and myself. We haven't said anything to them because we still are a bit unsure about spending the money. I haven't been getting as many hours at work as I had expected too. So we will see. :santa:

DD12(will be 13 in Jan) has these items on her Xmas list:

Fin Fin Friends (MIL got this for her)

Squinkies (Santa already purchased)

Zoobles (Santa already purchased)

Mighty Beanz

What are these? I've never heard of them?

I wish my DS was asking for something, but at 14-1/2 all he wants is money.....he is already saving for his car.

That is wonderful IMHO!!!

My son is similar. He saves and saves. He is talking about his license and perhaps a car, but has not mentioned the money was for that. It will hit us before we know it. :)

DS8 wants an Itouch.. Already in my dresser drawer YAY!!! I splurged and got him the new 32g , yes I know silly but I have an i phone 4 and no one to face time with :rotfl:. Plus I sold all my old gold and got WAY more than I thought lol.

I also have to get him an Otter Box to go with it.

ALL the Harry Potter lego sets .. I will pick up a cpl from Santa and the Grands will take care of the rest .

That is all he asked for.

I am also going to buy the Unofficial Lego Builder's guide.

DS21 says he is joining the Army , already taken his tests etc. So he may be in basic, not a clue what we will do if that actually happens.

If he goes off, I am thinking an I phone 4 so the boys can do facetime once he gets out of basic . : ) or maybe I can save it for a graduation gift from basic.

If he is home, new blue jeans, shirts an xbox game or two and cash.

Of course both boys get the basic stocking stuff, undies, socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste and both get their favorite candy.

When I posted this thread I never heard of Squinkies. My daughter just asked for some. They are tiny!

DS12 is asking for a couple of computer games and books. DD14 doesn't really have a list going. She did mention wanting some more apparel from her High School.

DD13 has also started her list and wants a thumb ring, slipper-type shoes with hard sole for outside, pocketbook made out of soda tabs, buddha tshirt, snowblades. I already picked up the snowblades on Amazon and on CL found a used pair of skis and boots.

DS20 is in the USAF and the only thing he wants for Xmas this year is to be home. This will be his very first year away from the family at Xmas:sad2: It's also the only thing I want. Not to steer away from the original thread, but he found out yesterday that he'll be deploying to Northern Iraq in February ~ he was sent to Japan in June and was told he'd be there at least two years before a chance of deploying:confused3

FWIW, I bought him a 17" laptop when he left for boot camp so he could use it for movies as well as internet stuff. He's been several places without televisions (and stuck in some airports for long periods of time) where it has come in really handy. He recently bought himself the Iphone 4 (3G) that he loves because no matter where he is he now has wifi and that has come in even more handy:) so I think that's a great idea.

DS 4 wants hotwheels especially custom motors, transformers, legos, and kinex.

DS almost 2 doesn't talk yet but he loves Disney Cars and Thomas the Train.

DS10 wants duct tape. He loves to build stuff out of duct tape. If he had his way, he'd go through a roll of it a week. He also wants broken VCR's, TV's etc... He enjoys taking them apart. I'm having a tough time figuring what to get him - I can't just wrap up a sleave of duct tape and a broken TV <sigh> I'll be anxiously watching your thread to see if any suggestions sound up his alley.

You could try amazon for electronic kits. Theres a learn to soder kit and 3 differnt projects you can buy (mostly under $10). Also check out books, when I was 11 I had a book about 100 differnt electronic projects you can make at home. Time to get some wood and a saw and let your son loose!

My DS11 has asked for a Kinect and the Kinectimals game. He has asked for a camera before but he also wants Doc Marten boots so that may be and either or. He will also get clothes, books, Mighty Beanz, and a newer cell phone.

DD8 picked out every single Felicity and Elizabeth outfit plus the horse :scared1: She is getting several outfits and some furniture from us and the horse. She also likes Barbies and wants another Build a Bear which I got for her this summer and put back. She will also get books, some Moxie Girlz, and a Teacup Piggy. I am unsure whether she will decide on a Lalaloopsie or not but she has leftover birthday money so I'm letting her take care of that if she does end up wanting it (I'm not sure I like them enough for the $25 price tag.)

DS(newly)7 asked for a go cart :rotfl: but seriously..... thinking either a nice wooden playset or a loft playhouse of some type. He has also asked for more dress up costumes so I am picking those up as I find them. He is getting Playdoh, Mighty Beanz, and some Phineas and Ferb stuff. He also wanted and is getting another Build a Bear and I have him a Tag set since he is just in Kindergarten this year and starting to learn words.

They also wanted new Wii games so they are getting a Nerf one with 2 guns, Toy Story Mania, Just Dance 2.......and maybe Tron...

They have some other little things that I found and know they would like but they hadn't thoght to put them on their list. DS11 loves pokemon and has Soul Silver so I may get him Heart Gold, DD and DS7 may each get a version of Club Penguin.

DS (11) wants some video games, art supplies and a small flat screen tv for his room.

DS (2) wants a tractor and a combine! The tractor I get cause he wants the John Deere ride on one, but the combine? :confused3 He's got his heart set on it though, so I found a toy one on Amazon. :thumbsup2 He also wants Dance Star Mickey and some tools.

DS7, "Mom, do you think Santa Claus will just bring me a thousand dollars and let me buy what I want?"

Me, ":lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:!"

My aunts girls want craft suplies, books, and pillow pets. the youngest wants me to move home and have a sleepover with her (which due to my job, she's getting). There hard to shop for. I know the oldest will get legos (her passion) and the youngest will end up with some sort of art kit. They have gotten the same thing for the past 4 years LOL.

Im close to being a kid (at least at heart) I want a bb gun, books, and night at the meseum 2 and grandma to give me $20 to get my computer cleaned and my F key reattached.
